I have seen alot of criticism against Ramsey but never have i seen him grouped with those guys grin . Our own Sergeant John Rambo ? Jenkinson and Johan ?

Need I say more about Ramsey? See 4llerbuntu's post.
Ramsey isn't an inspiring player and I hate to see him play most times. Jenkinson is far more hardworking, dedicated and a fighter.

Wenger is really genius. He literally beat chelsea at stanford with 9 players. Djourou and Ramsey shouldn't be counted

and hands up, i have to give it to wenger, he has managed to get this team of misfits to win 8 in 9.  AMAZING

it takes something special to go to rival stadiums with this yeye players and get result, its practically miracle working.

redress the totoham debacle and i will back u again, i hate losing to london clubs and until wenger redress the imbalance in london, he is still in my bad books.

still cannot believe this shyte squad got results against stoke and chelsea, miracle

Shut up 4ller. No be by force to yarn dust. tongue

The media have convinced all the gullible/mindless fans this is "the worst Arsenal side in living memory"(looking at you Ibime), but i can't understand how Nasri - Gervinho(who i believe is a better winger/forward than Nasri) and Cesc - Arteta suddenly makes a squad(which many here touted as the best squad in the league) rubbish when it's improved in every other area.

They won't win the league but don't get it twisted, this is a very good Arsenal side, ask Villas Boas tongue cheesy

hehehe its my constitutional right to yarn dust jare.

i think wenger should lock up andre santos and starve him for two weeks, watching the match again im shaking my head at his fitness and defending.

good to see that wenger is finally learning some things, djourou had a decent game and the very first hint of mistakes by him he gets yanked out .
tho y vilas boas did not tell mata to go sit on him is beyond me, thot his scouting was good. he should have known djourou was an accident waiting to happen.

truth be told, i really do not think chelsea is that much better than us, what they have over us is confidence, and experience at the league on the whole. but this their coach needs to learn fast, this aint portugese league, playing gung ho with arsenal will never end in your favor
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread (the Night Is Darkest Just Before The Dawn) by dipo1: 8:25am On Oct 30, 2011
It was really a firm statement of intent from AW when he removed Djouru as the latter showed signs of blundering.

But how could you not love this manager?
We sold Fab and Nas and we still score 5 goals at stamford bridge, Wow!

i hope the team can ride on the confidence this win has brought. When you play against players of the class of Torres, Mata, Cole and co and you win, its sheer quality.

Gerv RVP Walcott can be the best attacking trio in the league if they get their heads together, only comparable with Young, Roon and Nani.

How it feels to be a Gooner

Are you kidding me ? Ramsey is guilty of losing possession occasionally but for you to say this about him is outrageous. May be you should go and watch the game again, or better still watch a game without Ramsey in it and see how inspiring that team looks.

And i say it again, Wenger aint ish. We're still in october last time i checked, get back to me when Manchester starts to grab those from every angle.
Ask yourself this question, "if captain Robin Van Persie or/and Song go on a two month long, injury what happens to the team ?"
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread (the Night Is Darkest Just Before The Dawn) by allboyz(m): 11:40am On Oct 30, 2011
Honestly to be frank. . . . this days i hardly forget Fabregas and Nasri had ever played for Arsenal except for our first 4 games in the EPL. . . .

NO PLAYER IS BIGGER THAN THE CLUB!!

Nasri is now a carling cup player at City. . , what a shame!!

I hope he get some boos at the emirate nxt month at the 1/4 of the CC cup. . . . .I dnt give a Phock on the circumstance that led to his departure. . . .

'Ifs' happen,

What do you think will happen IF rooney and vidic are out for Manure?
Or if vDv and Modric are out for Spurs?
Every team has its more important players and managers can only try to manage their form.

I restate that Ramsey isn't an inspiring player enough and I can't wait for Wilshere to be back. Ramsey doesn't give away passes 'occasionally', he does it over and over again. It only becomes more obvious when we loose.

Nor dey talk like this Ed, like Richie said the media has succeeded in convincing everyone that this Arsenal squad is very poor when in fact it isnt. The Arsenal squad has been more about playing a system than about individual players. It is a system that takes some getting used to and requires certain types of players.

If Van Persie or Song get injured, it only provides the opportunity for another player to step up (remember that Arshavin and Bendtner have both played as main strikers in the 2 immediate past seasons with varying degrees of success) Our strength in depth improved last season in the MF positions and the defence and now it seems our strength in depth is also better upfront with older and more experienced players. What we did this season unlike before was to get reasonably adequate replacements for those we lost (Arteta for Cesc and Gervinho for Nasri) unlike in the past when we had to promote from within.

Both Song and RVP are important and we will wobble (like any other team that loses its top quality players) but make no mistake about it that it will only give another player the opportunity to step up. The overall squad depth has improved over last year's.

It's 24hrs late but I've got to give credit to your side.
I didn't see you winning the game but to score 5 there takes something special to outdo that feat.
Bar your side's defending I think it's your best performance in a long while.
Kudos.

Nicely said bro, our deffence was bad, the first 2 goals by Chelsea was due to poor deffending by the team.
Truth be told we are LUCKY and that was the element missing in the Blackburns Game. guys if David Luis was in that Chelsae team most likely the result could have been diffrent.

NEXT GAME PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

I am utterly disappointed at this comment over Ramsey, without any offence, i am tempted to ask if u really watched the match? Ramsey gave the performance of his life in this match, it was his through pass to GEV that started the first goal for us, the early chances spurned by Gervinho and RVP were created by Ramsey, he created several chances with his new found lob pass, he was not guilty of loosing possession in vital areas like he is used to. he  showed composure with the ball and was always tracking back to defend.

I think your comment is bias, he did very well yesterday, he is a promising player.
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread (the Night Is Darkest Just Before The Dawn) by dipo1: 5:12pm On Oct 30, 2011
That's the point. I am not judging the young lad based on yesterday's game alone. He did play in Gerv brilliantly in the build-up to our first goal, and might have done more assists in same game but are you confident he won't give the ball away stupidly in our next game? If I was asked that, it'll be a NO.
You need to consider games before yesterday's game and see that Ramsey's gives the ball away repeatedly.
Anyone can have one nice game, but it'll take a stretch of sustained brilliance to show improvement.
I don't know of what use a midfielder is if he scores a goal and makes the team concede a goal at the same game.
I will eat my words if his folly at giving the ball away doesn't lead us to conceding at least 2 goals in our next 3 games.

I dey gbadun that lobbed pass, the boy wants to trade mark it. He is even hitting it with more consistency than Cesc nowadays.  grin grin
And yes, Ramsey is a very promising player, he had some fatigue issues earlier which seem to have cleared up with adequate rest.

I go with Ritchie and Dudu on the fact that the Media has so messed up Arsenal fans mind that even if we do win a trophy this season,we still believe it's the worst Arsenal side since the EPL started.
Did you listen to the commentaries yesterday when we played the Chavs?
Danny mills and the other guy kept pointing out Arsenal's mistakes and questioning how Arsenal can call this a PL defence, yet we went on to win shocked shocked
The hatred for Arsenal by the British media is sometimes shocking.
I am watching the Spuds play right now and the commentaries make it look like we are watching the best players in the land.
On Ramsey, he's been frustrating for a while, but he has put in a shift in the last three matches.
Yesterday looked like one of his best matches in the red and white shirt. . . and come on guys, I can't hate on him for a while. . .He came in and scored in injury time against Marseille barely two weeks ago.
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread (the Night Is Darkest Just Before The Dawn) by Roland17(m): 6:44pm On Oct 30, 2011
Its no news that British press spite Arsenal, yet they are quick to hype failures in Man-Utd, Liverpool, and Spurs. lets not forget this is a team in transition.the bulk of the players in this current team have never played together, i am very positive about this team, hopefully they can take same spirit into the next game against Marseille and finish top of the group, that would reduce the pressure going into the second round.

Abeg , U guys shld free Ramsey jor.  His habit of frequently giving the ball away @ the beginning of the season was frustrating but he's improved (or is improving) and more importantly, creating and scoring goals.

I still have not had the opportunity to see the game, but I swear it is only on Nairaland I have heard a bad thing about Ramsey yesterday, and that's in the frigging whole wide world otherwise known as the www.

Dipo i get your point, even Theo is wont of doing that, playing fantastically in one game and breaking your heart in the next game. But i think that as they mature their consistency levels will progress too. That being said, Ramsey's carelessness must be something psychological, being that it became more obvious only after his return from that horrific injury. I've just been hit with one of those fantasies again. If only Wilshere were fit and Wenger decides to revert back to 4-4-2, occasionally : we'd have Arteta - Song - Wilshere - Rambo/Rozzi/Arshavin . With a matching defence i can't wait to see the destruction.
