Politics / Senator Udoedehe's Endorsement, Dead On Arrival by niroreporters: 1:12pm On Feb 13, 2022 |
The Greater Akwa Ibom Youths Initiative (TGAIYI) is alarmed by the undemocratic desperation of some expired politicians in Akwa Ibom State to adopt Senator John James Akpanudoedehe as a consensus governorship candidate at a time that the party is still divided into factions and the leadership struggle is pending the resolution of the court. While we are not necessarily opposed to the idea of Udoedehe joining the gubernatorial race being a matter of constitutional rights, it is however laughable for certain elders who have repeatedly mortgaged the soul of the APC for the filthy lucre of the governing PDP in the state to enthrone a serial saboteur and ring the funeral knell for our party. It is common knowledge that Senator John James Akpanudoedeghe is not interested in being governor. For him, election periods are high income turnover opportunity and the APC is always his only chattel for sale. In 2016, Udoedeghe celebrated the defeat of APC and its gubernatorial candidate, Mr. Umana Okon Umana at the Supreme Court of Nigeria merely because Udoedeghe lost the party ticket to him and further enforced the suspicion at the time that Udoedeghe had turned his back on the party. In that same 2015, Udoedeghe refused to attend Buhari's campaign rally. He openly told his supporters not to vote for Buhari, which they did. Recently, Governor Nyesom Wike openly accused Udoedeghe of working and actually voting for PDP in the 2019 elections. Wike threatened to present evidence should Udoedeghe deny or attempt to controvert his assertion. Udoedeghe has kept an undignified silence on the matter to save self from the embarrassing situation till date. What Wike revealed to the media was already an open secret given that Udoedeghe had down tools and made no effort to work for the victory of APC. Indeed, APC failed to win Udoedeghe's unit and ward despite the amount of money the party had invested for campaigns through Udoedeghe. A man with such shallow attributes cannot be entrusted with the APC flag. The youths are quite vigilant and will work to salvage democracy from the auction table of Senator Udoedeghe. As an opposition party in the state, it is shameful that Udoedeghe has gone to bed with the very monsters that have failed our people and incapacitated the party from being a critical rallying point of the Akwa Ibom people to press for good governance. We therefore condemn and reject the purported beer parlor adoption of Senator Udoedeghe. It is all that Udoedeghe worked for as the secretary of the CECPC when he formented problems within the party that led to the severe division and disunity in the party. We have no doubt that our party is blessed with more committed and ingenious persons who can unite the party, inspire hope and lead the party to the first electoral victory of an opposition party in Akwa Ibom State. We call on our dear President, HE Muhammadu Buhari to investigate the 'structure for sale' allegations against Senator Udoedehe, who is alleged to have unlawfully used his office to extort money from politicians in various states with a promise to handover the party structure to them. It is plausible that Udoedeghe's greed and character dysfunction is the remote cause of the severe internal division and factions that plaques the party congresses in many states across the country. In APC Akwa Ibom State, never again as a party shall we be walking backwards with the likes of Senator John James Akpan Udoedeghe. Signed for and unbehalf of The Greater Akwa Ibom Youths Initiative (TGAIYI) Comrade Theophilus Akpan National Cordinator Comrade David Alphonsus Ekerendu Dir. Media and Publicity

Politics / Akwa Ibom State Six Years With Gov Udom Emmanuel by niroreporters: 10:16am On May 29, 2021 |
*AKWA IBOM STATE SIX YEARS WITH GOV UDOM EMMANUEL* In 24 hours time, Gov Udom Emmanuel would be marking the sixth anniversary as Governor of the state and in twenty four months time, his tenure would come to an end. So far, how far has he delivered on his promises to the people of the State?.What does he have to showcase as his signature projects in the state?.What projects has he done successfully and commissioned since the inception of his administration six years ago? Akwa Ibomites are interested in knowing how the government has farred. In assessing the performance of the government, it's important we look at the revenue accrued its coffers between its inception in 2015 and 2020 The financial profile of Akwa Ibom State between 2015 and 2020 stood as follows: 2015 – N243,487,156,965; 2016 – N197,897,843,609; 2017 – N247,158,385,572; 2018 – N314,308,703,102; 2019 – N361,632,433,765; 2020 – N221,329,981,636 This amount to N1,585,814,504,64. The National Bureau of Statistics published the above figures which has been corroborated by the Annual Report of the Accountant General of Akwa Ibom State. We are, arguably, one of the four richest States in the country and if the government has failed in executing its projects successfully, it can't be blamed on paucity of funds. Having stated the financial profile of the government, one can now proceed to assess the performance of the government and in doing this, projects initiated and awarded by the government would be highlighted. 1.Peter Linus Umoh Street, Nsukara Offot, Uyo. With the above statistics,do we have anything to celebrate the 6th anniversary of the PDP government?. In all honesty, can the failed/uncompleted/abandoned projects be celebrated? Yes,some Road projects have been commissioned by the Governor, but that is not commensurate with the kind funds accrued to the coffers of the state government. In six years, the governor has not done up to seven appreciable projects. The government is a government of failed and abandoned projects. In six years, it has taken us back by twenty four years. We've got nothing to celebrate. Rather, we should be mourning and pray God to grant us the divine grace survive the next three years of decline. Politics / What Has Christian Association Of Nigeria(can)been Turned Into?* by niroreporters: 7:22am On May 03, 2021 |
*WHAT HAS CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA(CAN)BEEN TURNED INTO?* Is the Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN)a political group or an appendage of a political party? Is it a propaganda or image laundering machinery of the PDP government in Akwa Ibom State? It is cool if CAN is now an appendage of the party in power, but the fathers of faith can't be allowed to twist, manipulate or suppress facts in their bid to defend the indefensible ineptitude and poor performance of the state government. After all, by their calling, they are expected to tell the truth, preach the truth and defend the truth at all times. This is the first time that a vote of confidence is passed on a government based on uncompleted projects and sadly,it's being done by a body populated by fathers of faith. No.24 on the list of achievements of Governor Udom Emmanuel highlighted by CAN is ridiculous and embarrassing. No. 27 exists on the paper. No.22 is neither here no there. No.15 is inexplicable. Wike of Rivers state has completed three flyovers so far and still counting. No. 5 is an embarrassment to right thinking Akwa Ibomites. No. 26 can't be counted as an achievement of the government. No. 2 is a misplacement of priority and is uncompleted. No. 13 is the real monument and it's only the exterior that seems to have been completed Now can No.14 be as a major achievement of the government?.CAN can do more than that. No. 16 is uncompleted and who knows if it'll ever be complete. No. 7 is nothing to write home about and according to the Governor, it's so because of "Mbiam" invoked on it by some local chiefs. No. 25 is not expressing anything and means nothing No. 23 is uncompleted and who knows if it'll ever be completed. No. 1.....Who owns the aircrafts? No. 4 is uncompleted and may not be completed before the end of the administration. No. 6...Is it the paper approval for the construction of the seaport that should be celebrated or the successful execution and commissioning of the seaport? No. 18 is uncompleted and may not be completed before the end of the administration. Meanwhile, there are not less than 140 verified and located failed/uncompleted/abandoned projects by this government. Some of them are listed below: 1.Peter Linus Umoh Street, Nsukara Offot, Uyo. But, it has been turned into an appendage of the ruling party in the state. It is very embarrassing, disgusting and disappointing to some of us who are members of the body of Christ. *I WOULDN'T FOLLOW UDOM TO APC* *---GOV'S AIDE* As the rumours of the plans by Gov Udom Emmanuel to defect to the APC gains momentum, his personal aide on Media,Rev Richard Peters, has said he wouldn't follow him to the APC. According to him, nobody would follow the Governor to the APC and advise him to have a rethink On the Governor's succession plans,he said his boss would find things difficult, due to the negative public perception and rating of the government. He expressed the fear that Senator Bassey Albert and Rt. Hon. Onofiok Luke are the most preferred guber aspirants in PDP and any attempt by the Governor to impose any unpopular candidate on the party may boomerang.

Politics / Unprovoked And Unwarranted Attacks On Adf And Sen. Akpabio by niroreporters: 11:19am On Apr 18, 2021 |
*BARR EDET BASSEY* *YOUR UNPROVOKED AND UNWARRANTED ATTACKS ON ADF AND SENATOR GODSWILL AKPABIO* I have just finished reading a bunch of gibberishes vomited by you on the ADF and Senator Godswill Akpabio. As a coward, you couldn't sign it off with your name. Let me tell you and your godfathers that the ADF has come to stay and we can't be distracted by idiotic tendencies by cheap minds like you Also,Senator Akpabio remain the most loved, celebrated, popular political actor in Akwa Ibom State. He is the main issue and a colossus in the politics of the state. The ADF is a group of truly committed and loyal members of the APC and Senator Akpabio is our mentor and inspirator. We are so proud of his unmatched and undisputed legacies as Governor of the state. On the other hand, the so-called Akwa Ibom APC Coalition, your faction of the party,is a coalition of bad belle people. It is a group of spent forces with no electoral value. It is body of bittered souls. It is an assembly of mischievous, vicious and treacherous characters who sold APC out in the 2019 elections. It is an assembly of people who are APC in the day and PDP in the night. Ever since the birth of ADF,you people have been so restless, desperate, frustrated and bittered. This is so because you are cowards and empty vessels. Concocting and trending childish lies against Senator Akpabio and whoever you feels he would back for the governorship of the state, wouldn't help the ambition of your governorship aspirant. Akwa Ibomites are not as gullible as you think. What you guys are doing is an outdated strategy. It is a clear indication that you and your godfathers are afraid of a contest for the party's ticket. To you and other mischievous and treacherous characters in the so-called Akwa Ibom APC Coalition, the fear of Senator Akpabio and ADF,is the beginning of wisdom. Apparently, you are so ashamed of talking about your governorship aspirant because he has got no character. In due course,we would call people by their true and real names. APC should beware of those who pocketed the party's campaign funds and stayed back in Uyo on the election day. That the present PDP government in Akwa Ibom State is a scam and has failed irredeemably,is an indisputable statement of fact. It's also an indisputable statement of fact that what we've in the state now,can fairly be described as government of failed and abandoned projects. The picture attached to this post shows the true and current state of the Ikot Akpan Abia road project in Ibesikpo Asutan LGA.The last time any activity took place at the site was in 2016.The road has been messed up and abandoned by the government. Politics / A Reflection Of Akpabio's Era Of Uncommon Transformation by niroreporters: 7:26am On Apr 14, 2021 |
A REFLECTION ON AKPABIO'S ERA OF UNCOMMON TRANSFORMATION(59) CALABAR-ITU DUAL CARRIAGEWAY. This is Calabar Itu road before and after it was dualised by the Senator Godswill Akpabio administration without ground-breaking. Five years down the drain, nobody can point at any major project successfully done by the present PDP government in the state. All that we see in the state now are failed and abandoned projects. The road is one of the five hundred and eighty eight life touching and unbeatable legacies he bequeathed to the state. You may not like him for whatever reasons, but you can't afford to hate or lie against his legacies. He will always remain in his honour and history and posterity would surely be kind to him. #AkpabioIsAlivingLegend #UdomIsAfailure

Politics / The Needless Brouhaha Over Akwa Ibom APC Leadership by niroreporters: 7:17am On Apr 14, 2021 |
The brouhaha over the leadership of the APC in Akwa Ibom State is needless and efforts being made by certain chieftains of the party to dispute and undermine the Senator Godswill Akpabio's leadership of the party are not necessary. Akpabio became the leader of the party by the proclamation of the National leadership of the party at the Ikot Ekpene stadium the day he joined the party. In his capacity as the leader of the party,on Monday, 17th September 2018, HE. Senator Godswill Akpabio led a delegation of APC statkeholders from Akwa Ibom State to meet with President Buhari at State House Abuja. Prior to this time, there has been an APC structure so divided that they couldn't move as one until HE. Akpabio took that leadership step Two years after and in preparation for 2023, the same set that couldn't come together have gathered to say HE. Akpabio can't lead them. Senator Godswill Akpabio is the most outstanding, the most accomplished, the most decorated, the most graced and capacitated leader in AkwaIbom APC,in particular, and the state,in general. He is the most loved and celebrated political actor and the main issue in the politics of the state. As could be seen in the pictures attached to this post,he is the one that introduced them to the President for presidential handshake and they so submitted themselves to his leadership. They all queued behind him. The picture attached to this post speaks volumes of who the leader of the party was then, not to talk of being a current member of the Federal Executive Council. Let me conclude by restating the obvious. By the proclamation of the National leadership of the party and by established precedents and convention,Senator Godswill Akpabio,as the highest political office holder in the party, remains the leader of the party in the state.
