Information reaching us has it that the governor of imo state has Dumped the party All Progressives Congress for Social Democratic Party.
According to sources, the governor and his inlaw moved to the SDP in order to contest for the governorship election.
this is coming barely 48 hours to the publication of candidates name by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Having lost out of the party's leadership, the governor is furious, His son-in-law is furious that their candidates both in the National Assembly State house of Assembly lost out in the primaries organised by the leadership of the party.

*WHY IMO CHIEF JUDGE, NNADI SHOULD BE TRANSPARENT*- _Group_

The Chief Judge of Imo State, Justice Paschal Nnadi has been called upon to remain transparent in the discharge of his duties, having maintained an undented image since he ventured into legal profession.

This call was made by a non-political group known as "Orlu Zone Forum of Professionals". Briefing newsmen shortly after their emergency meeting at Hotel De General Nwankpi, Orlu local government area of Imo State, Leader of the group, Barr Chimezie Esomonu pointed out that following a rumoured pressure on Justice Nnadi by self induced politicians to be lured into doing their bidding towards ensuring that the embattled Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere was impeached at all cost, the group advised him not to soil his hard earned reputation for prosperity sake.

Barr Esomonu maintained that in as much as the Chief Judge is performing his constitutional duties, there is need for him to be transparent not be deceived by desperate politicians whose stock in trade were to use the purported impeachment move on Prince Madumere to rubbish his image, and called on him to use his position as the Chief Law Officer of the state to maintain peace.

According to Barr Esomonu, Orlu people have nothing to loose if the Deputy Governor, Eze Madumere is impeached, but due to inter-zonal altercations that would arise thereafter, the state may not be able to contain it having lost a former deputy Governor, Sir Jude Agbaso, an Owerri zone man to impeachment.

He said, "This is the time for everyone to leave politics alone and face reality, in as much as we commend our son and Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha for his giant strides in the state, we therefore condemn in its totality the role said to have been played by our son to impeach his Deputy that has served him for years. Our Forum therefore sees no moral and legal justification to continue with this suicidal mission. With no fear or favour, Owerri people have assisted Orlu Zone to arrive where we are today, and we see no reason to make ourselves enemies with Owerri people hence, we plead with our son, Owelle Okorocha, and the Chief Judge, Paschal Nnadi to discontinue with this move"

"While we advise our son not to do this to a man that suffered for him in life when he was never a Governor, we also call on the Chief Judge, Justice Nnadi not to join issues or accept to carry out another coup on his people of Owerri Zone, but if Justice Nnadi, an Owerri Zone man ignores our call and goes ahead to facilitate the impeachment of his brother, Orlu people will relax and continue to laugh at Owerri people who will be considered as enemies of themselves"

Furthering, Barr Esomonu also appealed to every warring group to shelve their sword for the peace and unity of the state, while praying God not to allow political interest to override the collective interests of Imo people for a better society.

The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere heartily felicitates with the winner of Ekiti gubernatorial election, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, describing his victory as well deserved.
Prince Madumere attributed Fayemi’s victory to Ekiti people’s appreciation of his monumental contributions to the State during his first tenure in the office, saying the people must have reviewed his performance in full appreciation.
He extolled the ruling party at the center led by President Mohammadu Buhari for sacrificing self-interest in advancing Nigerian democracy by insisting that elections are free and fair.
He also applauded him for the strategic way the economic down-turn was handled, which led to the recovery being experienced in the country coupled with obstinate stance against corruption is a fact that every Nigerian ought to appreciate.
The number two citizen of the Imo State therefore called on the people of the South East zone to support President Buhari led administration and his re-election bid following his sincerity of purpose vis-à-vis socio-economic driven developmental projects in the zone.
He enumerated some of the signature projects of President Buhari led government in the zone for which the people of the South East had cried out to the previous governments but were ignored. Among some of them are the Second Niger Bridge, Enugu-Awka express road, Enugu-Portharcourt express way, Owerri-Aba road dualisation project and many others.
Prince Madumere describing agriculture and agribusiness as the nucleus of every economy, which bothers on food security and sustainability, he extolled All Progressives Congress for the rewarding huge investment in the sector with Rice Anchor Borrowers Fund, which has reduced the nation’s reliance in foreign rice.
He however called for patience in the area of security challenges occasioned by the herders, assuring the people that the situation will be brought under control with President Buhari having vowed to fight the situation head on. He reminded that President Buhari’s success story in reducing to the barest minimum the activities of the Boko Haram insurgents is a case in point.

MADUMERE EMERGES “INTEGRITY MAN OF THE YEAR” 2018

The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere has emerged Nigerian Association of Christian Journalists (NACJ) 2018 “INTEGRITY MAN OF THE YEAR.”



The Deputy Governor was conferred with the prestigious Award during the practicing Christian Journalists umbrella body’s Annual “2018 AWARD & LECTURE series.



According to the General Secretary of the association, Dr. Charles Okhai, the choice of Madumere for this year’s most prestigious award category is hinged on the association’s discovery of who he is and the qualities embedded in his character, having watched with keen interest over the years and are proud to identify with his personality, diligence, patriotism, honesty as one of the best Deputy Governors in Nigeria, demonstrating high level humility that is not known among politicians.



His words: “Since his days as Chief of Staff and now as Deputy Governor of Imo State, we came to the realization that he is worthy of this award at this present time other, as this honour is bestowed on eminent Nigerians who have over the years distinguished themselves in all spheres of their careers as integrity conscious leaders which Madumere symbolizes, a rare bred God fearing politician in Nigeria, therefore this award.



His unassuming nature, loyalty and obedience to laid-down rules and regulations as a Nigerian politician, even when not convenient endeared him to us. The humility he exudes and that which he shows towards his boss, even in the face of total deprivation as his office as Deputy Governor would require is one you can’t find anywhere near any politician of today and so the association decided to use him as Role Model amongst Nigerian politicians with this symbol of honour bestowed on him at this award ceremony.



The selection that culminated into the choice of Eze Madumere for the most revered award went through a rigorous process during the association’s National Executive Members Nomination Exercise which produced him as the best among others, after-which voting was carried out by members through SMS nationwide, which also had him emerge as the most deserving candidate for the award.”





Responding, Eze Madumere said: “When I got the news of my being chosen as the recipient of this year’s highly rated award from this great Association of Christian Journalists, I asked myself what I had done to merit such as honour, it wasn’t until the letter of nomination was given to me that I understood the criteria for such an award and I simply would say, I appreciate this show of love and encouragement coming from an association that boasts of its membership across the entire nation and what this award tells me is to remain resolute in towing the path of honour.”



Furthermore the Imo State Deputy Governor opined that Integrity as the word sounds is something that is noticeably disappearing in our society today, therefore, when one is chosen amongst many to be honoured for displaying such is his daily activities, it is something worth giving glory to God for and I give thanks to God for the opportunity such as this in my political career in Imo State and in Nigeria as a whole.



I strive daily to uphold principles of dignity, sincerity, integrity and total humility in all I do and these are the qualities that have seen me through this far in both private and Public sectors. I hereby urge the youths and other leaders never to trade away their integrity.



Prince Madumere is an astute administrator and a management consultant. He attended Primary and Secondary Education in Owerri and Lagos State respectively. He traveled to the United States of America for further studies, where he studied Management and Business Administration in San-Jacinto College and University of Houston in Texas respectively. He holds Masters-Degree in History and International Studies from Imo State University and currently pursuing his Ph.D. in History and International Relations.

While in the United States of America, he made tremendous impact in the corporate America. Among other ‘A’ class firms, he was also an Area Manager in PepsiCo Inc. for many years and also played a key role in expanding KFC businesses. It was the business of the Multinational firms that took him to over 60 countries of the world.

Other dignitaries present at event were Retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, Tunde Ogunsaki, who was the Chairman of the occasion, other prominent Nigerians such as the Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Bello Masari, Hon. Bayo Osinowo of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Senator Ben Bruce, Her Excellency, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, Chief Justice of Lagos State, Hon. Justice Opeyemi Oke, Chartered Diplomat, Dr. Kunle Hamilton, Dr. Orji Uzor-Kalu, Dr. Uche Ogah, Dr. Alex Otti were amongst other prominent Nigerians who were honoured at the event.



The award identifies Eze Madumere as Nigeria’s Symbol of Integrity and a worthy Ambassador of the Nigerian Association of Christian Journalists (NACJ).

The Imo State APC Congress has been concluded the program which started on May 5, 2018 and concluded two Saturdays ago did not end without the razzmatazz associated with party politics as different camps battled for honours.
Though, the ward congress is a matter before the court when the faction traceable to Governor Rochas Okorocha proceeded to the Federal High Court, Owerri, to seek redress.
However, with the outcome of the congresses appearing cloudy at the state level, reports from the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja State that a list of Ward, LGA and State officials have been deposited to occupy the office.

Our editorial crew takes a look at the losers and winners of the congresses.
Losers
ANAYO ROCHAS OKOROCHA
The state governor is one of the greatest losers. After boasting of having enormous prowess to send those challenging him to the cleaners and retiring some, Okorocha has turned into a complainant since the congress commenced, till date.
His desire to have firm control the state structure as a first plot to install his son in-law, Uche Nwosu has suffered a serious setback. The governor is said to be running from “pillar to post” for a rescue and how to launch back into reckoning after suffering defeats. But as a Chief Executive who can’t boast of a Ward Chairman even in his Ideato South LGA, he is one of the main losers to be mentioned.
UCHE NWOSU
The second in command in the governor’s political family cannot be wished away easily in the records of those who lost out. As the governor choice for a suceessor, Uche is banking on the support of the father in-law to make real his ambition of becoming number one citizen of the state.
But with his camp of APC losing the soul of APC and Okorocha seeking a way back, it is obvious that he is also a loser and chances of his Ugwumba Movement becoming a reality is bleak.
CHIKE OKAFOR:
The fortune of House of Reps member who braced all odds to be elected in 2015 to have a second shot at the lower chamber of the National Assembly has nosedived if the result of the congresses are considered. Okafor who is House Committee Chairmen on Health is a strong member of the Okorocha political camp that lost out completely. The former finance commissioner in Imo was banking on getting the control of the party structure in his Okigwe South Federal Constituency to outwit main challenger, Hon Emeka Nwajiuba of the “Allied Forces”. The outcome showed he has joined Okorocha and Co to wail on the manner his supporter didn’t get the party offices.
NNAMDI OBIARERI:
After failing to get the ticket of PDP to run for senate position in 2015, Prof Obiareri may be in again for a wild goose chase again considering his Okorocha line up that failed to pick offices in ward, LGA and State Congresses of APC. It has been a disquiet situation among Okorocha’s followers he “endorsed” for positions as the camp is yet to be sure of what the future has for them. Obiareri, a serving commissioner is billed to run for Okigwe zone senate through Okorocha’s backing. Except there is an otherwise, no way for the law teacher.
EMMA OJINERE:
The Owerri zone senate hopeful will not have easy to scale the hurdles of the primaries if the names of party officials who emerged after the congresses are considered. Following the decline of the Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere who snubbed Okorocha’s Owerri zone senate endorsement, the name of Ojinere came up. But doom awaits the aspiration of the Ahiazu Mbaise commissioner the result of the congresses are considered.
RAPHEAL NNANNA IGBOKWE:
The member representing Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Mbaise in the House of Reps may be regretting why he dumped PDP for APC as he is nowhere near the map of APC structure in his constituency. Igbokwe is also a pro-Okorocha and part of new force of Rescue Mission since he started hobnobbing with Uche Nwosu and Rescue Missionaries.
Ahead of the congress, Igbokwe who was hopeful that Okorocha will have his way donated cars and other attractive items to the APC officials with the hope they will back him for a third tenure that will make him eligible to stand for principal office position in the House of Reps if he wins in 2019. The new composition may see him not able to pick APC ticket since none of his cronies he gave vehicles and other material gifts made the list at APC National Secretariat.
CHARLES AMADI:
Popularly known as Chalvon, Charles Amadi from Ikeduru falls into the losers category. The former leader of the out of favour OZOPOLF and now chieftain of Ugwumba Movement had his dreams of becoming APC state chairman cut off by the congress. Trumpeta learnt that Chalvon remains Okorocha sure bet for the position of chairman to pave way for the emergence of his son inlaw, until the congresses knocked him off. The cult figure Chalvon was receiving as the de facto chairman against Keke has reduced as indications that he has lost out from the intrigues has emerged.
UGONNA OZURUIGBO:
The Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, had hinged all his hope on the capacity of Okorocha to carry the day to enable him pick the ticket of Nkwerre/Isu/Njaba/Nwangele Federal Constituency ticket under APC. But the turn-around in the congress has put his ambition in a tight corner as he has no hold of any LGA official to hold on for the primaries.
ACHO IHIM
Imo State House of Assembly who leads the APC members in the House joined to be in a sad mood as Okorocha camp rues the loss of zero control of party structure. Since the governor didn’t allocate any political position to him unlike other strong apostles of Rescue Mission, Ihim is tipped to be running mate to Nwosu in the arrangement of the Team Okorocha. But the heavy defeat in the hands of Allied Forces is a possible nunc dimities to the Speaker’s political career in 2019.
Winners
OSITA IZUNASO
The National Organizing Secretary of APC has proved his worth by using the vintage office at the national level to ensure the Allied Forces emerged victorious. Trumpeta gathered that the tactical approach adopted by Izunaso and Co made them to smile at the end of the exercise. The delegates will ensure he returns to occupy the post against challenges posed by Okorocha and Co who wanted him but by all means.
IFEANYI ARARAUME:
The victory of the Allied Forces can be said to be a big boost to the ambition of Araraume to govern Imo State .Since the first hurdle is to capture the structure and get the delegates to elect the flagbearer, the Isiebu, Isiala Mbano born top shot is a winner in this aspect. Most of the officials of the party have affinity with him.
BEN UWAJUMOGU:
Senator representing Okigwe zone has every reason to rejoice and start plotting for a second term in office after Okorocha publicly declared that he won’t make it and went ahead to adopt one of his commissioners as successor.
Uwajumogu, maximized his congress secretary position to sway victory to his side thereby having the new party officials as his loyalists. This development has put his challengers in difficult situation to torpedo his ambitions of a back-to-back chance.
EZE MADUMERE:
The Imo State Deputy Governor appears to be the greatest victor in the battle. Considering the risk he took to break an age-long relationship with his principal and joined the Allied Forces to subdue Okorocha, the efforts Madumere to pitch tenth with the coalition did not go in vain where he can now boost of producing ward, LGA and State officials in the arrangement. His ally, Chief Hillary Eke still retained the position of the state party chairman. The belief was that if Madumere separates from Okorocha, there won’t be a head way for him the coming political dispensation. But he has proved bookmakers wrong to laugh last while his boss is still gnashing teeth for the congress misfortune.
JUDE EJIOGU:
The former secretary to the state government, SSG, belongs to the category of winners having dumped Okorocha’s Rescue Mission to fight for the congress on the side of the coalition. His efforts paid off handsomely to be called a victory in the battle. He has a gain.
TOE EKECHI:
Ngor Okpala born politician surprised many when he launched a major missile against Okorocha with the Imerienwe Declaration. He contained and fought on the side of coalition to upset the governor in the control of party structure. He is a force to reckon with in Imo APC after the congresses as he leads the media war to upset the governor.
UZOMA OBIYO:
The front runner in the coalition have had his opposition to the governor’s control of party structure justified with the outcome of the congress. His rumoured intention to run for the office of the governor can now join the fray for 2019 Guber.
ICHIE MBANASO:
The Orlu born politician was almost vilified when he joined the coalition to stop Okorocha. He suffered vendetta but the outcome of the congress is a consolation to the former commissioner in the governor’s cabinet.

AS YOUR DEPUTY GOVERNOR, WITH ALL THE CONSTITUTIONAL BOTTLE-NECKS AND LIMITATIONS, I HAVE IN MY OWN LITTLE WAY ATTRACTED LIFE-CHANGING PROGRAMMES AND PROJECTS TO BETTER THE LOTS OF IMO PEOPLE. I DID SO BECAUSE I DO NOT HAVE ANY REASON WHATSOEVER NOT TO IMPACT ON THE LIVES OF THE PEOPLE THAT GAVE US ALL THE OPPORTUNITIES TO SUPERINTEND THE AFFAIRS OF THE STATE. FOR SOME OF YOU WHO MAY NOT BE IN THE KNOW, THE PROGRAMMES LIKE NEWMAP WHICH IS CHECKING ALL THE EROSION SITES IN IMO STATE CAME THROUGH MY OFFICE AND TODAY SOME OF THE COMMUNITIES IN OUR DEAR STATE HAVE HEAVED A SIGH OF RELIEF WITH THE RECOVERY OF THEIR ERODED LAND FOR BOTH FARMING AND RESIDENCE.

I WAS ALSO ABLE TO REMEDY OUR STRAINED RELATIONSHIP WITH WORLD BANK AND OTHER INTERNATIONAL DONOR AGENCIES. THIS EFFORT OPENED DOORS FOR NEGOTIATIONS, WHICH LED TO THE RECOVERING OF (STATE AGENCY FOR CONTROL OF AIDES) SACA. WITH SACA, THOSE LIVING WITH HIV GET THE NEEDED INTENSIVE MEDICAL ACRE TO LIVE A NORMAL LIFE. BY THE SPECIAL GRACE OF GOD, WE WERE ALSO ABLE TO RECOVER FADAMA III (ADDITIONAL FINANCING) TO ENABLE OUR PEOPLE PARTICIPATE TO HELP OUR FARMERS AND ALSO PROMOTE DEVELOPMENT OF AGRO-ALLIED INDUSTRIES IN OUR RURAL COMMUNITIES.

THERE ARE MANY OTHERS BUT IT IS ALSO WORTHY OF MENTION TO LET YOU KNOW THAT ‘RURAL ACCESS MOBILITY PROJECT’ (RAMP), BY THE SPECIAL GRACE OF GOD, CAME THROUGH MY OUR LITTLE EFFORT, WORKING IN CONCERT WITH MY CRACK TEAM. THIS PROJECT WILL BE BRINGING TO OUR RURAL COMMUNITIES OVER 400 KILOMETERS OF ROAD WITH RIVER CROSSINGS.

I HAVE HAD OPPORTUNITY TO CHAMPION THE SECURITY OF THIS STATE, TO GOD BE THE GLORY, I NEVER FAILED YOU. IN THE SAME VEIN, FOR INTEGRITY SAKE, IN OUR MY PEACE MISSIONS IN SOME COMMUNITIES AND FOR THE STATE, I HAVE NEVER NEGOTIATED YOU AWAY. I LIVE AND WORK FOR POSTERITY SAKE.

AND FOR THE GREAT YOUTHS OF IMO STATE, I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THERE FOR YOU. I HAVE CHAMPIONED YOUR COURSE AT VARIOUS TIMES OF NEED. I HAVE NURTURED AND POSITIONED MOST OF YOU WHO ARE TODAY OCCUPYING STRATEGIC POSITIONS WITHIN OUR STATES AND OUTSIDE THIS STATE. I DO THIS BECAUSE I BELIEVE THAT OUR TOMORROW MUST BE BETTER THAN TODAY. I BELIEVE IN GIVING OUR YOUTHS THE BEST IN EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPOSURE. Information reaching us at the moment has it that Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State is critically down and may be flown abroad for proper medical check up.

A source at the Government House, Owerri disclosed that the Governor developed the signs on Monday, during inspection of an ultra modern motor park in Owerri.

According to him, after the governor's entourage got to the scene of the project, he alighted from his vehicle and went around to know the extent of the job, adding that after inspection and granting of interview, Governor Okorocha collapsed to the chagrin of those with him.

No fewer than 20 able bodied youths were feared dead at Mbaitoli local government area along Umuaka-Orlu road on Monday, February 19th, 2019.

According to a source, trouble ensued when some strange individuals dressed in blue vest T-shirt numbering over 500 suspected to be working under the instruction of the Chief of Staff, Government House and son-in-law to Governor Okorocha stormed the council to endorse Mr. Nwosu.

According to the source, the strangers were stopped at the gate of the LGA by security officers to ascertain their mission, the source maintained that the action of security agents infuriated them leading to sporadic shooting.

The source further disclosed that during the shooting, over 20 individuals were feared dead while many that sustained various degrees of injury were whisked away to undisclosed hospitals.

In a chat with one of the securities stationed at the LGA who wouldn't want his name in print said, "see ooo, we were here this morning, some individuals who came with over 25 coaster buses tried to force themselves into the council Chambers, and when we tried to identify them, one of them told us that they were sent by the COS, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu to do anything possible to endorse him at the council Chambers but when we asked if they got authorization from the management, they became uncomfortable and before we knew it, they opened fire leading to the lose of lives, while about three persons were said to missing".

He further disclosed that the first lady, Nkechi Okorocha was to work on Governor Rochas Okorocha to believe and accept the deal as the only way to remove opposition within the corridor of power in order to install the Governors son-in-law as Governor of the state in 2019.

Revealing further, the source disclosed that the plot was that once Eze Madumere is removed as Governor, the current Speaker of IMHA, Rt. Hon. Acho Ihim from Okigwe Zone would be installed as Deputy Governor while Hon. Lugard Osuji from Owerri Municipal would take over as Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly.

We further gathered that apart from the first meeting at Government House few days ago, another meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday (today) by 2am at Government House close to old Chapel, pointing out that the arrow head behind all this plot is the first lady who is hell bent in ensuring that Prince Madumere is removed to soften the ground for her son in-law as Governor in 2019.

The crowd were said to have come from Mbaitoli, the home local government area of the Deputy Governor, Ohaji/Egbema, Nkwerre and Nwangele local government areas of the State numbering over 3000, who later besieged the office of the Deputy Governor, urginghim to take a bold step to contest the plum position of governorship in 2019, explaining that he is most qualified and has capacity to deliver the goods.
The leader of the mammoth crowd, Chief Chidi Nwaogu who addressed the press said the solidarity match which is first of its kind in the political formation of Imo state to urge Madumere to join the gubernatorial race, pointing out that he is the most qualified among all the aspirants.
Barr. Nwaogu observed that Madumere fits in the 12 points criteria released by Governor Rochas Okorocha for aspirants of the exalted position, adding that with Madumere, APC is assured of victory come 2019 general elections.
His words; “According Governor’s criteria, Madumere has the capacity, he is competent, an administrator per excellence; he is humble, loyal, crises resolution expert, man of the people and most importantly he has got the cognate experience in Nigeria and in the diaspora. With placards that read ‘For Imo governorship 2019, ask for Mr. integrity, Mr. incorruptible, vision 2019, Madumere all the way, It’s Madumere or…among others. Barr. Chidi said the crowd has come to identify with Mr. Perfect Mr. Home boy who understands the heart beats of the polity and the people.
He charged all lovers of the State to key into the vision and success story as all hands are on deck to ensure the State does not get any emergency Governor.

As boosts to his ambition, the Deputy Governor has been receiving barrage of calls from different sections of the State beckoning him to vie for the plum job of governorship following his administrative acumen, vision and contributions.

Madumere was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State with family roots in Mbaitoli, Imo State, Nigeria. He is the third among seven children of his parents HRH Eze Henry Anoruo Madumere and Ugoeze Malinda Madumere. He attended Primary and Secondary Education in Owerri and Lagos state respectively after which he travelled to the United States of America where he studied Management in San Jacinto college , University of Houston and Texas Southern University to study business management and played American college football as outside linebacker for the University of Houston . He is a holder of Masters Degree in History and International Studies from Imo State University, while currently pursuing his Doctorate Degree in History and International Studies also in Imo State University, Owerri, Imo State.

During the 1998 gubernatorial elections in Nigeria, Madumere went back to Nigeria and served as director for Women and Youth Mobilization for Owelle Rochas Okorocha's campaign in Imo State under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He also served as chief strategist on media and logistics for Okorocha's presidential bid under the ANPP in 2002–2003. He once worked in the presidency as the chief of staff to the presidential adviser on inter-party relations. In December 3, 2005, he ran for the Senate seat in Imo East Senatorial District (Owerri Zone) after it was declared vacant following the death of Senator Amah Iwuagwu. After the 2011 election, where Okorocha emerged victorious as the Governor of Imo State, Prince Ezeakonobi Madumere (MFR) was appointed the chief of staff to the Governor of Imo State, where he exhibited obstinate drive for excellence.[4] He became deputy governor on 30 March 2013.

As the Deputy Governor of Imo State, his accomplishments are numerous especially in the area of Security, dispute and crisis management and resolution. His historic resolutions of disputes between host communities and oil exploration firms in the oil communities of Imo State are legendary. He has left a lasting legacy of harmonious relationship between the communities and their business guests. Among some of the cases were Orsu Obodo community vs Addax Oil, Walter Smith Oil Exploration Vs Awarra Community, oil spillage crises between AGIP and Ohaji Egbema local government youths. He also brokered peace between Irete Community and Nigeria bottling company limited. Statutorily, as the Chairman of Imo State Boundary Commission, his knack for excellence in all facets of human endeavour also played out as he liaised with the former Deputy Governor of Abia State to nip in the bud what would have been a bloody skirmish bet seen Ihitte-Uboma and a community in Abia State. With an understanding between him and his Anambra State Deputy Governor colleague, effort is being made to resolve all boundary issues between Imo State and Anambra State as the affected communities have complied to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner.

He stated that he worked for Buhari for 14 years during which he told him the truth and spoke correctly about him.

He however added that another issue with Nigerian leaders is the lack of capacity to reflect and apologise even when they go wrong.

According to him, “the problem of the APC has to do with exclusion, lack of consultations in the party and the government and lack of public relations.

He said that Nigerian leaders have not learnt to damn praise singers who are abound in the polity, adding that as a stakeholders in the APC he would not descend to the level of praise singing.
He also said that President Buhari was comfortable with his new crop of friends because of their penchant to worship him and praise sing.

The former close aide of Buhari said that the President should thank former President Olusegun Obasanjo for telling him the truth about his government as, according to him, anyone who tells someone carrying a load to adjust his load is a friend and patriot.

Great leaders are made great by horrible circumstances combined with character, temperament and intelligence. Like firemen, cops, doctors or soldiers, a leader needs crisis to shine.

The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere  (MFR) took his first oath of office in 2013, and another on 29 May, 2015 on a joint ticket with Governor Rochas Okorocha amidst thunderous expectations of a new dawn, given the mountain of problems that characterized the state. 

Prince Madumere is one of the most intelligent but less desperate Deputy Governors to ever step forward in the political calculation of the state with or without much ado. The likes of his intellectual capabilities have not been surpassed in public life since the Founding Fathers put pen to paper. His personal character is also solid gold. Relax, Ndi-Imo: we have the leader for our times.

I say this as an Opinion Moulder and Social Crusader who believes totally in the success of the state, I speak as someone who knows that it’s time to jettison political witchcraftry, witchhunting and backbitting which symbolizes the present political gambling.

Where many leaders are two-faced; publicly kindly but privately feared and/or hated by people closest to them, Prince Madumere is consistent in the way he treats people, consistently kind and personally humble. He lives by the code that those who lead must serve. He believes that. He lives it. He lived it long before he was in the public eye.

Prince Madumere puts service ahead of ideology. He also knows that to succeed politically, you need to be tough but patiently rugged without being desperate. Yes, he is and he has been the (Ohamadike) of Imo state. This is a man who does what works, rather than scoring ideological points. In other words he is the quintessential non-ideological pragmatic Nigerian. He will (thank God!) disappoint ideologies and purists of the left and the right.

Prince Madumere has a reservoir of personal physical courage that is unmatched in our Governorship history. Why unmatched? Because as the number two citizen of the state, genuinely contending for the position that should have been ceded to his zone, though, all the rest of us, know that he is in great physical acceptance from the seemingly unlimited reserve of unhinged tension that swirls in the bowels of our wounded and sinful state. By stepping forward to lead, Prince Madumere has literally put his life on the line for all of us in a way no other Imolite ever has had to do. (And we all know how dangerous his ambition has been in the eyes of his rivals)

The greater point about Eze Madumere is that, in the midst of the financial meltdown, kidnappings, armed robberies, bribery and corruption etc, watching our economic levels decline to unbelievable rates of incompetence, facing a general loss of confidence in the government that has been exacerbated by the opposition doing all they can to undermine government’s capabilities and programmes; Prince Madumere as Deputy Governor has contributed his quota at a make or break time of historic proportions. He faces not one but dozens of crisis, each big enough to define any governorship in better times. He has always connected the state to the outside world on behalf of his boss, the testimony of his good representation is the recent agreement seal between Imo State Government and RAMP where he stood for the state.

As luck, fate or divine grace would have it (depending on one’s personal theology) Prince Madumere is blessedly, dare I say uniquely, well-suited to our dire circumstances. Madumere is a person with hands-on experience, deep connections to top advisers from various renowned Universites in the world, being an administrative expert, crisis management czar, and a background that gives him an abiding knowledgeable empathy with the rest of us. 

Madumere is the sober voice of reason at a time of unreason. He is the fellow keeping his head while all around him are panicking. He is the healing presence at a time of state, national division and strife. He is also a pure mind to the political process so that he doesn’t suffer from the terminally jaded cynicism, the seen-it-all-before syndrome afflicting most politicians in Nigeria.

To me, Madumere will bring a healing and uplifting spiritual quality to our politics at the very time when our worst enemy is fear. Fearless Madumere is the cure. He speaks a litany of hope rather than a litany of terror.

As we have watched Eze Madumere respond in a quiet reasoned manner to crisis after crisis, in both the way he has responded after being attacked and lied about, to his reasoned response to our multiplying community crises, what we see is the spirit of a trusted family doctor with a great bedside manner. Madumere is perfectly suited to hold our hand and lead us through some very tough times. The word panic is not in his dictionary.

It is on the record that Madumere brings a moral clarity to his leadership reserved for those who have had to work for everything they’ve gotten and had to do twice as well as the person standing next to them because of the political zone they come from. His experience of succeeding in spite of his social background could have been embittering or one that fostered a spiritual rebirth of forgiveness and enlightenment. Prince Madumere radiates the calm inner peace of the spirit of forgiveness.

Speaking as a believing Nigerian, I see the hand of a merciful God in Eze Madumere's ambition. The biblical metaphors abound. The stone the builder rejected is become the cornerstone; the last shall be first, he that would gain his life must first lose it. Indeed, the meek shall inherit the earth!

Only a brilliant man, with the spirit of a preacher and the humble heart of a kindly meticulous gentleman can lead us now. We are afraid, out of ideas, and worst of all out of hope but no doubt, Madumere is the cure. And we the Imolites have it in us to rise to the occasion. We will. We’re in one of the most frightening periods of the state's history. Our state has rarely faced more uncertainty. This is the time for greatness. We have a great leader. We must be a great people backing him, fighting for him, sacrificing for a cause greater than ourselves.

I have a dream that few years from now Madumere’s portrait will be placed next to that of Obafemi Awolowo, Nnamdi Azikiwe, King Jaja Of Opobo, Ahmad Bello aetcnd better, the best leader in the world. 

Long before that we shall be telling our children and grandchildren that we stepped out in faith and supported a man who stood up and led our state back from the brink of an abyss. We will tell them about the power of love, faith and hope. We will tell them about the power of creativity combined with humility and intellectual brilliance. We will tell them that Prince Eze Madumere gave us the gift of regaining our faith in our state. 

We will tell them that we all stood up and pitched in and won the day. We will tell them that Prince Madumere restored our standing in the world. We will tell them that by the time he left office our schools were on the mend, our economy booming. We will tell them that because of Prince Madumere’s example and leadership, the integrity of our state was restored.

Barely one week after Izombe community in Oguta local government area of Imo State among other foundational structures that previously called on the Deputy Governor of the State, Prince Eze Madumere to vie for the exalted position of Governorship, this evening, the entire executive of All progressives Congress, Mbaitoli chapter have presented Prince Eze Madumere as their sole candidate for 2019 gubernatorial candidate.

The grand event took place at the country home of the Deputy Governor, Lake Malinda, Achi, Ezi-Mbieri local government area of Imo State.

The party executive members from all the twelve wards of Mbaitoli led by the local government Chairman, Barr Tony Amadi were received by the chieftain of the party, Prince Marcon Nlemigbo and other prominent leaders of the party in zone.

Addressing the party faithful, Barr Amadi stressed; “Among the few celebrated leaders in State and in the country at large, the Deputy Governor, Prince Madumere has distinguished himself in all ramifications. He has not only been proven to be loyal, humble but he has displayed competence to unimaginable measure. Among the twelve qualities that have been enumerated as regards who succeeds Governor Okorocha, our Deputy Governor has scored over 98%. Speaking further, Barr Amadi requested the party faithful if he is speaking their minds, they all chorused in affirmative with songs of joy. He further said they will reach out to other members within Owerri, Orlu and Okigwe zones to ensure Prince Madumere emerges as the next Governor of the State.

Also chorusing in the same voice, the Youth leader, Comrade Obinna Osuji while supporting Prince Madumere for the plum job in Douglas House, he described the Deputy Governor as a trustworthy Imo son who has shown competence, capacity, the administrative acumen and utmost love for the youth through life time empowerment programmes and mentorship.

In the same vein, the woman leader of the local government, Hon. Mrs. Gladys Emesibe said; “I am particularly happy with the Deputy Governor of our State. All the women of our party are very happy for the development in the State. Prince is our pride. He has fear of God. He is humble and has been supportive of the Governor in whatever in every capacity. All the women of Owerri zone have been calling on him to come out because of his leadership qualities. We shall work with other local government areas to ensure that he emerges the Governor.”

Responding on behalf of the Deputy Governor, Chief Marcon Nlemigbo commended the party faithful for adopting and presenting the Deputy Governor as the sole candidate for the governorship race come 2019. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has detained the Managing Director, Macmillan Nigeria, Prof. Adesanya Adelekan, over an alleged ₦20bn fraud.

It was learnt that Adelekan, who is a contractor for the Universal basic Education Commission, was arrested on Thursday as part of the investigation of the alleged ₦20bn fraud in UBEC, involving the supply of science and technical equipment and textbooks to 104 unity colleges.

EFCC sources said Adelekan had earlier written statements during which he promised to supply evidence of the execution of the contracts against claims by principals of the unity schools that they only received between 20 and 30 per cent of the equipment and textbooks purportedly supplied to them and for which the contractor collected full payment.

The source said, “After he made statements, all the efforts to get Adelekan to produce the evidence of performance failed as he kept making promises that he never fulfilled. The principals had all made statements and they claimed they didn’t receive the equipment and books listed against their schools.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN JOB CREATION AND EMPLOYMENT

Some analysts and public commentators confuse job creation with employment. Government officials, especially, those charged with the responsibility of taking care of the country's teeming workforce most times bandy the wrong statistics for political purposes. However, there is a big difference between creating jobs and employing people into already existing jobs.

Job creation simply means, by my own understanding, creating jobs where it never existed. One of the major rating factors for American government officials is about how many new jobs the government has created. Job creation is majorly the duty of government. Government creates jobs not by building new industries by itself as a government, but by giving incentives to private investors, so that they can build new industries, thereby creating openings for new people to be employed into its organization. The government can also give tax holidays or reduction in certain levies in order to open up new funds for private businesses to be able to employ more hands into their organizations, thereby reducing the number of unemployed people in the country.

Employment, which is mostly what Nigerian governments at all levels mistake for job creation is mostly about employing people into already existing offices and organizations. This employment can come about as a result of the death of people who were occupying those positions, retirement and resignation of those occupying such vacancies, previously. In any of such cases, government does not deserve any form of special accolades, because the vacancies did not occur as a result of any special intervention by the incumbent administration.

Is it possible for government to create new jobs in the public service? Yes. Government can create new jobs in the public service by creating new agencies that are useful to the ordinary citizens of the country. It can also decide to expand the staff strength of existing government agencies and parastatals in order to make such agencies more effective and useful to the people. To achieve this, the government will need to recruit specialized workforce, which may not necessarily be drawn from among the unemployed in the population, but may require that those who were already employed elsewhere are brought in to the new offices in order to help tackle new challenges expected to be tackled by the newly expanded workforce.

An effective government should be rated by its deliberate efforts in creating new jobs for its citizens, rather than the absorption of few new hands into already existing job openings. Nigeria produces thousands of new job seekers everyday, but hardly are there efforts at every level of government to create new jobs that will absorb these young men and women who will sooner or later become breadwinners in their families. The dearth of job opportunities for Nigeria's teeming population of mostly youthful job seekers is a major factor contributing to the several cases of civil unrest, armed robbery, kidnapping and other incidents of violence crime that have almost become second identity to Nigeria. Nigerian leaders and aspiring leaders must be rated not based on how many recommendations they are ready to make for job seekers to get appointed in some government agencies, but on how prepared they are to pursue policies that will ensure that new jobs are made available for as many citizens of the country as possible.

Some of the ways these new jobs can be created is by supporting start-up initiatives by citizens, empowering talented entrepreneurs to set up their own companies, providing low or even free interest loans for those who possess good ideas to be able to own their own companies and employ people to run them. With the rate Nigeria's population is growing, we can no longer continue to play politics with the issue of job creation, we cannot continue to dish out the wrong statistics on jobs created and not created, because among all the crises Nigeria is facing, the crisis that will come from the unavailability of jobs will be more dire than anything Africa has seen in the past 1000 years. We can afford to pay lip service to infrastructure, but we cannot afford to pay lip service to job creation, education, and skilled training for our teeming population.

As much as I would have wished not to make this article have any praise-singing tilt for any politician, it will be impossible to talk about political office holders in present day Nigeria, who have done well in creating new jobs for the population without mentioning the Imo State governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha who has made concerted efforts to empower thousands of new millionaires through the creation of new economic opportunities, and also providing those with good business ideas with the necessary funding and loans to kick-start their ventures. One of the ways the governor has created new jobs, and in effect new millionaires is through his deliberate effort to award contracts to local contractors instead of the mostly expatriate companies. While it is regrettable that some of these local construction companies fail to deliver quality jobs, it cannot be taken for granted that thousands of local artisans and young men who would have constituted some form of nuisance in the society have made millions of Naira by participating directly in the many construction works going on across the State.

President Goodluck Jonathan can also be credited with creating new jobs. Like the Imo State governor, President Goodluck Jonathan established twelve new universities during his time in power. These twelve new universities couldn't have generated anything less than 100,000 new jobs that were not in existence before they were established. Imo State governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha also set up new tertiary institutions in the State, while also expanding the ones he met. New campuses have been set up for Imo State university and the Imo State Polytechnic. This truly is what should be regarded as job creation, as different from employment. Governor Rochas has also created new jobs by investing concertedly in the development of Imo's hospitality and tourism sector. In years to come, especially if his successor sustains the tempo, Imo will become one of Africa's most sought after hub for tourists.

Provision of basic infrastructure, urbanization, upholding of law and order and improvement in the security and safety infrastructures also go a long way in helping any government create new jobs for its citizens, as these will bolster the confidence of foreign investors to look the way of your country to ply their investments.

END OF THE ROAD FOR NOTORIOUS CULTIST KIDNAPPER AND MASS MURDERER- DON WANEY

The authorities of 6 Division Nigerian Army Port Harcourt wish to inform the peace loving people of Omoku in ONELGA in particular, Rivers State and indeed the entire good people of Niger Delta in general that the notorious cult leader, kidnap kingpin and mass murderer Don Waney is dead.

Recall that in the early hours of Monday 20th November 2017, troops of 6 Division Nigerian Army acting on credible information from some patriotic members of the public raided the evil Don Waney enclave in Omoku, ONELGA Rivers State where shocking discoveries of assorted weapons, dynamites, bags of suspected cannabis, full military camouflage uniforms, military boots, military communication radios, 10 human skulls and human bones were discovered. Additionally, in continuation of the operation on Tuesday 21st November 2017, the troops also exhumed decomposing bodies of some of his victims in his shrine in the glaring eyes of the media who were invited to witness first hand.

Perhaps not satisfied with the numerous lives of innocent citizens he took, Don Waney masterminded the despicable New Year day mayhem in Omoku in which he led his notorious gang of criminals to murder 23 peace loving citizens of Omoku when they were returning from Cross Over Service at about 1:30am on Monday 1st January 2018.

Intense surveillance activities on him and his gang by the Department of State Services (DSS) Rivers State Command revealed that after committing these atrocities he relocated to a neighbourhood within Enugu town in Enugu State where he rented an apartment and started living among unsuspecting neighbours within the community.

From the relative safety of his newly-rented apartment, Don Waney was already perfecting plans to wrought another mayhem in Omoku in which he was to attack churches, schools, Army and Police locations and the RESIDENCES of the generality of the already traumatized people of Omoku. However, following his successful geo-location to his new Enugu neighbourhood hideout by the DSS Rivers State Command, a combined team of troops of 82 Division Nigerian Army Enugu and personnel of DSS Rivers State Command raided the hideout to arrest him and his other accomplices. Incidentally on sensing that the combine team were closing in on his residence, Don Waney, his Second- in- Command (Ikechukwu Adiele) and another gang member (Lucky Ode) attempted to escape through the back exit of the apartment and were shot down by the eagle eyed troops in the process. One of them died on the spot while the other 2 who sustained gun shot wounds eventually died while being evacuated for medical attention.

The remains of Don Waney and his cohorts were brought back to Port Harcourt Rivers State by the combine team and handed over to the Rivers State Police Command for further action.

To this end, the authorities of 6 Division Nigerian Army Port Harcourt wishes to use this opportunity to extend their condolences to the families of all the victims of the evil Don Waney and his gang. We also wish to solicit your further cooperation in volunteering useful information to track down and arrest the remaining gang members so as to bring them to justice for a peaceful, prosperous and secured Omoku community, ONELGA, Rivers State and the entire Niger Delta region.
