Anambra based popular entrepreneur Ifesinachi Onyekere (widely known on social media as “Fish Magnet.” Onyekere) who was kidnapped days earlier by unidentified gunmen, has been confirmed dead.

According to zagozola the incident occurred on Saturday night in Okpuno, a suburb near Awka, the Anambra State capital. According to eyewitnesses, heavily armed men stormed the residence of Onyekere around 10:30 p.m. in Ezinifite Village. The attackers, who arrived in an ash-coloured Lexus SUV, forced their way into the compound, shot the victim in the leg, and abducted him in his own navy blue Toyota Corolla.

Nnamdi Kanu has been in detention for over three years, he is more popular amongst his people than ever, and things are much worse than before he was detained. So what was the point?

The self styled 'Prime Minister' of the Biafran government, Simon Ekpa has reportedly been arrested. Good for him that it was in a serious country like Finland with rule of law, unlike Nigeria. He will get his day in court where he is certain to get a fair hearing, and the courts will decide his fate

But what surprises me about all this is that those who hail Ekpa's arrest failed to learn from Nnamdi Kanu's arrest. The arrest will solve nothing. Taking out the leader of a movement, is not same as taking out the movement its self.

To take out the movement, you have to address the underlying issues that brought about the movement. Otherwise, all you are doing is effecting leadership change while the issue remains the same, if not made worse.
