Natural hair all da wayyyyy!!!! Ziggy_mama: some styles with natural hair requires the use of texturiser!!! |
Re: Natural Hair Pics by Nobody: 1:16pm On Oct 02, 2008 |
@Moyola hon No Style wit natural hair require the use of a Texuriser Honey,Once u use a chemical product(Texuriser inclusive)on yr hair albeit mild,u have permanently changed the curl pattern of yr hair whereby u need touch-ups When u use a Texuriser u slacken/semi straighten d hair n hav to keep doin soo to maintain that pattern. It's jus a misconception when people say u can go natural and still use a Texurizer.Don't even go dia sis. "few sisters lately have been convinced by stylists that texturizers will make it "easier to transition." That is true,if you're trying to transition from one chemical process to another. If you get a texturizer, and you didn't want a texturizer, ie your goal is to be chemical free, you will have to cut the texturizer out just like you have to cut the relaxer out. A texturizer is a "mild relaxer" that loosens the natural curl of your hair rather than straightening it completely. The curls often loosen unevenly, which is why you see a lot of people with texturizers with who have some sections of their hair sticking out straight and some curled up. Texturizers can also dry the hair, and require a lot of gel to define and hold the curl, aka the wet crunchy look. Some people use Jherri Curl moisturizer products on their texturizers, which probably work better if you want to avoid the crunch." If you want a texturizer after being fully informed as to what it is and does, great. But please ladies, don't let anyone else convince you that you need it to make your hair "more manageable" or your process "easier." |

Nice pix, gamine. i think natural hair is cool - long or short. Dreads are funkyfine, and I always wished I had the nerve to cultivate them. One of these days I just might trim off my relaxed hair and start from scratch. My baby girls are certainly going to grow up without feeling the pangs of hair relaxers. When they're old enough, they can make their own choice to straighten or not to straighten! |

Re: Natural Hair Pics by Riskie(f): 3:07am On May 19, 2009 |
ThiefOfHearts: No that seems to be a twist out. You can see that her hair is kinky and the only curl pattern comes from the unraveled twists. |
Re: Natural Hair Pics by ThiefOfHearts(f): 4:22am On May 19, 2009 |
That's what a twist out from post 8/10 weeks relaxer looks like. Edges are still very smooth |

I guess I cant have natural hair now with all the times I have perm it. I plan chopping it off real soon anyway. We will see how that works out!! |
Re: Natural Hair Pics by Nobody: 10:40pm On May 20, 2009 |
@seant21 you will be fine, its ur hair! just learn to love it as it is, it may not have the same curl pattern or texture as everyone else's. it may not like being combed and you can not neglect giving it special attention to keep it soft and healthy. Because so many of us grew up using relaxers going natural( whatever ur reason) is like giving birth to a baby. You learn as it grows |
