Bola Tinubu, national leader of the All Progressives Congress, on Monday, explained why he chose Kano as the venue for his 12th colloquium and 69th birthday.

He said he picked Kano to prove that Yoruba and Fulani are one. Tinubu's comment has sparked angry reactions on social media..

The above is a throwback in 2021 when Tinubu was marking his birthday. Are you suprised that the president is not taking any serious action against the killer herdsmen that have been tampaging the country and spilling the blood of innocent citizens ?
Are you suprised why the president is advising the victims in recent Massacre to go and reconcile with the killer fulani herdsmen?

PoliticsCoastal Road :akwa Ibom & Cross River Indigenes Protest Distance From Coastline by Ntigha(op): 4:58pm On Jun 07, 2025
Some indigenes of Cross river and Akwa Ibom states which constitutes the section 3A & 3B respectively have voiced out their concerns over the alignment of the Lagos - Calabar COASTAL HIGHWAY in the States which they claim is very deep into the forest in the hinterlands .
Some of the residents of the states lamented that being a coastal highway and with the construction going on in Lagos along the coastlines in the south-west in which the highway there is aligned close to the shorelines, it was expected that the same closeness to the sea shore would be followed in their respective states
Speaking on the construction of the coastal highway in Akwa Ibom , state a resident of Eket Mr. Sunday Abasekong lamented that one of the advantages of the highway that was sold to Nigerians was that being close to the seaside it would boost tourism in the states bordering Nigeria’s coastline, but instead of the coastal roads passing through coastal areas like Eket and kwa Iboe they moved it hinterland more than 40 kilometers into the forest and that the alignment of the road in Akwa Ibom has nothing to do with the coastline.
Another resident of the state Mr Iwang said the alignment of the road was expected to pass closer to the the coastal communities which would invariably expose and promote the tourism potential of the state like the Ibeno beach, as Akwa Ibom has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and it is on record that the state has the longest and beautiful shoreline or beach in Nigeria and the passage of this coastal road close to the coast would have boosted commercial , business and real estate economy of the state like in Lagos.
A resident of kwa Iboe Mrs Janet peter asked what is a coastal road doing 40km away from the shoreline in deep forest in areas like Afaha and Aba Ekpe that are very far away from the coast. Some of the residents spoken to claimed that the coastal highway was just to boost real estate development in the southwest states like Lagos and Ogun states without consideration for other south - south states, they said they are sure that in states like Bayelsa Rivers and delta same thing would happen where the coastal road will pass through the hinterlands too instead of the coastal communities..
Mr. Tony who resides in the city of calabar the Cross River State capital shared the same view with his Akwa Ibom state neighbors and asked “ if you say you are building a coastal road in Cross river state that will run along the coastline what is the road looking for in a place like Akamkpa about 50km away from the coast when you have coastal towns that are faraway from the present proposed location of the coastal highway ?” I believe the road would stop being a coastal road immediately the Lagos section is completed” he said.

In response to why the roads cannot be constructed close to the shoreline or coastal areas, the Honourable Minister of works David Umahi has come out to explain that due to the terrain it would ne difficult to and very expensive to construct the coastal highway very close to the coast like in Lagos and Ogun, and also the number of bridges that would be required would be enormous, and at another forum while giving his speech said that the road construction in these forest areas would open them up bringing in new towns and developments along the roads.

Meanwhile some south south indigenes are saying if the coastal road is not going to run close to the shore like in Lagos the fedetal government does not need to waste money building another road that would run through the forest areas, all they need to do is pour a fraction of the trillions that has been budgeted for the coastal road into maintaining and upgrading the already existing road and putting in place proper security to ensure travellers safety.

vanbonattel:
Don't misunderstand me, but I think it's a step in the right direction. He should allow the president to work for 4 years that he is elected. Protesting is enshrined in the constitution, and is practiced worldwide, but in our own peculiar situation, it will do more harm than good.

Most Nigerians failed to stand up and fight for democracy in February 2023, and I knew the mistakes of that election will shake this country to the roots.
Go into jail Sowore, if you're found guilty of incitement or planning a violent uprising that killed many people, you should receive at least 21 years in prison.
Mumu man !, what is your peculiar situation that requires you not to protest when the government is leading the country into dungeon

PoliticsKwara Commercial Drivers, Motorcyclists Protest Fuel Price Hike by Ntigha(op): 6:27pm On Sep 05, 2024
Commercial activities were grounded in Ilorin, Kwara State capital on Thursday as commercial vehicle, tricycle and motorcycle operators protested the Tuesday increase in fuel price.

The protesters blocked the major roads including Abdulazeez Attah which leads from Geri Alimi Oja Oba, Taiwo/Post Office, Post Office/Maraba/Zango roads thus preventing vehicular movement and disrupted commercial activities in the metropolis.
Although, some of the commercial vehicles operated early in the morning, but at about noon, those working were forced to stop while many commuters were seen in groups at bus stations waiting for vehicles to their destinations.

“We are buying fuel at N1,200 per litre. We cannot get money to feed our family after fueling our vehicle with N1,200 per litre.

” President Tinubu should reverse the fuel price to N200 where he met it if he still wants Nigeria to exist,” some of them said as they matched on the streets.

Meanwhile, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has directed the immediate deployment of buses to different parts of the metropolis to ease the movement of commuters.

“The buses are to take people to the most central destinations free of charge. We hope that persons attending the SUBEB job placement interviews would find this helpful, particularly in the metropolis,” a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, said on Thursday.
The statement further said that the governor also appealed to transporters and members of the public to exercise patience over the new fuel price hike, saying different government stakeholders are reviewing the situation with public good as a top priority.

“The inconveniences are regretted, and we are confident that things will ease as soon as possible,” it added.
