VisaOfficer:

Good afternoon,

The decision on whether or not to hire an immigration attorney is entirely up to the petitioner and the beneficiary. The consulate cannot advise you on this matter.

You may apply for a nonimmigrant visa if you wish. Bear in mind that the adjudicating officer will take into account all aspects of your application during your interview when making a decision on whether or not you are eligible for the visa category for which you are applying and whether or not you overcome the presumption of being an intending immigrant. This may also include the fact that you have a pending immigrant visa petition.

Best,
VO

Thank you for your response.
I know the decision to take an attorney is entirely up to my wife and i but i was asking if its necessary, like is there any special benefit whatsoever if our application is handled by an attorney? I am sorry if my question sounds absurd but i am trying to cut cost.

As regards the non immigrant visa i intend applying for in december, it is going to be difficult to prove to any VO at a non immigrant visa interview especially when i have an on going immigrant petition because honestly i intend migrating to the US but not at the moment calculating the time frame (6months) for a cr1 visa, i want to migrate legally and wait my turn so i dont break any rule.
My wife and i will be on vacation in december and we miss each other badly (body no be fire wood) which is why i will apply for a visit visa and come back in january to continue my immigration petition.

I guess its my problem to convince the VO on that day.

Goodday honourable VO:

I am married to a USC in april and she is on the verge of filling an i-130 petition for me to migrate.
Do we neccessarily need an immigration attorney because the least lawyer we contacted was charging nearly $5000.

Can i also apply for a non immigrate visa to visit my wife in december while the i130 petition is being processed?

Thank you.

Since you do not yet have an approved petition, this is a question for USCIS.

Regards,
VO

Okay, i will do that. Thanks . God bless

Goodday VO.
I commend you for all your assistance to great trend. I am also glad that you have been enjoying your stay in Nigeria as i read that you have been to Benin and cross river state.
Have you tried Nigerian food? I am sure you will like it when you do.

I recently got married to my girl friend who is a USC on the 19th april 2017 at ikoyi registry. We are in the process of submitting the petition to USCIS but i am curious, i will like to know if its imo chats, sceenshots of video and audio calls are enough as eveidence of communication? We dont use normal phone calls because of the cost since we talk for long and imo is better. Though i lost some of our chats and video screen shots for last year. Hope this wont be a problem?

Thank you sir/ma. I recommend you visit akwa ibom state. There i think you will get the best hospitality and food Nigeria has to offer.
PS: pls dont go to the North. Lol

Hello VO,
First, I want to first commend your good works on this trend.
I applied for student visa (BSC degree) three consecutive times in year 2013, 2014, 2015, bit was denied based on 214(b) of the usa immigration law. I am 23 yrs of age.
Now, I have a girl friend who is a USA citizen and we intend getting married by December here in Nigeria.
I do have a few question;
After our wedding I know she is suppose to file petition for me. Although we don't know how to go about it.
Do we need a lawyer or an agent for this process?
Will the visa be approved? Cos I was thinking of studying in another country before I stumbled upon this part of the trend.
How long will it take my visa to be approved?
Will my past visa denials have any role to play in my immigrant visa application? Cos I intend going back to school when I get to the USA
What documents do we need to provide?
Thank you always for your input.
God bless.
