Flashh: I have never used a keyboard as good as SwiftKey. I update it when there's update without wasting time.
I have Google keyboard, Flash and SwiftKey on my phone. But I feel very comfortable using SwiftKey.
Currently using the SwiftKey "Spotlight Orange theme". Lovely!
There is one cracked SwiftKey Key that I use on my Android that has over 50+ themes unlocked(though not updated since it's cracked version), wish I could use it on my iPhone as well
BluePearls: Honestly i haven't considered the possibility of tweaking Snapdragon chipset. Now that you've mentioned it, i may have to go for the MTK version. I saw a video comparison of the MTK and Snapdragon, the later seemed to perform better and the camera quality also trumps the MTK. To solve the memory issue, i could just settle for the 32gig. Tough choice!
abatically: I use to think like that too in the past until i started using Google keyboard then I realized I been wasting my time with swiftkey
Well individual differences... I run Android 5.1 on Infinix Hot Note and 5.0.2 on HTC One M7 but I've never seen anything enticing on Google keyword.... Sony Xperia Keyword is even better (personal preference)
falseman: I have used it on 5 different high end phones and never experienced any lag. It's one of the best keyboards out there if you ask me.
My brother.... I wonder oh Even me that's what I use both on my Android HTC One M7, Infinix Hot Note and iPhone. even my family members they all use SwiftKey without issues (though it lags on iPhone at times which is a bug on the OS itself as it also lags on swipe keyword)

BluePearls: OP i guess you and i are in the same both. I had to wait for the review of the Ulephone Power before i made my a decision, unfortunately i haven't been impressed with the Ulephone Power reviews so far. Mine is slightly different cus i wanted the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 (Snapdragon version) or Ulephone Power, but in the end opted for the Redmi Note 3 for a few reasons; 1, Better camera, 2, better build quality, 3, better support, 4. better processor, 5. and more suitable for gamers. So you can think in that line and make your decision.
Have you ever successfully tweaked any Snapdragon Chipset for Glo BIS cos me too am considering getting the Snapdragon variant instead of the MTK variant because of the camera upgrade.... But non tweakable IMEI of Snapdragon Chipset is a big turn off to me as I don't want what happened between me and HTC One to repeat itself again.
Microsoft buys SwiftKey, maker of the famous Android and iOS keyboard, for $250 million
In case you don't know, SwiftKey is a software keyboard for Android and iOS, and it's extremely popular: at the moment, it's installed on about 300 million devices (Android and iOS combined). According to The Financial Times, Microsoft is paying $250 million for the company behind SwiftKey. Reportedly, the deal will be officially announced later this week.
Hope this is not going to turn out that we will be charged per on a seconds billing because I so much enjoy this keyboard.

abatically: Apps made for phones depend on the architecture of the OS and how OEMS want the app to look and run
mind the bold sentence.... Does that bold sentence has anything to do with the OS optimization? CAPITAL NO. that is OEM policy which I stated earlier in my first message that Apple has full and complete control over apps published on Apple store... That you must meet their standard or you get kicked out of Apple App Store (this is company policy and not any OS optimization)
Google on the other hand has little or less policy on apps published on Google play store so anybody can post half baked junk apps. Does this also mean OS optimization? CAPITAL NO It's Google policy it has nothing to do with the OS being optimize or not.
I.e if your OS is optimized to run on 0.0byteHz processor and 0.000byte RAM, junk apps will still run like a creeple on it even if the device itself has 1PB of RAM and 3.7PBHz of processor So is this also OS fault? CAPITAL NO
So it's never Android OS fault that apps run faster on iOS and run slower on Android despite it high CPU, is as the cause of the app itself not being optimized to run flawlessly on Android.....
Again if spec didn't matter: 1. why do older idevices lag when new iOS is released? 2. Why that is only iPad Air and later version supports true multi tasking (I.e split screen)? 3. Why that only iPhone 6s and 6s plus can set video as wallpaper? 4. Etc
In conclusion :
If spec doesn't really translate performance as you said, pick the same platform (let say iDevice older vs new device) since the OS itself is written with the same language, it's apps also is written with the same language and runs with the same mechanism. so their only difference will be their hardware, then compare their real life performance. And write your testimony here.
And Not comparing different platform that has nothing in common with each other, and also run their things differently in a way that is far beyond your scope.
abatically: Dude do u just like to contradict urself ? Why was this thread created in the first place? To tell u that apps run better on iPhones with lower specs than android phones with monster specs. So thank u for letting me know opera mini is way better on iOS than androids (as if I don't already know).
Just like I said, I don't use opera mini because no matter how good it is, its still a mini designed to compress data. U can spend 10 times the data u use to open a page on opera mini if u open the same page on safari. Safari is a full blown browser. Ur argument was that iPhone 6s cannot open 25 pages on opera mini without refreshing, and I just showed u that it can open that amount of pages on safari without refreshing. Common sense should tell u that since it can do that with safari which is a heavier browser, then doing so on opera mini should be a piece of cake. Even phones with 1gb of ram can hold 20 pages on opera mini without problems. Now I don't know the purpose of ur argument because all u have done is prove me right. The main purpose of creating opera mini is to compress, compress and compress.
This is your statement "On paper android is the clear winner, but it is not so in real world. This is where I respect Apple for creating an os that is well optimized and runs perfectly with lilimited power"
I now tell you that, the reason why apps runs faster on iOS is not because of iOS optimization....(So no need to say you rep apple cos is not Apple that did the work. the people that actually did the work is app developers that optimize their apps to work flawlessly with iOS)
All those apps you see on iOS except the basic apps are not developed by Apple it is third party app developers that developed it.
..... App developers are different from OS developer.
OS developers are: 1. Apple the developer of iOS for iPhone/iPad/iPod and Mac OSx for Apple PC 2. Google the developer of Android OS for Android phone/Tablet and Chrome OS for PC 3. Microsoft the developer of Windows OS for PC and Windows OS for phone/Tablet ..... Though Microsoft all developer apps (software) e.g Microsoft Office etc and Google also develope apps like Chrome browser etc to name a few....
While App developers are independent thirty part (could be individual or corporate) people like you and me who develops app (software) that runs on different platform of their choice.. This is not Apple but a company on it's own
So when I made an example that OPERA MINI on iOS is better than Opera mini on other platforms, it was not Apple that developed opera mini for iOS
abatically: Wait a minute, did u just say [s]opera mini? Dude u count that as a browser? That sh*t is meant for broke ass people that want to manage their data.[/s] I don't even have opera mini on my phone because I hate how it compresses data, I like my web pages full with all the graphics available. Any mobile phone with even 512mb of ram can open up to 25 pages on opera mini without having to refresh because it is not power demanding. U want to talk about web pages multitasking, then let's talk safari on the iPhone 6s . IPhone 6s with 2gb of ram is more than capable of opening 25 pages on safari (full browser) without having to refresh. Just check the video below.
Mobile phones run on mobile OS, no matter the amount of power u pack in, it still won't do serious work like video editing and people change their phones after 1-3 years. With computers it is different. A company can run on the same computers for 7-10 years before they change them.. That is future proof. U can even build ur own computer to ur taste, if ur hardware becomes obsolete u can change s few hardware components , u can add more ram and graphic cards and ur computer will become as good as the latest. That android devices support backward compatibility has nothing to do with number of cores or amount of RAM. My ps4 is not backward compatible, so does that mean it is not as powerful as a ps2 or it doesn't have the hardware to run ps2 games? The answer is NO.
The MAJOR reason to add more power and rams to phones is to aid easy navigation, fast app opening, smooth multitasking and general smooth running of the OS, and maybe to run graphic demanding games smoother. IPhone 6s with 2gb if ram does this than most android phones with 4gb of ram. If u don't believe me then watch the video below between iPhone 6s plus with. 2gb of ram and dual core processor against one of androids powerhouse, the one and only Samsung galaxy note 5 with 4gb of ram and octacore processor. It is really a shame that an iPhone with lesser power can perform more than a powerhouse like galaxy note 5.
[b] Oops now I know you don't even own an iDevice.... So No need to argue with you again.
But For your information Opera Mini on iOS is well refined, play flash online, can be used to fill real-time online form with auto refresh etc.... Opera mini on iOS is better than opera mini in any other mobile platform I've ever used apart from Windows phone 8.1+ which I've not used. You can get your friends iPhone and install Opera mini and confirm it yourself.
And that proves my point that apps are more optimized by the app developer to run on iOS flawlessly than other platforms. And this is not Android OS fault but the app developers. believe it or not it's your choice
I don't argue based on what is on the net but based on personal experience
abatically: I get ur point, I'm also an android power user and really I've not seen anything ancroid can do thatvios cannot do to be frank. Unless ur talking about things deliberately blocked by apple like drag and drop, Bluetooth file transfer, fast charging , etc. These things don't require high CPU or RAM. Iphones can do virtually everything through applications and that is why there are more accessories for iphones than there is for android.
U said android are designed to be future proof? That is just a phrase used to deceive us. An android phone u bought today will be obsolete in 2 yrs time because they would have released newer ones that double the CPU and RAM... So where is the 'future proof'? I have a galaxy note 5 and I know in 2 yrs time it will look obsolete to me and Samsung will not update it because by then they would focus on galaxy note 7, so what is future proof about it?
Yes android is power hungry because it is just a mobile OS. Mac and windows on the other hand are full fledged computers that are used not only for media consumption but media creation. Computers need as much power as they can to be productive. For example to do serious Photoshop or professional video editing, u need a machine with high CPU, GPU graphics and ram so that is why macs are designed to be powerful. U can't do these things on a mobile phone no matter the CPU and ram u cramp in.... So what's the point?
For all the powers packed in android phones, iphones still have more accessories and have been put to better use in different productive research's like medicine, construction, etc.
1. Bro for the fact that every year or 2 Android device got new hardware update doesn't mean your old device isn't a feature proof.
Technology as a whole is like that or tell is there any year that Intel doesn't release an upgrade to its Core i5, i7 CPU series or is there any year that Apple doesn't release new update to it's Macbook series? Go to auto section etc
future proof: is when you can still run the same next 2 years OS version on your today device. E.g HTC Desire HD still get Android 5.1.1, 6.0 in the work
Simple thing that iOS device can't do because of RAM, open other apps too, open up to 25 pages in Opera mini, type something in 1, switch to another and type something else... Switch to the different pages and go back to the first page and see what you typed has been cleared. This is why you need more RAM
Android devices support backward compatibility I.e you can be on Android 6 today and tomorrow back to Android 4.2 if you so desire just like your Windows machine that you can be on Windows 10 today and go back to Windows Xp... That is where Android is focusing to make your Mobile device behave like PC.
About using Android for real productivity like editing stuffs...if the software is developed for it platform, Android devices will be capable to handle it to an extent with their hardware cos hardware are the first thing to consider in software development expecially the demanding types like that editing stuff.... Because hardware is more difficult to change than software which is just writing or editing of code...
And who told you that WITHINGS is not available for Android.... And not only WITHINGS there are other companies too
abatically: U just buttress my point that apps run flawlessly on less powerful ecosystem like IOS than on Android. This means Apple put in a lot to make it work that way. [s]Android on the other hand is power hungry [/s] and requires high cpu and ram to make apps run as fast (not even as fast) as in IOS. The android phone in the video is a Google Nexus phone, that is supposed to be the benchmark of android phones.
Actually only Google apps run faster on Android, every other apps are more optimized on Iphones
Android isn't that power hungry if you really understand the need for pushing more CPU core and RAM to machines be it phone, Tablet PC or full flag PC.
If you say Android is power hungry then it means Mac OS, Windows PC OS is also power hungry too.
Why manufacturer push more CPU core to Android powered devices is because Android is an open source (I.e open to unlimited possibilities, even Google themselves don't know the limit of Android OS). So Android users tend to be using their Android devices to try out new things (complicated things) every day and to make Android device future prof, there's need to push more CPU core and RAM etc.
Unlike iOS devices, their users mostly use it for medias and games which are highly optimized for the platform... No complicated things. People who who try to do complicated things always see the other side of iOS and in order not to bring bad name to the reputation that Steve Jobs has suffered so much for, for so many years Apple will always try to block the loop hole....
There are lots of simple things I've done on my Android device but if I try it on iOS it fails.
The only problem that Android has is that their app developers doesn't optimize their apps.
I known the two platform..... So am not defending any just trying to prove a point.
Dawatech: Android and iPhone are the trending smartphone in the market today though there are other close competitors like the Windows Phone and BlackBerry, But most people end up choosing between Apple’s iOS phones most especially the iphone, and Android based smartphones from manufacturers like Samsung, Techno, HTC, LG and the likes.
The question is Which one is better ? Android or iPhone ?
iPhone Or Android : Which One Is Better ?
* Android ; Are smartphone based on Google’s Android OS with many popular manufacturers like Samsung, HTC, LG, Techno producing smartphone with the Operating system. Is user friendly, so flexible and customizable.
* iPhone ; Is much of complex smartphone than Android, Is based on Apple’s iOS platform, it has improved multitasking and a new Control Center for quickly changing settings and also with best selection of high-quality apps and games in their store.
I don’t think am in a right position to choose between to phones but I believe you can only answer this after checking out their features. The answer depends on what you need it for and this is based on your choice.
Lets see what they offer and lacks
=> Apps ; Android Google’s Play store has over one million apps available, they offers more apps than Apple’s App Store simply because Android is an open source, its software is open for developers to generate apps. But Apple is still leading in terms of quality, most app developers and companies choose to publish the iOS version of their apps first in Apple’s Store before looking at Android Play’s Store. There is a big difference in Quality and Quantity, i Think Android is leading in terms of quantity but face a security problem with many malicious apps but iPhone has the best Quality of Apps.
=> Size ; Most of Android smartphones have screens of between 4.5 inch and 5inch, Also their tablet device have screen size of 5+ inch range like the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with 5.7inch. While Apple smartphone which most are of 4inch are relatively small compared to Android smartphones. So, if you’re looking for large screens smartphones, Android is a choice !
=> Gaming ; In terms of games, iPhone really beat Android with variety of games available for the Os but Flash is also a factor, Apple denies access to apps with flash but Android allow this.
=> Battery Life ; This factor vary dues to variety of hardware used in Android phones, Android and battery life don’t last too much longer, don’t panic , that’s Smartphone for you. Using a smartphone, you need to know some smart tips .
=> Software ; Apple runs its software on its own hardware, the iOS runs smoothly on iPhone since its bug free because the software is controlled by Apple, you can only install apps which Apple approves and it’s also difficult to put music and video to your iPhone because Apple makes everything possible through iTunes. Android is still behind in term of software, with multiple crashes and bugs in it.
=> Hardware ; Since Google offers its Android software to many phone makers like Samsung, HTC, LG and others, Android phones vary in size, weight, features, user experience, and quality. But Apple is the only company produce iPhones and have control over how the software and hardware work together, iPhone also vary because it has difference model also. The fact is that they both have issues with their hardware.
=> Multitasking ; Android is good in terms of multitasking though the latest iOS 7 now come with an improved multitasking features to the old version.
Both Android and iPhone have their merits and what they lacks, so it is difficult to recommend either iPhone or Android ,it all depends on what you need the phone for and what your choice is.
seunpayne: As an android defense attorney, do you always make a case against your client? I believe what you just said can be interpreted as "well yeah the specs are true as long as you don't use the phone to run apps created by lazy developers who for some reason are hardworking when designing the same apps on the iOS platform. Because, let's face it, we all like our phones packed only so we can make excuses for Google at the same cost of...I don't know...an equally priced device that is sleeker and err...better optimized?"
Your honor the prosecution has no further questions.
Am not defending any OS or OEM Bro. I particularly don't really know Android OS as I know iOS because am not an Android beta tester, I don't own a Google device cos stock Android UI is very ugly and boring (personal preference) If you own an iDevice..... Join iOS beta testers and see how iOS app developer will continue to push update at each transition of iOS I.e from 7.x to 8.x to 9.x to optimize their apps to run flawlessly on that iOS version.....
Again if you have Android phone and iOS device, install the same on them and see which one is more updated frequently.
Also do you know that most iOS app have different versions for their iPhone and iPad this is because of optimization but Android on the other hand, one app to run on both Android phone and Android Tablet no optimization at all.... So Dude I practically know what am telling you.
Android apps are mostly updated for new features but iOS bug fixing (optimization) to avoid being kicked out of Apple App Store
abatically: A real world speed test comparison was made with the iPhone 6s plus, Google nexus 6p and Microsoft lumia 950 XL. On paper android is the clear winner, but it is not so in real world. This is where I respect Apple for creating an os that is well optimized and runs perfectly with limited power.
A quick specs comparison,:
IPhone 6s plus has 2gb of ram vs 3gb of ram on the nexus 6p
IPhone has dual core processor clocked at 1.8ghz vs octacore on the nexus 6p clocked at 2.2ghz
On paper android powerhouse should be murdering the iPhone, at least some people here will not come and say that OEM's are spoiling android by adding their own skin, this is pure undiluted android we are talking here straight from Google.. It is a nexus device. IPhone 6splus finished this app launching test with almost 2 minutes ahead of the nexus. IMPRESSIVE.
Note: I'm an android user, but I've so used iOS devices and I won't deny I love using the iPhone, but since I'm a power user I'll always prefer android.
Apple has full and complete control over apps published on Apple App Store I.e since apple develope iOS to run on less powerful devices apple also force developer's to optimize their apps to run flawlessly on those devices as well. Unlike Google that has minimal or less control over apps published on Google play store.... So anybody can publish un-optimized junk app to Google play store making app to run very slow on Android powered devices....
The Google device in the video (though I didn't watch it) was able to run fast enough because of it high CPU, if you should run those app on those outdated CPU, you will see how sluggish the app will run.... So it's actually not Android OS that causes the sluggish running of app on Android device but app developer who fail to optimize their apps for Android OS, making Android device to use more resources to run an app. .......
agrowonder: Hi friends, I really need help with your experience because I'm in a state of dilemma now. I want to buy a phone because I will be going for service soon[happy me]. Primarily I have wanted to buy Samsung note 4 but the price is around 130k which will drain my finance, now I'm thinking of buying tecno phantom 5.
This is where I need your help, do you have any experience with phantom 5,please share with me, I don't want to regret my choice.
NOTE: i'm not trying to compare the 2 phones here, I know Samsung is the best any day anytime, just wanna know if there won't be regret with phantom 5.
Thanks
Be wise man..... Spec sheet =|= (Not equal to) Standard nor Quality
Even if you want to save..... P5 is not an option ........ Forget about P5 BS gimmicks
scarr: truth be told these guys (Kuli and co) dont trade with the #305/$ rate...........they are just making excessive profit while using exchange rate to cover face.....those that know know
Sure.... That's why I said they like taking advantage of every little opportunity to extort their customers expecially when they knew that their customers doesn't have a lot of options
Youngzedd: Get me the rate this clearing agents charge per USD. And also the current exchange rate.
Remember the card with the highest limit is 350 USD per day. Someone said this after GTBank charged him 301 NGN per USD.
I don't know why some people have eyes but can't see.... On this same thread initialize post Redmi Note 3 58k with Xiaomi piston 1 earphone, Tempered glass, pouch etc.
But if you insist I teach you business, Ymodulos is all yours (read all his thread), Nairaland business section is also yours and monitoring foreign exchange in Technology Market section is also yours....
If you are not lazy to read, and you finish reading all the threads and posts in those sections I mentioned and you still import phone @ higher rate and still trade ₦301+ per $ then you need to go to your village and tell 'em that I said whoever that is behind your success in life should leave you immediately....
I can't even believe you're the one asking me this kind of question.....
But anyways don't bother to thank me. My reward is already in heaven
bigtt76: Aside from shipping, Kulimart forgot to mention the clearing aspect from the port.... money is paid here, then talk about the shipping to customers.
Trust me it's cost effective buying locally where you can easily return to if any issue than buying directly from China. All your choice though
Hey sweetie, did he tell you that the cost of shipping the phone to the customers is included in the price he mentioned in his website?
2. The Xiaomi Redmi Note I bought directly from China through a friend never had an issue till date.
3. About shipping and clearing whatever, am not a leaner there too.
4. About after sale service, am not a leaner too. You can check en.miui.com/forum.php or Google there's only one Nsonaso and that's me
- 3gb ram - 20.7mp - 3200mah battery - 16gb ROM - Fast charging (0 - 60% in 30mins)
I didn't list water resistance among the specs because the phone had transit issues, the back of the phone was broken.. which I had to fix, so I can't confirm.
Helloflife: We started dating last year november. We haven't gone intimate yet and he doesn't even pressurize me. Truth is, i don't love him, and i think i made a mistake accepting to date him. I've found out we have literally nothing in common.
Throughout our relationship, i've never said the word "i love you" to him. He called last night and asked me if i love him and i couldn't give a direct answer cause i didn't want him to get hurt.
Dear romancelanders, whats the best way i could tell him how i really feel?
Babe I like you for not saying what you don't mean I.e for not saying you love him while you don't.
Love has it's different ways.... To some they fall one's and to some it takes longer. What you will do is to stop collecting things from him if you like him.
And if he should ask you next time, simply tell him you don't and you don't want him to go, that he should give you time. Expect if you've find someone else
