Politics / Re: Ten Biggest Cities In Igboland by Noneroone(m): 2:12pm On Sep 02, 2023
Quick facts

Enugu was the first Nigerian city to join the 100 most resilient cities.

Onitsha and Aba are among the best planned cities in Nigeria.

Enugu, Portharcourt (and Kaduna) were founded (incorporated) by the British.

Onitsha, Aba and Nnewi are the only prominent cities in Nigeria that are neither oil hubs nor capital cities.

Enugu was incorporated in 1909 and Portharcourt in 1912 mainly as a port to export coal from Enugu.

Onitsha hosts the oldest Anglican diocese in Nigeria, the diocese on the Niger, and the only Catholic basilica in Nigeria, the basilica of the most holy trinity.

Music/Radio / Afrobeat Is Nothing, Lacks Substance- Burna Boy by Noneroone(m): 2:22pm On Aug 25, 2023
Grammy award-winning artiste, Burna Boy has described Afrobeats as ā€˜nothingā€™, saying it lacks substance.

According to the singer, 90 percent of Afrobeats songs is devoid of real-life experiences and only portray an amazing time which life isnā€™t all about.

The self-styled African Giant made this known in a recent interview on Apple Music.

ā€œNot even experience, because half of them, like 90% of them, have no real-life experience that they can understand.

ā€œThatā€™s why you hear most Nigerian music, African Music, or Afrobeats, as you people call it, is mostly about nothing, absolutely nothing. There is no substance to it, like nobody is talking about anything, itā€™s just a great time. But at the end of the day, life isnā€™t an amazing time.ā€

His statement has since sparked a range of reactions on social media with some agreeing with him, and others criticizing him for being arrogant.

AuschwitzPrefec:
Ilorin is a testament to why multiculturalism is bad.

Ilorin is now firmly part of the Sokoto caliphate owing not to the sole credit of Fulani invasion, but the treachery and treason of the Yoruba Muslim, who put his adopted foreign religion above his own race and empire.

The ridicule emanating from the Ibo towards the Yoruba losing Ilorin started with an infamous speech Zik made in which he subtly took a jab at the Yoruba by alluding that "ibo land has never been conquered by an outside force" and from there Zik went on to claim that his own people will conquer Nigeria via trade and migration , describing his people as a termite horde fleeing their red mount to spread across Nigeria.

It is important I make some clarifications on how Ilorin was lost and not to an invading force but through the treachery of the indigenous Muslim population .

And be that it may, it is also important to state why Ibo land remained unconquered by occupation of an invading force.

A simple glance of a map will show you why Ibo land remained unoccupied especially by the Fulani jihadist.

To the west lies the great and mighty Bini Empire that the Fulani jihadist dared not invade.

To the north of iboland lies the powerful warrior kingdoms of Igala, Tivi and Jukum.

These mighty kingdoms were a buffer zone that isolated and protected Ibo land from the jihadist Fulani.

If these states did not border Ibo land, the Ibo would have been speaking Awusa and practicing Islam in today's world.

You know nothing about conquer and colonialism. It's good you admitted the yorubas helped to hand Ilorin to Sokoto. Colonialism has little to do with military force and has more to do with cultural and religious control. People won't surrender to a colonial value and power if they don't consider such culture and religion to be superior to their own. It is mental slavery that water the grounds for physical conquest. Also, when people fight against colonialism, they are fighting to protect their values and what they represent. Having no particular values and general unwillingness to protect what they represent is Yoruba biggest problem. They mistake it for liberalism. The west also claim to be liberal but they can do anything to protect "western values".
Igbos are more firm in charting their course than Yorubas. Their anti Islam trajectory is very clear.

While Igbos fought the whites during colonialism, fought a civil war to protect what they represent, fight against fulani invasion presently, and still fight for Biafra, Yorubas invited the whites to colonise them, connive with fulani to conquer Ilorin, support Fulani in politics and openly warn their people to stop fighting for self determination as they'll not be able to govern themselves.

Blame no one but yourselves. You guys have no sense of self determination as you have no common values to protect.

Politics / Biafra Is Non-negotiable- Nnamdi Kanu by Noneroone(m): 7:09pm On Jun 06, 2023
The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has announced that the fight to bring Biafra into reality cannot be subdued.

Kanu, in a tweet posted by his legal counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, on Tuesday, said Biafra is non-negotiable.

Ejimakor tweeted, ā€œPersonal Message from Mazi Nnamdi Kanu: ā€œI deeply appreciate the abiding solidarity of the people of Biafra & the entire IPOB noble family against my continued illegal detention.

ā€œI assure you all that our pursuit of self determination to its logical conclusion is non-negotiable.ā€

Kanu was abducted from Kenya in 2021. Despite an order by the Appeal Court calling for his release, he has remained in custody of the Department of State Services in Abuja, till date.

The Federal Government had filed an appeal before the Supreme court, depicting its stand on the Biafran leader.

He was charged with treasonable felony, managing an unlawful society, publication of defamatory matter, among others.

Recall, about three days ago, civil rights advocacy group, Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, appealed to President Tinubu to release Kanu, as a way to implement national reconciliation.

Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has also urged the president to grant the IPOB leaderā€™s release and hand him over to any of the South-East governors.

In his appeal, Mbah said, ā€œWe believe that his release will expedite the healing process Nigeria needs at this time.

ā€œIt will also be a pointer to his administrationā€™s extension of brotherly hands of fellowship to Ndigbo.ā€

The governor had also announced that thereā€™ll be no more ā€œsit-at-homeā€ in the state. The order was earlier given by the separatist group.
