@JUSTWISE I've still not gotten this clear, If I am required to keep d £5,200 as evidence of maintenance fund in my account, nd d exchange rate used in accessing the money in my account is 1GBP = 260 Naira, which makes the £5,200 = 1,352,000 naira. And I showed that I had £5,400 = 1,404,000 Naira in my account during d 28days stuff, nd after I lodged my visa application I withdrew below the £5,400 = 1,404,000 naira I showed in my bank statement but not below the maintenance fund £5,200 = 1,352,000 naira, will it have a negative effect when my bank statement is been verified by d ECO? |

@All, I called d BHC office today asking dem about dis our Tier 4(general student) visa application processing stuff nd how long it takes them to process it. The woman that answered me said they are trying their best to process and verify d documents. She said the number of days a Tier 4 student application processing will take may be longer than d 15 working days expected. Nd that what determines the number of working days it takes is the verification and the number of applications they have to process, nd this verification is based on individual documents, that is why some people get their visa earlier than others that submitted before them. She also said as of today (8th of Sept. 2011), lemme quote her "as of today for d tier 4(general student visa), we are currently working on those that applied on the 16th of August". So there is no cause for alarm. We all just have to continue waiting nd praying dat God will make dem to give us d visa & also issue us d visa in due time. Patience is the key, hope this helps to reduce d tension. |

@justwise thanks. When d 5200pounds is multiplied by the exchange rate on OANDA site on d day I submitted my application(ie. 248.297), it is 1291144.4 that I'm suppose to show in my account. So how do u see it? |
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered by nology: 6:56pm On Sep 06, 2011 |
@Justwise, I paid my full tuition fee nd also a 200pounds deposit for my accommodation. My school also indicated this two payment on my CAS statement, so I'm to show only 5,200pounds. So from my story nd d fact dat I have 1.410,000mil currently in my account, I'm I safe? |
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered by nology: 6:15pm On Sep 06, 2011 |
@Justwise, Lemme explain my case fully to you. I'm still waiting for my visa, nd the exchange rate on OANDA site on d day I submitted my application was 248.297. The maintenance money I'm suppose to show in my account is just 5,200 pounds. The day I printed my bank statement of account, I deposited 100k that day b4 I printed it to add to 1.460,000 mill I already had in my account. During d 28days ritual, the minimum balance my money reached was 1.419,000. After I submitted my visa application, I used money from my account for my flight nd visa application fee. I withdrew from my account until I had 1.410,000mil. So my question is since I currently have 1.410,000 mil in my account now, which is below d 1.419,000mil minimum balance reached during d 28 days stuff, I'm I still safe? Hope u understand my story. Thanks |

@Justwise, please I will like to know which days exchange rate is used in accessing d minimum money dat should be held in the bank account. Also, what if someone withdraws slightly below the least amount dat was held during d 28 days ritual stuff but not below d minimum amount required while he is still waiting for d outcome of his visa application, will it affect anything?. Thanks |

@Cori_corde, Normally, visa processing speed during this period is slow because of d number of applications they receive. You shouldn't be worried cos your own case is different. From your previous post Hi guys, I was here last year actually. I got my Student visa last year around this time. Actually, I did a foundation programme in Uni. Glamorgan last year and I will be needing a visa extension to continue my degree ( which i will finish in three years) No, I already read the visa extension pages on the UKBA website and it said I will be needing to show my full fees for my first year + maintenance funds for only two months ( which is equivalent to 1200 pounds since I'm outside the London Boroughs) I'm sure of this but I need to be extra sure. My current visa expires in October this year and I'll be submitting my application on Thursday after the holiday. (+ I completed my foundation programme just three months ago) u said u want to apply for an extension of visa for your 3 yrs course. From earlier post by others I've seen, most people that applied in Lagos for an extension/renewal get their visa early(around 2wks). Visa extension/renewal doesn't take much time when compared to an initial application for a tier 4(general student visa). So have u applied? |

@Justwise, please I will like u to answer this. As I'm still waiting for my visa, I have been withdrawing frequently from my account. But I haven't gone below d money required nd won't go below it. I deposited 190k to add up with d money required to be in my account, which showed on d day I printed my bank statement. Since then I have withdrawn like 7 times, which when summed up is like 100k for total withdrawals so far. Please I will like to know if I am still safe or not. Thanks |

@Everyone, this is to stop all d rumors datz been spreading about British High Commission not processing or accepting visa applications. The BHC is still accepting applications nd also processing applications. The British High Commission in Abuja and its liaison office in Kaduna were not receiving visitors or public enquiries on Monday 29th August and was closed for the Eid break on 30th and 31st August. Although they said there may likely be a delay in the processing of visa applications, because they are currently reviewing d security arrangement of d BHC offices. check it out here ukinnigeria.fco.gov.uk/en/news/?view=PressR&id=650168182 @Big Phil, when and which of d vfs centres did u apply for your visa? |

@nikki 007. Like Justwise said, you've done the right thing. If u go to the Abuja office, it won't change anything, because ur biometric details has already been submitted. All u just have to do now is to pray nd hope they go through ur mail as soon as possible to enable dem to sort it out. Since u applied, have dey sent u an sms alert about d progress of ur application? Have u been tracking ur application online? If yes, what message is it showing currently? |
