How many people know how to use all these ai tools ? You think just because people can browse the net means they are tech savvy? Only few people that takes the pain to learn will actually know how to use these powerful ai tools
It's a matter of time before the database for AI prompts become available and the mass awareness will inform a global shift to Ai production in spaces like movies, short reels, learning tools, campaign drives etc

AutosRe: Guys What Do You Think About This Toyota Yaris Car by nitt: 12:08pm On Jan 28
I use the 03 two door version.

Great fuel economy. Very rugged as per Toyota.

If you can afford to, get the four door version. It's much more convenient as many have said.

I have had strangers walk up to me especially at repair shops asking if it is for sale.

It has great second hand value in the North where I am. The fuel subsidy removal brought this car to the top list of desired cars now.

Buy it especially one with a good engine and you won't regret it

EducationRe: FG Rewards World’s Best English Student Nafisa With ₦200,000 Prize by nitt: 9:40am On Aug 29, 2025
SmartPolician:
There's nothing special about what she did.

People from the South have been breaking such records without getting a dime. Go through Nairaland and see tons of threads about students who won competitions without getting anything.

Now that a Northerner did it, their people started writing articles up and down demanding that the girl be appreciated for doing well in an ordinary English contest. That's because this government has been recognizing and rewarding sportspeople.

What honour does winning an English contest bring to Nigeria again? Did she discover the cure for HIV/AIDS or the solution to climate change? If you have a major scientific breakthrough, NLNG normally gives them $100k in a contest. Novelists get the same amount too.
A myopic view on the matter.

Though, many are not suprised.

After all, you are a Nigerian and with Nigerians that reason like you do, the country will definitely be in shambles.

amaridigital:
I agree with you on this. To me I think Nigeria shouldn't be in the business of honoring speakers of language of some evil colonial master whose population is less than one thirds of Nigeria. The British should get monetary reward for speaking our local language more than us. Where is our national pride? Leaders of China, India and Russia consider it inferior to be speaking English, a small nation not up to the province of Shanghai. Let the British go and learn our language
What a myopic view on the topic. Smh!
EducationRe: FG Rewards World’s Best English Student Nafisa With ₦200,000 Prize by nitt: 9:34am On Aug 29, 2025
JimRohn:
Your comment reflects a narrow and dismissive view of academic excellence. Let’s address your points logically:

1️⃣ Undermining Academic Achievement
You ask, “What honour does winning an English contest bring to Nigeria?” — yet you forget that English is our official language, the medium of governance, law, education, and diplomacy. Excelling at the highest global level in it is no “ordinary contest.” It is a mark of intellectual capacity, discipline, and international competitiveness. A country that cannot appreciate excellence in language and academics is setting itself up for mediocrity.

2️⃣ On Recognition and Fairness
You claim southerners have been achieving without reward, but the solution is not to belittle this young lady. It is to demand fair recognition for all. Should we punish her because others were ignored? That logic breeds bitterness, not progress. The achievement stands on its own merit and deserves to be celebrated.

3️⃣ Comparing with HIV or Climate Change
Your comparison is misplaced. Not every achievement must be a “scientific breakthrough” to deserve honour. Do we only celebrate Olympic athletes who cure diseases? Of course not. Every sphere of human endeavour — sports, arts, science, or language — contributes to national pride and inspiration.

4️⃣ Value of Symbolic Rewards
₦200,000 is not about “buying” her achievement; it is about encouragement. It sends a message to millions of Nigerian students that excellence will be noticed. That motivation can produce the scientists, inventors, and innovators of tomorrow.

👉 In summary: instead of trivializing her success because she comes from a region you seem to resent, you should see it as an opportunity to advocate recognition for all Nigerian achievers. Progress is not made by tearing down one achiever to make a point — it is made by building a culture that celebrates and rewards excellence across board.
Well stated, Sir.

Hello brothers and sisters, I taught I should share this and seek your opinion on behalf of a friend, a friend of mine got his inheritance of 2 plots of land which is valued at about 15m-20m He’s a graduate of Mechanical Engineering from EKSU, a teacher in a very big private secondary school in osun state, he’s in his early 30’s not married,he has 3 options, a friend of he’s who is into imported building materials wants to take him to china and teach him how to import and sell goods, the guy is pretty succesful, secondly he wants to buy a government job slot and thirdly he wants to process a work visa to Australia.my advise to him was to go for Australia. Pls advise like you would give yourself smiley
Buy a govt job slot - monthly income, future security - benefits and pension.

Buy a farm land - spend atleast 1million to do the farming - guaranteed food for a year and can sell.

Invest in multiple small business - get 2 or 3 or more small businesses (i.e partnerships that need to boost their capital) and arrange a profit sharing ratio. E.g local restaurant, small chops business, printing stall, po.s business etc

Fix deposit - fix yr funds in this fintechs like palmpay etc and get favourable returns on investment.

Depending on yr location - 10 to 12 million will cover all this.

You have 18 million remaining. Goodluck.

@op attach yourself to a small business outfit if you know anyone in the field.

A printing shop, a pharmacy, an agro-feeds store or the likes. You'll learn on the job, get the skills to operate the business, and you will make money too when you refer jobs to the outfit.

Or, you may invest in small fast food roadside points, you can agree on a partnership with a lady or a mama that can run it, while you buy the needed items like pots, pans, nylons, gas, etc.... and you'll agree on a profit sharing percentage.

Those sort of businesses earns so much money on a low.

Another example of decentralisation (indirect restructuring) by this government. Including local government autonomy.

Exactly what Southerners have been asking for over the years.

Yet, some Southerners are clamouring for Mr Atiku in 2027 against a bold Southern president that is doing his best to reduce the concentration of power at the centre.

Only a few days ago, the federal government launched the start of construction of a new airport in Abia.

Yet, some people are hell bent on voting another Northern President so soon after Mr Buhari.

PhonesRe: Which Durable Android Phone Can I Buy With A Budget Of 100-120k? by nitt: 8:30pm On Oct 20, 2024
Op for a new decent device at yr price range (not beyond N100k is the itel A70).

IF you are strictly on that range it's the best you can get.

But my advice is add N5k to yr budget and get an itel p55t.

It's better than the a70.

Get minimum 4gb ram and 128gb storage.

Look for a good store with affordable prices.

NB - The earlier the better cos the price can rise within 24 hrs as per naija factor.

Goodluck

SportsRe: Olympic Games: Team Nigeria’s Bag Of Scandals by nitt: 9:39pm On Aug 03, 2024
blueghost:
So many incompetent clowns in government that have no business being there, the recent developments surrounding Nigeria's preparation for the Paris Olympics have raised significant concerns. It's disheartening to see the apparent lack of readiness, which reflects poorly on our nation's governance and organizational abilities. The incompetence displayed by certain officials, who seem to have no business being in their positions, only exacerbates the situation.
The Olympics is a global stage, and our performance—or lack thereof—will be a testament to our capabilities and commitment. Unfortunately, as things stand, it seems we are on track for a major embarrassment. This is not just a failure of the sports ministry but a broader failure of the government to prioritize and effectively manage crucial national interests.
Nigerians deserve better. Our athletes deserve better support and infrastructure. It is a shame that instead of showcasing our talent and potential, we are likely to present a disorganized and unprepared front to the world.
It's high time for a thorough reassessment and urgent corrective measures. The government must demonstrate a serious commitment to excellence and accountability. Anything less would not only undermine our athletes but also diminish Nigeria's reputation on the world stage.
Well captured.
