Former President of the United States of America, Mr. Bill Clinton, yesterday in Abuja, dispelled the common notion that lack of growth in developing nations was caused by corruption, saying “too little capacity” is responsible for problems in the third world.
Clinton, who spoke at the opening luncheon of the Leon H. Sullivan Summit VII at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock Abuja, said developing nations were thus faced with the challenge of building a system that would give people the opportunity to excel and also reward hard work.
He said inequality in the world only rests in the distribution of opportunities, the reason why African countries should strive to build a system that solves that problem.

Arguments have been raised on whether Nigeria is a Developed; Developing or Underdeveloped Country? Going by this quote, i agree that Nigeria is an UNDERDEVELOPED country. What do you think?
"The underdevelopment of the third world is marked by a number of common traits; distorted and highly dependent economies devoted to producing primary products for the developed world and to provide markets for their finished goods; traditional, rural social structures; high population growth; and widespread poverty."

This is not a political party of any sort but a social movement. A social movement that seeks to bring about change in all strata of Nigeria which people are willing to contribute in. We invite and encourage all who want to contribute in whichever sector they are willing to contribute in. We welcome all who want to make an impact and we ask that all feel free for this is not about any one person but about the change we desire for Nigeria, this is not about any one person but about a people’s movement. This is a platform for working towards actualisations of set goals in whatever sphere anyone is interested in contributing in and in whatever capacity people are willing to contribute in to positively impact on Nigeria, we have the opportunity to act. This is not about being financially aggrandised but actions towards the greater good, not about power or egos but selfless service towards development. Democracy has being described as “government by the people, of the people, for the people”. What is sought is a reawakening of “the people”, you and I. Get involved and spread the word. Would you stand to be counted?

for all african countries, political independence did not mean economic development as well, because the pattern of economic relationships between them and the developed countries remained the same. africa still depended on the european nations for capital for development and technology. african countries still supplied raw materials to the industrialized nations and in turn she buys from them manufactured goods of all sorts, in fact, the worst part of the arrangement is that africa has no control over the prices of her goods and those she imports. the industrialized nations control both. **what is responsible for this, and what is the way out?

People that blame oil companies for the woes in the Niger Delta need to have their heads examined. A lot of people just talk without knowing how the revenue structure works. Do you know that in a typical joint venture, the sharing formula is NNPC (60%) and the oil company (40%). Out of this 40% the oil company pays taxes that are as much as 85% on their profits. Government then pulls their 40% revenue along with the huge taxes, royalties, bonuses and shares it amongst the 3 tiers of govt out of which the Niger Delta states get 13% before any sharing is done at all. Now people want the oil companies to start playing the role of govt after all that. Do you wait to ask yourself if it is Shell, Exxon etc that construct roads, supply electricity, build hospitals in places like Aberdeen and Houston? It's absurd to expect a private entity which pays its taxes to govt to still carry all these responsibilities. They have investors whose monies they are using for business and they need to have returns too. Any they do is just a matter of corporate social responsibility and people shouldn't hold them by the throat because IT IS NOT COMPULSORY THAT THEY DO IT!!

The most important thing is the six or seven states in each zone to sit down and draw a comprehensive route which will take full advantage of the developmet needs and goals of the whole region, these goals should then be concessionalise based on the drawn out plans,  adhererance must be strict.

Concessions should also be issued to dedicated lines that will link all the rigions together in one big unify conglomerate. Do we have a development plan at all, that is something that needs to be looked into.

First thing to be done is to remove everyone in power presently and start a new leadership with fresh people. Everone in leadership currently is mutilated and induced with insincerity. I think Nigeria has to be professionally managed with a defined leadership framework. Any leader that does not play by it should be jailed for a minimum of 40 years in a special jail located by Kaduna/Abuja expressway where people can see them and lay curses on them.
