Continuing he said, “rather than continuously talking about me and making infantile and primitive statements, they should spend their time praying for the soul of the late and great PDP leader, Chief Funso Williams, who would have been governor of Lagos state, who was mysteriously murdered a few years ago by a group of evil, power-hungry and callous men, and who was a formidable political adversary of Tinubu. We pray every day that God should avenge Funso Williams and bring those that killed him to justice.


“We suggest that the APC purge themselves of their obvious obsession with me and instead pray for the fortunes of their candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari because he is in trouble and he is surrounded by snakes and vampires. They should pray that God will keep General Buhari safe from the enemy within. President Muhammadu Buhari has said that former Lagos State governor and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, will take full charge of his re-election campaign.

Mr Buhari said while he will also be “involved” in the campaigns, he would only do that without allowing governance to suffer.

He said this Monday when he inaugurated his presidential campaign council at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

“Even though we have only 40 days, this campaign is going to tax us all, because we intend to touch all corners of our great and vast country,” he said.

“But I must also add that, though we will all be deeply involved, I would like to assure the nation that I will do my part without making governance or my work suffer.

“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, my co-chairman, will be fully in charge, and is going to be on 24-hour vigil,” Mr Buhari said.

Mr Buhari said the entire “operational buck” of the campaign stops at the table of Mr Tinubu.

“I therefore urge all of us in the leadership of this campaign, in the field operations on the campaign trail and in the secretariat to consult with Asiwaju whenever guidance is needed,” he said.

Mr Buhari called on members of the campaign team to unite and cooperate and ensure a smooth operation.

He said directorates could co-opt on full or part-time basis persons who could add value to the campaign and help it to attain success.

“To my mind, the division of responsibility is clear enough. The Leadership that has formulated the campaign policy will supervise its execution; the Director-General will have overall responsibility for all aspects of the campaign, including field operations; while the Secretary will be responsible for all administrative and treasury-related activities of the council,” he said

The Nigerian Minister of Power Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola Thursday urged the people of Southwest to vote for President Muhammadu Buhari in the forthcoming presidential elections to guarantee a return of power to the region in 2023.

The minister stated this at a special Town Hall Meeting on infrastructure organised by the Ministry of Information and Culture and the National Orientation Agency.

Fashola said besides the infrastructure provided by Buhari across the country, the Southwest would benefit more politically by voting for Buhari .

The minister spoke in Yoruba language and with a proverb, he said, “Did you know that power is rotating to the Southwest after the completion of Buhari’s tenure if you vote for him in 2019?

“A vote for Buhari in 2019, means a return of power to the Southwest in 2023. I am sure you will vote wisely.”
Fashola said the government has kept its promises to Nigeria in fighting corruption, rebuilding the economy and improving security.

He said that the essence of the town hall meeting was to showcase what the administration had done in three and half years.
Fashola disclosed that about 67 road projects were ongoing in the South-West region of the country. He added that the projects included 19 road in Lagos State,14 in Oyo state, 12 in Osun State, nine roads in Ogun and Osun States respectively
