Please can anyone help with a contact who can remould broken/degraded Trojan L16 battery L terminals? I came across a new client who has 3 or 4 broken in a bank of 16.

The would be repairer must be willing to commute to Lekki to perform the fix as client is unwilling to release the batteries to go out of their control/custody.

The terminals seem to have been tightened without washers to spread out the pressure they experienced.
Some "battery charger" shops around you might have the high wattage soldering iron and thick solder used for what you seek.

Here you also have to invent from ground up the value chain of your product(s)

I got it to see if I can learn a thing or two from it to add to my design.... So far so good.

dash me 4 units of 300Watts panel to do a simple proteus simulation on this topic.

The device is basically a three legged variable resistor. A reference or signal sample voltage is fed across two of its legs
while the third leg(make una no think bad thing o) can be adjusted to deliver a fraction of this voltage.

Depending on a manufacturer's design it can be used to change the characteristics of an electronic appliance
e.g volume control knob on old black and white TV. some inverters' output voltage can also be adjusted.

They are best left alone unless you have some knowledge of the board.

In a bid to cut cost because the price of panel mounting kit was too expensive, I had to opt for Locally welded suport but the installer messed things up by nailing to the gutter of the roofing sheets.

my roof has been leaking ever since & I planned to change them during the dry season. My hurdle was how to inform the landlord who stays in same compound with me (a man who sought several assuarances during installation that the roof wont leak)

Long story short, changed about 15 roofing sheets & the man said nothing should go up his roof again. Had to now use iron wood as support (metal was just to expensive). Couldn't choose other location cos of cabling distance & shade.

Well, we learn to live another day... experiences like this turn you into a self taught guru tomorrow.

Unfortunately for us as a nation not only doctors are leaving,
Engineers with many years of valuable training/practice are also
leaving. I know other professionals are also leaving or preparing to do so.

The government has no statistics of professionals employed or unemployed,
entrepreneurs are on their own.

I observed recently that my production performance dropped significantly.
I suspected the panels and on checking the roof I realized that a whole string is damaged.
Please see pic below of the first panel in damaged string.

In your experience what could be the cause of the wire burning in this way and affecting the whole string.

My configuration was 3x2 and is now 3x1.

Looks like a problem from a prolonged short circuit.

for real..there is no made in naija panels, the local made in naija inverters arent good,usually modified sine wave, and not pure sine wave..thus inefficient and prone to overcharging and fire outbreaks.
zinox is not exactly made in nigeria, it more like assembled in nigeria, the govt and enviroment isnt helping at all.

i bought a remote controlled ceiling fan not long ago...and i opened the controller to observe. the circuitry is quite simple, and is what a secondary school student should be able to design and mass produce. it also has an inbuilt timer
i have fallen in love with the remote control aspect of the fan that i wish i can change all the manual controls of my fans to remote control. i wudnt mind buying just the remote controll unit 1k or 2k

There are lots of brilliant minds in Nigeria, unfortunately "man must wack" before any other thing else.
If we had our priorities right as a nation, innovators would have enough time to research and produce quality made in Nigeria goods.

its just after where you would specify ur batt bank capacity in AH.

@bolded, i explained that you need to buy solar racks with adjustable legs!.
see the attached picture, maybe you would understand.for such a steep roof..laying your panels flat is a big NO NO

The solar racks introduce another factor of wind resistance.
There is a tendency for wind to rip them off the roof.

thanks for the insight. however, the point is that the discharge or whatever it is called
didn't seem to have any significant impact on battery cell condition. and for a battery
pushing juice almost 24hrs a day and seven days a week for over 4yrs and counting,
that is quite a remarkable feat.

Alright... meanwhile are you favourably disposed to posting current pictures of

the battery capacity tester can get very hot

Those are called "dummy loads" they are used to discharge your batteries while the tester
works out the discharge rate.... Higher end testers try to test battery capacity without discharging it

Check any electronics spares market ( Oshodi/alaba if you are in Lagos).
I also learnt that Binatone stabilizers use toroidal transformers.
Prag stabilizers also use toroidal transformers.

you can stack smaller torids to get 10KVA
