Pep layed emphasis on the fact that his players are not yet comfortable with his style and seeing how his players bleeped up some of their passes from the back which led to Barca's triumph in the 1st leg, he probably told them to clear any ball near their defensive line.. What they couldn't do at the back I.e, build-up play from the back, they made up for it in the midfield and attack. Even Fernandinho had a poor pass % in the DM role because he couldn't afford to make any stupid mistake like they did in the 1st leg. That's why it still baffles me as to how Stone can be regarded as a ball playing defender when he couldn't even display that in a high pressure match. Not forgetting that he almost cost them with his stupid pass once again in the game. Lol!

I won't even say Pep's team played long ball in its entirety.. They dominated Barca's midfield and their attack line were fluid as well.

Anyway, there's no doubt that Pep is quite good and bring out the best in his players but it still all depends on having the right quality in the team.
