Politics / ARCHBISHOP REVD. CALEB MADUOMA'S PRAYER FOR YOU ALL. by NnadiClinton(m): 11:11am On Jan 07, 2018
The Owerri Ecclesiastical Province Ach Bishop Most Revd Caleb Maduoma has defined Epiphany as the manifestation of Christ to the Gentiles as represented by the Magi (Matthew 2:1–12). Most Revd Caleb Maduoma as described Epiphany as a moment of sudden and great revelation or realization.
Most Revd. Caleb Maduoma said the Epiphany is also called Three Kings' Day. He said Epiphany is the 12th day of Christmas, with today, January 6, marking the official end to the festive season for many Christians.
Most Revd Maduoma said these days, removing Christmas decorations because according to tradition, anyone who forgets to take them down by the night before Epiphany must leave them in place all year to avoid misfortune.
Most Revd Maduoma however, said up until the 19th century, the Epiphany was more important than Christmas Day, and it was used to celebrate both the three kings' (or three wise men's) visit to Jesus shortly after his birth and also Jesus' baptism by John the Baptist.
Most Revd Caleb Maduoma tasked Christians to hear God's direction. He said Christians must be humble to follow God's direction as well dynamic in following God's grace and word.
