I personally think only an insane, bittered, negative and a myopic person would say this wasnt a nice get together. If you think something was not right then keep those to yourself. Its a huge effort to come out of your comfort zone, journey all the way to Elegushi to meet new folks you have never seen which in itself requires some form of confidence and a sign of a healthy personality. Great stuff guys. You all look good and your rectitude is commendable. |
dayjahvoo:Don't lets blame. That was a past event now chief. Morning and trust you are well. |
alex81:If it is added that the weight should not be more than 1mb then let it be less or 1mb. If it is not specified then its fine. |
donmatin:Happy new year chief and good luck to you. |
Rochero:As instructed. If there were no instructions with regards to that, then you could write it in the body of your email in two paragraphs. Short and precise. |
Truflame:HR job is on the line if s/he recruits the wrong candidate. Most times they are trying to replace people and s/he has a responsibility to get reliable employees. If an applicant cannot follow instructions in the first place then it paints the person as someone who doesn't get himself or herself together and its the first red flag. Besides, that does not require experience you would agree with me. They are just simple and common sense instructions as was given in your exams in school too. If subject says: Head Of Operations. Dont write it as: Application For The Head Of Operations In Your Company (It wont even be received) because they are like computer commands. But I get your point, thanks. Just wanted to help. 2017 guys... You cannot keep making same mistakes over and over again... So I want to share very simple, yet!!! Important tips when sending an application via email. Note: Please read carefully. What led to this topic? Last week I was privileged to have the opportunity to recruit two new guys for my team and my HOD had insisted that I used my official email to receive resumes. I already envisaged the number of resumes I would get knowing fully well the rate of unemployment in Nigeria. So... I was unhappy that my email would be very busy with lots of spam Unfortunately too, we did not currently have any HR software that shuffles CV: http://www.hrtechnique.com/2016/08/how-to-ensure-hr-administrators-get.html What did I do? I went to my email settings, started playing around, and I found a solution. I was able to create a different label (box) but I had to give it a title name and I had to (without choice) specify what type of message title comes inside, what type of file can be received and what the weight of the file should be. Problem solved. What does this imply? It means any email without that title name or files above the specified weight will not be archived. What did I notice?. After publishing the vacancy, specifying what the subject of the email should be and what the maximum weight should be for resumes as well as the file type... A host of graduates still went ahead (stubbornly) to do what they think is right rather than do as instructed. The three simple but important tips: That being said, when applying via email, ensure the following is observed. 1. Note and obey what the recruiter has specified that your email subject should be. Otherwise you will not hear from the recruiter because he wont receive it. Don't add your own words. 2. Same as above, follow the instructions regarding whether it should be in PDF or Word. There is a reason why they said so. 3. Lastly, Ensure the file is not above the required weight. Tip: Be straight to the point in your application. I doubt recruiters read them. They go straight to your cv. If they ever read your email, let it be straightforward. Related articles on: www.hrtechnique.com |
@ tafrica @GMB4REAL sorry I flared up. It was not necessary that I got upset. Yes! Traffic is important to me but more importantly is the power of information you guys are privy to via my blog. The updates I gave was actually from a friend... ex politician son who was my classmate in school back then and is in Abuja but you know everything is hearsay. If I have more info, will share. |
Cool stuff. I should participate in this one this time around |
@tafricaHi chief, see the below from me: Thanks for your concerns and morning to you.See one of your fellow applicants words: Weldone, please what are the new updates? Can u share it with us even if u haven't verified it? Afterall u have already said it that u haven't verified the authenticity of the update & that u don't post false information. U r absolutely right & iam with u on that. I also think it is not wrong to share an unverified info as long as u let people know that the story is unconfirmed. There is nervousness in the house i think & I'm not sure if there's anybody that is not willing to have a latest info even if not verified. ThanksWhy were you so fast to discard my update? You dont know me and you dont know my source. I am just trying to help out. What I shared was from a good source here in Abuja and if you like it take it or not. Yes there is a huge bug and problems with the whole recruitment and that was why I just said be patient. Lets see how it unfolds. I am not a joker nor some jobless person, just trying to help. ADVISE: Its not a good attitude when you aim to bring others down without verification, evidence or knowledge. My last update on this thread. |

ConcNiggress56:Lol. Funny stuff. I get you. ![]() |
Tosyne2much, I get Fabulocity points. You guys made one single mistake. #Not engaging a mod to bring down all those comments from guys who just dont think right by typing words that discourage, objectify women and disgrace malefolks. Their words could actually discourage lots of girls from attending but I also agree that most guys who talk that way may not be able to even say hi. I think this event is a superb one. One that could given people an opportunity for new contacts, networks, friends and who knows; "partners". Wish you guys a fun time tomorrow. |

kilode100:I actually think she has a lot of time on her hands too. She is bored so I want to agree with you. I think she will come out of it. Just a phase. |
ConcNiggress56:Thats a crazy recommendation though. Well, you could be a therapist who knows. So maybe you know what you are saying but didnt sound right to me. |
Berbierklaus:Funny... |
Maybe my opinion might change today after I see other comments. I actually believe that theres just one thing that keeps relationships together and its; "Choice". The choice to stick with a partner no matter what. For me, its not love (I actually dont believe in love). |

jimnozi:Yes. It could be the problem. The software may have counted your application as invalid BUT like I said, its in batches and who knows, you may still get an opportunity. |
dayjahvoo:Hey dayjahvoo, Thanks for your opinion. Appreciate. What I actually do is delete the former one and post a new one. That link you are seeing is the only one on this entire thread but thanks for your points. Noted and wont post it again. Its been deleted. If I have new updates, will inform you guys. Regards. |
donasere:Thanks for your concerns and morning to you. I actually have new updates but have not verified it. I do not post false information on my blog so I need to verify it before updating. I must agree that you are absolutely right about what you said. Its duly noted. Cheers. |
jimnozi:Its in batches. Be patient... As long as there were no errors in your application. |
donasere:I usually dont reply mentions but will oblige you. 1. I think as long as the post is relevant to the topic, the mods wont ban (At the end of the day, remember its the mods job not yours). 2. Mention me on any other places you see this link. 3. I posted a helpful link that took time to compile and relevant to the thread and I keep posting for others to see irrespective of whether it will give me traffic or not. 4. Except the link did not help you or others then will stop (People just do not appreciate). ... But your concerns are appreciated. How is the season going with you?. |
Great |
wheezie24:I appreciate your perspective. |
