salford1:Hello salford, I have a masters degree in microbiology and 2 Years Experience in the food industry, please can u advice me on the bridging program that will enable me secure a job in the food industry. I will be landing in May and hope to reside in Calgary |
hello please I’m also microbiologist. Have a masters degree and 2 years experience in the food industry. Please what type of bridging programs did u find out. Just got my PPR, will be moving in May. Hi @salford1, I've not had much experience in the laboratory as a microbiologist apart from the experience I got during my 6 months SIWES training out of school when I was in 300L. The work experiences I've had over the years are; 1. Program Assistant in an NGO (maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS related)and; 2. Currently a data analyst at a maternal and child health hospital. That being said, my plan is to go back in line with my course of study my focus being on food safety/quality assurance and i've actully thought going back to school to take some courses will do the trick. The reason why I brought up the question was because I've always been told that Microbiology isn't a professional course even when my friends and I discuss about the inability to secure a job at a hospital as a microbiologist as a medical laboratory scientists is given preference over us and wanted to know if same applies over there. I wouldn't also mind taking some courses to fit back into the NGO world ( WHO,UNDP and the likes) as it was such a breeze working with those innocent mothers and children. And please don't judge me because I asked about fitting in as a microbiologist and now diverted to working in an NGO I'm just keeping my options open here. And thanks to @vole and @winterpeg for chipping in[/quote] |

Pheisharah:Family sponsorship is my way but I also paid fee for open work permit together with permanent residence. Hubby paid for the two for me. |
RedDoor:My hubby is a Canadian citizen and is sponsoring me now. My last stage was medicals which I passed on June 4th. Since then nothing yet. I'm hopeful that I will get PPR this week. |
waya1:It's not unusual. It's still within the 12 months processing time. I'm in the same situation as well. However they've started contacting December applicants, ours is different from sowp peeps |

petiteee:s Congrats dear |
petiteee:Interview was at oshodi bt resuming at mushin. |
sabiguy:Lol. It was not easy at all. Imagine waiting for almost a month.April 6 to May 5. All i did was to analyse the master list which was attached to the mail sent for medicals. Got in touch wt peeps whose name was before and after my name. That was how i deduced it was done alphabetically. I knew i was gonna be in d next batch when i found out that the last person called was 5 names to my name. So all i was then praying for was just to pass d medicals. Thank God it all ended in praise. To all those waiting, have faith. God will do it. |
MznAirA:Congrats to us dear. Got d mail too. Sent u a dm. Lets keep in touch. |
clemment:Send a dm |

Halfcastbreed:not yet o. u? when did u do ur medicals? |
good evening all. Please I applied today for the operations position. I got an invite to write the online numeracy test an hour later. But what I want to ask is this, I thought the first stage is situational judgement test. How come I wasn't sent that first? |
