QUESTIONS FOR MR PRESIDENT BY MDD, MRD | POSER FOR BABA

Members of the newly formed political associations - MDD and MRD led by their spokesman, Alhaji Jimeta have recently alleged the Presidency to have committed acts of gross misconduct.

Some of the allegations and posers are:

1. The forgery of the Electoral Act of 2002;

2. Refusal to implement the successive budgets passed by the National Assembly;

3. Willful and serial refusal to abide by court orders, including those of the Supreme Court, such as withholding of Lagos State Local Council funds;

4. Reckless expenditure not appropriated by the National Assembly, such as the over One Billion Naira spent on the defunct National Political Reform Conference;

5. Military invasion of Odi, Zaki Biam, Warri and, of recent, Yenagoa;

6. State sponsored gangsterism, such as the abduction of the Governor of Anambra State and the burning of all symbols of authority in the State by the President's own henchmen; and

7. Corrupt inducement of members of the National Assembly with huge sums of money to influence them perpetrate such acts as removal of their Speaker, leading tot he embarrassing display of a mountain of cash next to the House of Representative's symbol of authority- the mace."
Jimeta also alleged that the Obasanjo-led administration had emasculated and subverted other political parties in pursuit of the third term agenda.

8. The group also decried the alleged attempt by the presidency to impeach the speaker of the House of Representatives Aminu Masari for dissociation himself from the alleged third term bid.

9. The Jimeta-led group lamented that Nigerians had been subjected to an unprecedented level of corruption, poverty, unemployment and general absence of security.

10. On the crusade against corruption, the politicians alleged that security agents were being used to terrorise opponents of the regime in the name of war against corruption.

The following questions were asked by the group to buttress their argument that the anti-graft war was selective.

11. Where is the President's cousin and erstwhile Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Defence who was taken to court on charges of stealing N400 million of public funds, but whose case was mysteriously and unceremoniously withdrawn without recourse to due process and to the rule of law?;

12. What investigations have they conducted into the N300 billion allegedly spent on the construction of federal roads over which the President, himself expressed open embarrassment;

13. where is the N10 billion earmarked for poverty reduction under the Poverty Alleviation Programme?;

14. Where is the final report of the investigation into the Nigerian Port Authority and where are the billions allegedly embezzled by cronies and close associates of the President?;

15. Recently, the administration's anti-corruption watchdog, the EFCC, openly admitted what everybody else knows, that there is no transparency in the operations of Central Bank of Nigerian (CBN), Nigeria Port Authority (NPA) and Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC). The CBN and NNPC are under the direct supervision of the President. What happened to due process and the so-called extractive industry transparency initiative? Is the President above the law?;

16. Although the President himself has been the Minister of Petroleum since 1999 and considering that oil accounts for an overwhelming proportion of our national revenue, why has the President never presented a memo to the Federal Executive Council in respect of allocation of crude oil, importation of refined products or other public procurement contracts?;

17. Where did the PDP find moral justification for returning a self-confessed election rigger, an arsonist and one of the President's well-known henchmen back into the Party and making him a member of its Board of Trustees?;

18. Why are there so many embarrassingly rich people among the President's aides, whose source of income are unknown?;

19. Where is the richest person to ever retire as the Chief Executive of NNPC under questionable circumstances and what are his sources of wealth? Why, unlike the immediate past Inspector-General of Police, is he still walking the streets?; and

20. Where did the President's son get the money to buy an expensive mansion in New York?

The politicians called on President Obasanjo to come out and tell Nigerians his mind about the speculated third term agenda as well as assure them of his commitment to a free and fair election come 2007.

These reminds me of Orji Ozur Kalu's unsubstantiated allegations.

I'm looking forward to the President's response to these itemized allegations. If he responds in a satisfactory manner, it will vindicate my belief that the war on corruption is genuine. If not, then I will be very afraid for Nigeria. Baba, the ball is in your court!
Re: 10 Questions for President Obasanjo | Allegations of Gross Misconduct by JP(m): 1:21pm On Dec 10, 2005
I don't think he will give us any satisfactory answer.I am not expecting one.
Simply put, why would OBJ put the mind of so many Nigerians in suspense
about the 3rd term agenda. If he is not a party to it, what is so difficult
about coming out to tell Nigerians where he stands?

Re: 10 Questions for President Obasanjo | Allegations of Gross Misconduct by Greatpeter(m): 2:38pm On Dec 10, 2005
All these allegations are politically motivated.
The MDD and MRd were part of the govt. since 1999.
But because Baba did not allow them perpetrate their selfish agenda
now they ganged up against him and brought out flimsy questions and allegations to nail Baba.
And paint Baba black.
They should cast the first stone.
Rubbish!

Since there are no white hands, why not let them at each other. Not for us to object to opposition. It is only through this process that people will know that there is a day of reckoning for everyone. You chop today, tomorrow you answer
Re: 10 Questions for President Obasanjo | Allegations of Gross Misconduct by prettyH(f): 3:01pm On Dec 10, 2005

Re: 10 Questions for President Obasanjo | Allegations of Gross Misconduct by JP(m): 3:10pm On Dec 10, 2005
Well, it's better to talk about it and have a good opposition.
I think there a elements of truth in the allegations.
Afterrall why shouldn't the government be opposed? It's like
this administration cannot stand opposition.And that is not good
for this country's democracy

This are all handy work of IBB loyalist, people lets not forget the guy Alhaji Gambo Jimeta was the Inspector general of police during Babangida regime. Lets not forget. This is the same guy that said Obasanjo regime is more corrupt and worse than Abacha regime. this guys are just trying to find way to gain credibility to the next election. Nigerian politicians are playing dirty games at all cost.

SOURCE?
These are questions seen even by the blind and heard by the deaf in Nigeria before
Alhaji Gambo in their most publicised International Press Conference of last week reiterated.
If you want confirmation ask ''Fani Kayode jnr'' -Baba's basket mouth, insulting Elders for a mere plate of porridge, not to parry the questions but answers.

Baba is more evil than MDD /MRD combined.
See the Calamities and hunger in the Land.
We need prayers.
This Government is evil and self knowing.

We want to know if the questions have already been presented to Baba, and where you got them from before posting on this forum. For example, was it a Nigerian newspaper website? Or are you a journalist who was at the press conference?

I CAN SAY WITH CONFIDENT THAT NO PRESIDENT HAS EVER PERFORMED THAN OBASANJO. I AM NOT HIS FAN BUT OF ALL PRESIDENT WE HAVE EVR HAVE, NONE HAS PERFORM EVEN HALF OF WHAT OBASANJO DID. LET US BE FRANK HERE. HE MAY HAVE HIS WRONG SIDE BUT THEY ARE NOT ENOUGH TO JUSTIFY THIS INGRATITUDE FROM NIGERIANS.
IN MOST ALLEGATION HE IS CLEAN OF THEM I CAN BET YOU, IF WE GET TWO OF OBSANJO, NIGERIA WILL HAVE TREMEDOUS CHANGES.
