The northern senators forum, which is a forum comprising senators from the northern part of Nigeria speaking through their spokesperson Sen. Sule Abdulrahman Kawu has vehemently rejected any form of military intervention against the military leaders in neighboring Niger republic.
Speaking at the National assembly few hours ago warned that any form of military intervention will only escalate the situation and will put the lives of innocent citizens especially in the north in great danger, , he said that a diplomatic solution would be the best option.speaking further he said that already there is serious problem of insurgency in the northern part of the country and that any outbreak of hostility would only worsen the situation in the north

A social media influencer popularly known as Ifa-Priest has given knocks to the tribalism and violence being perpetrated against non-indigenes in Lagos by few individuals whom he described as illiterate street thugs being used and led astray by greedy politicians.
While speaking on his livestream Ifa-priest also said that if “ we the Yorubas of the south west are to reason critically we would realise that the we yorubas actually do not play much significant role in the economy of Nigeria as much as the Hausas who provides the food security of the country, south-easterners who are the business and commercial powerhouse of the nation and the south-southerners who contributes in terms of oil and gas which is the main sustainance and life-blood of the Nigerian nation.. The only thing we offer the nation as yorubas are the environment for these tribes to run their businesses, and the only space we can offer them is the city of Lagos out of all the whole yoruba states and we as yorubas are the ones who benefit most from them because most of the oil companies and oil services companies are headquartered in Lagos and remitt a significant amount of taxes to the Lagos state government , the businesses run by the Igbos are worth billions of dollars and rakes in billions in taxes and rates to the government of Lagos, it also drives development in the state”. The northerners are the food security of the south west, not quite long ago when the Hausas refused to move some foodstuffs to the south we all saw how everyone in the south west was running helter skelter because we couldn’t get even tomato to cook”, he further advised that “if any of the tribes especially the south easterners should abandon Lagos and move their businesses then we would realise how empty we are and that we really do not have much to offer the nation.
The northerners already have a strong tie with other neighboring countries such as Niger , chad cameroun etc which are good markets for their produce and railways between Nigeria and Niger testifies to how close they are with these neighboring countries, the Lagos seaports if abandoned especially by the Igbos would not worth anything and would drastically run far below capacity and these people have the tenacity to turn around the economy of any region to which they move their business, should the ports become available in places such as Ibom or even koko in delta state.
He further went on to say that it is quite unfortunate that the voice of few miscreants amongst the yorubas are sounding louder than those of the reasonable yorubas who are in the majority and that the recent evil machination of the politicians are capable of destroying the free meals being offered the yorubas by other tribes in the country. He said that most of these politicians are not even full Nigerian citizens as most of them hold dual citizenship of other countries and has pledged allegiance to these foreign countries before being granted citizenship and now wants to ruin Nigeria if they cant have their ways to loot the national treasury by turning tribes against each other, He advised the southwest to sit down and think of what to offer the nation and not carrying files and looking for white collar jobs., it is time we yorubas go back to cocoa which we were noted for as right now we really do not have anything to offer the nation and ourselves except for a conducive business environment which some miscreants are trying to destroy.

CONDEMNATION OF WIDESPREAD IRREGULARITIES IN RIVERS STATE GOVERNORSHIP AND STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY ELECTION, AND WITHDRAWAL.

I, High Chief, Hon. (Amb) Sobomabo Jackrich, Governorship Candidate of National Rescue Movement strongly condemn the March 18, 2023 Governorship and State House of Assembly election in Rivers State due to the widespread irregularities aided by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Security Agencies in connivance with the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State.

It is disheartening that the election was marred by cases of voter intimidation by armed hoodlums across the state, snatching of ballot boxes by thugs led by serving Local Government Area (LGA) Chairmen, Commissioners, and officials of the Rivers State government, with the aid of security agencies who compromised to allow thugs to wear police uniforms and operate with security vans.

There were also cases where party agents were not allowed into polling stations to carry out their civic responsibility by agents of the PDP, cases where voters were flogged by thugs for voting for other political parties, and ballots were destroyed in polling units where electorates voted their conscience.

The harrowing voter apathy experienced across the state is a result of announcements of threats to the life and safety of voters across the state, particularly against nonindigenous people in the state. Vote buying was rampant in the elections, which further reduced the sanctity of the process. Therefore, I call on all well-meaning Nigerians to join me in condemning these irregularities in the strongest possible terms.

These irregularities were recorded prevalently in LGAs such as Degema, Eleme, Phalga, Oyigbo, Ahoada East, Emouha, Ikwerre LGA, Etche, Omuma, Khana, Obio/Akpor, Abonnema in Akuku Toru, Okirika, etc.

Furthermore, in Asari Toru LGA and some parts of Degema and Khana LGAs, elections were suspended due to the failure of INEC to deliver the right materials and/or the refusal of INEC officials to show up for the election.

This election falls short of the minimum standard of an acceptable election. I hereby reject the outcome of the elections so far and decline from continuing in the process. I urge all supporters of the NRM to boycott the Asari Toru, Khana, and Degema rescheduled elections as it only means participating in a futile adventure that has been rigged before time by the INEC, working with PDP in Rivers State, and aided by the Security agencies.

I appreciate all members of the National Rescue Movement and my supporters across the state that came out in their numbers despite the intimidation to vote, and agents who went out to show solidarity to monitor the process despite the abuses and attacks. I assure those agents with proven records of participation that they will be called upon and duly appreciated for their show of commitment by the leadership of party in the state

Finally, I call on all well-meaning Rivers people, civil society organizations, and International organizations to condemn this mirage called the election.

The Labour party governorship candidate in Lagos state while on a television interview with Arise news channel has said that the indigenous Lagosian is welcoming and open to everyone, unlike other states he said “ a Lagos indigene cannot go to Osun state or Ogun state to contest for governorship election just like they have done in Lagos( referring to Tinubu and Sanwolu’s origin as non- lagosians), They will not be given that chance, but we the indigenous Lagosians by the nature of our history and interactions we are open to all indigenes , so long you are in Lagos contributing your bit to the development of the state you are welcomed “

A 65 year old security guard was confirmed to have been shot and killed as suspected political thugs attacked and set ablaze Akere spare parts market in the Apapa area of Lagos.

The attack which is said to have taken place around 3 a.m this morning, saw rows of shops with billions of naira worth of goods destroyed. this comes as there has been constant threats from political thugs allegedly being employed by politicians against the Igbos in Lagos as a result of the fall out of the 2023 presidential election in which the ruling party APC led by Bola Ahmed Tinubu was defeated in the vote counts in the state .
According to one of the traders Mr. Amuche ‘so many people have lost huge amount of money to this attack, we cannot even quantify the lives of the two security guards killed’ , according to him ‘we have been under threats by Lagos thugs led by people like MC Oluomo and Co,’ even in the recent past there has been scathing remarks against Igbos by politicians including the wife of Tinubu pastor Mrs Remi Tinubu ,and all has been made brazenly in the open without any reprimand frm the security forces ,he further said that a high level meeting has been called by businessmen and traders to address and curtail the threats and attacks by the political thugs threatening their peace in the state.
