You're right there are Igbo people who have had multiple pregnancies but you don't see such happening in record numbers as it is in the SW(no offense). I think it has a lot to do with culture or religion. It's mostly ramant among Yorua muslims.

I will take this as a semi-retraction. But it doesn't take one to be an astrophysicist to know that Islam APPEARS to support having multiple wives. The new generation Yoruba Muslims usually have one wife. That's the difference between enlightened and "bush". Where did you get the stats indicating this "record numbers"? Or you are making up your stats? I'm sure any stats you come up with will give similar results whether the samples come from Yoruba or Igbo land.

The fact that this is generally known but the promiscuity criticism is usually in the direction of Yoruba (coming from Igbo which to me is quite comical considering they are generally not immune to promiscuity) should tell you something. Basically turning a blind eye to their own bad eggs while focusing their searchlight on Yorubas who they want to hate. Yorubas call it "a wa wi" - fault finding. Mind you, I know many Igbo people who are not this self-deluding and it's basically because they are enlightened; as opposed to "bush".

If rules-of-thumb are anything to go by, conclusions can be drawn from the fact that a sizable number of pros.titutes in Lagos and even Abuja are Igbo. I know this, and I am not making guesses here because I was deep into the club scene. Yet if you go to Igbo land, you won't find a disproportionate number of say Yoruba women or Idoma women into prostitution. Yet an Igbo woman will open her mouth and say Yoruba women are promiscuous? You can draw your conclusions.

Stop deceiving yourself because it is not a delusion but a well known fact to anyone who has lived among Yorubas. All the Yoruba guys (and there were like 17 of them) that were working at my father's printing press while i was in Nigeria were all promiscuous and had numerous concubines. I would know because they were brazen about it and talked openly of it. These women sometimes come to the office to see them even though we know they are not their wives and that they are all married. It was a common knowledge and all others who are not yorubas were always talking about it. Not saying Igbos and others do not engage in such way of life but it is not as pronounced as with the Yorubas. Most Igbo men who engage in extra-marital affairs often are afraid of the consequences and try all they can to shield their family from it.
