Simon Ekpa’s denial by IPOB has stirred controversy, with many arguing that the decision is tied to his Ebonyi origin rather than his actions alone. For years, some Igbo have looked down on Ebonyi people, branding them as inferior Igbo, a stereotype rooted in outdated cultural biases. By publicly rejecting Ekpa, IPOB seemed to reinforce this sentiment, as though his state of origin made him less worthy of association.

Politics › Re: The Arrest Of Simon Ekpa Doesn't Really Solve Anything by Noerection: 8:47pm On Jul 10, 2025 |
gidgiddy: I remember years ago when people were screaming all over the Internet that IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu should be arrested. That his arrest will do a lot of good
Nnamdi Kanu has been in detention for over three years, he is more popular amongst his people than ever, and things are much worse than before he was detained. So what was the point?
The self styled 'Prime Minister' of the Biafran government, Simon Ekpa has reportedly been arrested. Good for him that it was in a serious country like Finland with rule of law, unlike Nigeria. He will get his day in court where he is certain to get a fair hearing, and the courts will decide his fate
But what surprises me about all this is that those who hail Ekpa's arrest failed to learn from Nnamdi Kanu's arrest. The arrest will solve nothing. Taking out the leader of a movement, is not same as taking out the movement its self.
To take out the movement, you have to address the underlying issues that brought about the movement. Otherwise, all you are doing is effecting leadership change while the issue remains the same, if not made worse. no more killings in Alaibo again No more useless sit at home |
