Suspected criminal burnt to death in Oro, Kwara State. His name is Femi not tunde, I was there this morning The story Femi used to steal bikes popularly known as okada and kill the owners ... Infact, the victim allegedly killed one of my juniors in Secondary school last year, his name is Opeyemi Oluwatosin Awotundun and he took away his bike.. When Femi was arrested, he was later released by the police. It was reported that Femi killed someone called Tunde And one of his eyes was plucked out on Sunday and when they went to his house, the clothes of the guy he killed and snatched bike was found there... He was handover to the police again but information got out that the police was about to release him again, so the police station in Oro was invaded by the aggrieved citizens. After some exchange with the policemen, they flew and the angry residents gained entrance into the station and he was dragged out and burned to death right in front of the police station. |

From my salary, I pay about 15% as tax to the government monthly. When I make certain purchases, stay over in hotels, make flight bookings, shop for groceries, I still pay taxes - consumption tax, VAT, state tax... Most Nigerians I know pay tax. And we don’t even have a say on most of these taxes - they are either deducted from source or they are simply not optional. Yet, I can’t say my life has improved significantly in comparison to my tax deductions and that of million others. Light - we still don’t get 24 hour power supply. Highways - the roads are a nightmare. Security - still not guaranteed. Public Healthcare - mostly inefficient. Public Education - mostly poor. But I pay tithe...voluntarily. A minimum of 10% of my income. I pay offering...voluntarily. Nobody forced me to pay these. I give to Kingdom projects. My church decides to build an edifice that I am proud of...fully complete with AC, waste disposal system, public toilets and other things my government can’t even seem to get right (even at airports - our gateway to the nation!) My church builds a worship center where I am free from distractions and I can communicate freely with God. I don’t pay for anointing services that expand my territory; for communion services that perfect my healing and activate my consciousness for eternal life; for worship programmes that take me to the ThroneRoom of the Master; or for prayer sessions that unlock the mysteries of life and the Kingdom. No, I don’t pay for illumination or direction in any area of my life...Jesus is the LIGHT...as taught in my Church from the Bible. I am not confused about direction or purpose...Jesus is the WAY! My health is intact and when I have a scare and I need someone to pray with/for me...my Pastor gladly steps up and takes authority...charging nothing...because God wishes above all things that I be in health. I have enjoyed covenant security at no cost. Week in, week out, God (through the Church and my Pastors) blesses me...yet my government fails me at every turn! Dear Activist, What exactly have you done to hold government accountable for the taxes they receive but can’t fix the basics of standard living? Yet, you are convinced that you have a moral right to complain about church edifices that members gladly contributed to erect? Focus, my friend. The Church is not your problem! |

Good evening everyone. This is to inform the 2016 sets of futminna that another step was taking this afternoon regarding issues surrounding non payment of our siwes allowance. A leader and I took it upon ourselves to visit ITF office Abuja to meet the *DG*. But on our arrival, the DG was not on seat and we were directed to Area Manager who gave us insight about the issue. He said *ITF doesn't owe any institution siwes alliance unless our skul didn't process the payment*. He further explained that for them to have paid the SET after us, then there's a problem in our school. He reiterated that the fund is domiciled in CBN, that ITF has no access to it, their function is just to okay the payment once all the conditions have bn met by the institution. He said our school should held accountable to non payment of siwes allowance not ITF. He further said dt if FUTMinna insists our names have bn forwarded and no action has bn taken by ITF, they should give me the photocopy of the documents so he can see himself. After leaving the ITF office today, a call was quickly put across to the SIWES Coordinator FUTminna (Dr Tsado). He confirmed all the names have bn forwarded to ITF dt I should give the fone to the person we held meeting with. He concluded dt I should come to skul to confirm instead of calling him on fone. The question here is *where is our siwes allowance*? Pls ask questions, something is fishy. |
