Truly, wonders shall never end! 61 year old Laila
Gledhill is
proving that "age ain’t nothing but a number." She
proudly
asserts that dating men in their 20s keeps her looking
and
feeling young.
Her predilection for dating younger men began after a
failed marriage with her childhood sweetheart, Marcus
who
was two years younger than her. They got married
when
she was 27-years-old, but they met when she was 17.
After 14 years of marriage, Marcus left Gledhill for a
younger woman.
“He was my first love. We had known each other since
we
were teenagers. But now Marcus was telling me he
wanted
to leave me for a woman in her early thirties who was
thinner, taller and prettier than me. I kicked him out.
Marcus walking out on me made me really think about
what I deserved in life and from men,” she said.
Gledhill is currently dating several younger men and
she is having the time of her life. “ No man over 40
has ever approached me. Dating toyboys has kept me
looking young and given me a zest for life. I feel like
my appearance has stood still in time because of the
way younger men treat me . From my experience,
younger men treat older women with respect, find
them infinitely more attractive and genuinely enjoy
their company. And the s*x is so much better. Older
men often have baggage and a bigger belly. Why
should I be with a sixty-year-old man when I can be
one who is twenty-four?”
A few weeks after Marcus left, the UK lady, who was a
41-
year-old divorcee at the time, met a handsome 21-year-
old
army officer named David. Afterwards, Marcus begged
her
to take him back but she refused.
“Sorry Marcus but I’ve met someone who’s younger
than
you and fitter than you,” she said to him.
She and David got married, but their marriage only
lasted
for five years, as his parents disliked the age gap
between
them. After the relationship ended, she moved on to
28-
year-old Peter, who proposed to her. While they were
engaged, he cheated on her with numerous older
women he
had been sending messages to via online dating
website,
ToyBoy Warehouse. She subsequently broke up with
Peter,
and then joined the website, where she got lots of
attention
from younger men.
“When I joined, I was bombarded by hundreds of
messages
and complements from young professional men. I
couldn’t
even respond to all of them – they were so many! It
was
like being in a sweet shop full of good looking toyboys.
I
decided to stay on the website,” she said.

Last week, a blind item of a story went round the Naija
blogosphere that a popular Nollywood actress was set
to
marry her colleague’s ex-husband. After a lot of go
arounds on the gossip vine, the names of the actresses
involved has been confirmed as Nkiru Sylvanus and
Oge
Okoye.
Oge and Nkiru both started off in Enugu as actresses
before Oge allegedly met and started dating Stanley,he
was already dating Nkiru and both were in a
relationship
that many thought was going to lead to a blissful
marriage.
Reportedly, Oge Okoye moved in with Amsterdam-
based
Stanley Duru in 2006 while he was already dating Nkiru
Sylvanus in Nigeria.
After Oge got pregnant, Stanley Duru dumped Nkiru
while she was already planning their marriage and paid
the bride price for Oge Okoye just before they
welcomed
their son in December 2006. The marriage was rocked
by a scandal but after reconciliation, Oge took in again
and delivered a baby girl in 2010.
Allegedly, the marriage hit a dead end over 2 years ago
when they couldn’t get past the scandal which
was supposedly about an extra-marital affair Oge
Okoye
had with another man while married.
Some say it is because of the shady beginnings of her
relationship with Stanley Duru and the rocky nature of
their relationship that Oge Okoye never flaunted his
pictures or talked about him to the press.

Oge Okoye also did not reveal her marriage breakup to
the media, hoping they would reconcile as usual,
however, that never happened.
Instead, earlier this year, Stanley Duru got back
together
with Nkiru Sylvanus and now the two are planning to
get
married in the next few days, according to Stella
Dimorkorkus.

The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has distributed not less than 80,000 chickens and 100,000 bags of rice to the Ekiti people between Thursday and Friday.
His Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, who disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday in Ado-Ekiti said the Christmas largesse including cash gift were distributed under the stomach infrastructure programme.
According to him, people of the State who continued to besiege the Governor’s office in their large numbers as well as those who had theirs delivered to them at their domain were amazed at the milk of kindness of the Governor, saying it has been long such has occurred in the State.
“Some of the elderly who could not hide their joy at the rear opportunity of having to celebrate the season with the package poured torrents of prayers on the man they referred to as supporter of a common man.
“As early as 10:00am, the Governor alongside several members of staff had started distributing the package to the people who kept appearing in their multitudes.”
Adelusi said some of the beneficiaries noted that the gesture had again reaffirmed the governor as a graasroots man to the core.
“They appreciated the governor for putting himself in the shoes of the common man who may find it difficult to prepare sumptous meal to his family at this period of festivity,” he added.
