FCMB is twin to ACCESS
Very similar but Access is slightly less efficient, then again its a bit cheaper from a forward PE stand point

How do other religions forbid fornication?

I wish I could share.
Also important thing to note about Dangote refinery is that it’s in a free trade zone. There is no income tax, the EBITDA margin is pretty much the Net profit margin
So if nobody has numbers how are you guys arguing on valuation:
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by nosa2(m): 8:28pm On Jun 07
isaacosas01:
Give me one example. Just 1 example of refineries around the world of this scale with this ridiculous valuation.
Do you have any numbers on the profitability of the refinery?
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by nosa2(m): 3:14pm On Jun 07
Agbalowomeri:
So your argument is that the company is not worth $50B conservatively? Even when the production doubles?

Dangote is a highly gentleman grin
If na me, nothing wey go make me list at less than $100B even with a production capacity of 700,000
As in ehen!! All of them are looking at the cash invested. They are valuing the risk Alhaji took, his time and effort at zero. Wickedness in high places.

I am not buying sha. It is against my religion to buy IPO or PO. Only thing I can consider is rights issue

I don't gamble as habit sha

It's just fun for me
The only gambling I do is to bet against Super Eagles when they are playing a high stakes match. If they win I am happy my team won and I don't mind losing the money. If they lose I am sad but I get small consolation from the money I won.

So far I am up in my gambling career

For me, if you bought stock before Tinubu, when dollar was N600, fuel was N200 or so and inflation was above 22%...you need to have made like 10x between 2023 till now to just to break even. That's why I never bothered. I think 2024-2025 was a good time to come in because of fx stability.. Anything earlier and it's still just poverty olympics you are playing because the SP500 would have been a much better choice.
Just like I did grin
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by nosa2(m): 8:24pm On Jun 05
ositadima1:
Let's say I bought Dangote Cement at ₦300 when fuel was also ₦300 per litre, before the Tinubu administration. Now, my investment has grown by about 3.7 times, almost 4 times my original capital. I decide to take profit, but the problem is that the ₦1,100 I can now sell the stock for cannot buy the same amount of fuel the ₦300 could back then.

My question is: did I really make a gain?

Another question: should I be worried that bears are coming to push these stocks down?
When I left the NGX in about 2013 the ASI was like 29,000 and Dollar was like N170. I believe with the index at like 240,000 it has just about caught up with where it was back then in dollar terms.

Me wey dey vex. My calls are down like 20% but then I have a strike price of $20 and expiry in March 2027 so I gallant. Stock is down like 14% today alone

Nope...we are not comparing which is better
Time will tell which will deliver in short/medium term.Infact in 2026 vdf will deliver better than Access
My only concern is about the market generally because of election. The next election is going to determine the survival of nigeria.
And that's OK. VFD can do better than Access and I will be happy for VFD shareholders but unless I see a logical reason based on public information I cannot agree that it will.

Did you take this 20% the from the US market or has it been officially defined for the NGX? Because just the trio of MTN, DANGCEM and BUA can reduce ASI by 20% if they are serious enough.
Its a generally accepted definition

https://www.investopedia.com/terms/b/bearmarket.asp

Definition
A bear market is a market condition where investors are more risk-averse than risk-seeking, defined by some as when prices have fallen more than 20% from previous highs.

I just dey wakeup from 💤

Seems VFD MM don finally wake up from for their responsibility 😔

They should help me move this thing to 20, 30 naira then 50 naira 💕

Back in NASD, VFD ruled the game... Can they rule NGX? Time will tell...

Disclaimer... Na Monkey Hunting I dey do because I am heavily loaded in VFD ooooo grin

Don't buy VFD is you will come here to abuse me if it goes South grin
So they are a holding company. I just looked at the companies on their portfolio and there are some interesting companies there, both private and public. Question I have for you and any other person who wants to help is ; how do they value their private investments? I am asking because the company is trading at 1.4X book and I am wondering why I should buy a holding company for more than the sum of its parts.

Looks like everyone has everything to say when the market is bullish.
Yep, that's how markets work.

P.S. A bear market is declared after a 20% decline from the most recent high, We are not there yet.

The story need to change.
Abbey can't do 8.50 and VFD 10+ with all these turnarounds.

VFD is a stock to watch this June.
Abbey will give it a run
In my opinion both Abbey and VFD are expensive

You didn't factor in; frontier market status, new re rating by different international organization and consequent FDI, if present administration continues after election which is likely... Then it is safe to conclude that market crash or very long term bear market is not in view.

Kindly note that there will always be market corrections and intermittent pull backs but long term bear market.

NFA
My bearish stance has nothing to do with the general market.

See if you're bullish you're bullish, some faceless Gorilla on the internet is not going to change your mind. I'm bearish on the entire sector and to me it's amazing how the bullish people are not seeing it.

@nosa2:
The problem with Nigeria is not a shortage of good people, the problem is that the majority of Nigerians are drawn to quick solutions sold by anyone. Jonathan was a good person yet Nigerians couldn't wait to kick him out based on unrealistic promises. How could educated Nigerians vote for a person promising N1 to $1 think about that.
Owerri – The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday said he would ensure that the Naira was equal to the dollar in value, if voted into office.

Buhari stated this during the South-East presidential rally of the party at Dan Anyima Stadium, Owerri.

https://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/03/ill-make-naira-equal-in-value-to-dollar-says-buhari/

I found that the govt debunked it and videos of the rally have been scrubbed from the internet which is weird
