Where on earth is Nigeria going with Yaradua?  Nigeria’s rating has dropped from the 121 position it occupied in the index last year; as you can see its a top news story on Google

Abuja — Corruption has increased in Nigeria with the country currently ranking 130th out of 180 countries surveyed in the 2009 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) released by Transparency International (TI).

Last year Nigeria scored 2.7 points and took 121st position out of 180 countries but this year the country's CPI score dropped to 2.5 ranking at on the same position Lebanon, Libya and Mauritania.

CPI ranks countries in terms of the degree to which corruption is perceived to exist among public officials and politicians

In reality, can any country in the world be more corrupt than nigeria?i don't think so.Even an average child of ten in nigeria knows what back-hand. dealing is and aspires to be as corrupt as the top custom officers, police officers, permanent secretaries, university lectures.nnpc officials, christians and moslems cleargies, the governors and even the president. All the so-called role models are morally filthy.

Corruption is a norm in nigeria

I am hoping that someone will make a contribution and discuss this issue because this is real bad news. Investors have little to go on when it comes to Nigeria and this perception index will put them off even more. Without inward investment Nigeria will be carry on as a pump for crude to the West and South east Asia undecided cry cry cry I live in the UK and most people joke about Nigerias 419 and so on, its a pity that Yaradua is not doing more to reduce corruption.
