Bobloco: Direct insult to Christians’ — Vatsa knocks Tinubu’s Muslim-Muslim ticket for 2027
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Niger State, Jonathan Vatsa, has criticised the reported decision to retain Vice President Kashim Shettima as President Bola Tinubu’s running mate for the 2027 presidential election, warning that Christians will not support another Muslim-Muslim ticket.
Vatsa described the move as “a direct insult” to the Christian community, saying it was politically insensitive and could cost the ruling party Christian votes.
In a statement issued in Minna on Saturday, the former Niger State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism said the circumstances that justified the same-faith ticket in 2023 no longer existed.
“I think this is a grievous mistake by the APC. It is highly insensitive,” he said.
According to him, those behind the decision “did not mean well” for the President or the party.
“With the current situation in the country and the concerns over the safety of Christians, nobody expected the President to repeat this arrangement,” Vatsa said.
He argued that the APC would struggle to convince Christians to support its ticket in 2027, especially if other political parties field Christian candidates.
“What do you expect us to tell the Christian community, to vote for another Muslim-Muslim ticket?” he insisted.
Vatsa, who recently urged Niger State Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago to pick a Christian running mate for the 2027 governorship election, said Christians already feel insecure and would be more comfortable with a Christian vice-presidential candidate.
He warned that repeating the Muslim-Muslim ticket could have “grievous consequences” for the APC’s electoral chances.
The APC stalwart, however, clarified that his position was not against Vice President Shettima or the Muslim community.
“I have nothing against the Vice President or the Muslim community. I am speaking for equity, justice and fairness in the political arrangement of the country,” he added..

South Africans are already reaping the consequences of their actions. Those local shops are mostly operated by the African migrants. Would you go to a big mall or mart to buy ordinary a salt, milk or Sugar ?
Where is she getting these monies that she is doling out? Mrs Tinubu, you need to explain to us!
SixSeven: I am surprised people are overlooking something she said in that interview.
"So we've encouraged Nigerians as best as we could. What is within our hands, I have given, and I keep giving.
"I remember giving for TB. When I heard there were so many TB cases, I gave N2 billion. To breast cancer, I gave a billion. For food malnutrition, I gave half a billion."
I, we. They want to turn us to a charity case. What a shame. Before her husband's inauguration in May 2023, Remi Tinubu stated that her family did not require Nigeria's wealth to survive, emphasizing that they are already blessed. She pledged to use her position to guide the nation onto the correct path and promised that they would do the right thing with the country's resources.
For a former Senator not to know that there are specific institutions to do what she is talking about, I now forgive Aisha Buhari who channeled her frustration to the right quarters. Madam, there are budget allocations for these things. It means you are not on top of your game if you have to fund the country with your charity when there is a government. Shame again.
This only confirms one thing: this government knows it will fail in the next election. This is the tactic of a ruling party afraid to face the opposition in an open contest.
I had very good experiences at that school. I will not forget ABSU. My alma mater.

You will continue to support evil until you are drowned by it. This government is nothing but complete evil. All the policies this crop of thieves criticised during campaigns they have now implemented. These people protested when Goodluck Jonathan attempted to remove the subsidy. But that was the very first thing this demon in Aso Rock removed. They criticised cashless policy of Emefiele. Now they are mulling over whether to implement it. APC is the worst.
9jatriot: Cashless policy in itself was not bad, but the way Emefiele in conjunction with Malaimi went about it was the problem.
We really have our former friend El Rufai to thank for how he fought for the thing to be removed. Rather unfortunate, he decided to turn against the administration.
Obi however, will be remembered for hoping that the sufferings of Nigerians in not being able to access their case will be to his benefit at the polls.

Making excuses for the failures of this government is indeed comical.
Putinofrussia: Tinubu will easily win with a landslide in 2027. Apart from the legacy insecurity and high cost of living which is global,Tinubu has performed creditably well more than all previous govts but he should sit up and fix the worsening security situation.
On the other hand, these are people and reasons why Tinubu will win again...
1.Pensioners' health subsidy and free maternal services.....Most pensioners and their families will vote for Tinubu including the women who wouldn't want the free maternal services to stop.
2.Dialysis health subsidy....Most dialysis patients families will vote for Tinubu.
3.Nelfund beneficiaries up to 1,388,592 students as of April,2026........Both the existing beneficiaries and the ones about to come into the universities and their families will vote for Tinubu.
4.Free technical colleges with free feeding and #22,500 monthly free money....The parents of these young students will vote for Tinubu. There are still many more but these are the major programs Nigerian masses will not want another clueless govt to stop because no other govt in the history of Nigeria has given Nigerians these laudable gifts.
Now for the 'failures'...
Insecurity....This is a legacy problem initiated by Northerners and still been facilitated by them. No President can stop it unless the people especially the Northerners support and agree to sheath their swords. It is decades long problem that continues to grow and grow even if it subsides a little,it grows again because it is supported by some Northerners in the govts of Obasanjo,Yaradua,Jonathan,Buhari and now Tinubu. It has religious, ethnical, political and parochial roots. Unfortunately, some foreign terrorists have joined the fray. It doesn't have just a military solution but a live and let live solutions that include negotiations et al. Gun violence in America takes thousands of life every year but no American President has been able to stop it because it is perpetrated by Americans. Out of 2 evils,,sometimes you take the lesser one in order for life to continue..
Israel couldn't defeat Hamas,Hezbolah,Houthies even by killing100 thousands of their people. Israel will just continue to fight for eternity because those people's children will continue to fight Israel. The Crusaders were never obliterated, they took power in some nations and got assimilated.USA and its allies never obliterated ISIS,they were scattered into other nations like Nigeria,Mali etc and their leader still became the President of Syria. So also was Taliban etc. If anybody will stop this carnage,Tinubu will but he will take some steps that some people will not like and will cost him his second term and without second term, you can't solve the problem.
If you want to talk about cost of living,it is all over the world but Nigeria felt it more because of the removal of subsidy which was sinking Nigeria. Bag of rice went over #100,000,beans was #2,400 per Derica and so on. It is not enough but things have come down a little while some are still up.
The greatest and unparalleled achievement of Tinubu are the unheard in Nigeria massive projects he is executing all over Nigeria. No sane person will want all of these to stop.
None of the Presidential candidates has what it takes to govern Nigeria like Tinubu going by their antecedents.
Read it well. He did mention his name. He cannot utter a word without mentioning PO. Tell Omokiri good morning, and he will reply that Peter Obi has caused him to have a nightmare in the night.
This kind of policy is not new. In the early days, television was also banned for the young. In the next 30 -40 years, people will look back at this ban and laugh at the backwardness of Mr Keir Starmer.

The way I read this: the terrorists are winning. Nigerian Christians are now more afraid of the terrorists than they believe in the powers of their God to deliver them.
