I have a plot of land in okun Mopo. It's the town just after okun ajah. The soil in both communities is the same. It isn't swampy, but it is loose and looks like beach sand on the surface. I intend to build a bungalow (12m x 8m). I have received various advices on the type of foundation I should do, and now I'm confused. Some have said I should do deep strip foundation, some same raft foundation with German floor and some others have said I should do pad footing. Those anyone have experience of constructing in that axis to please advise me on the type and cost of foundation I should do. I don't know a damn thing about construction, but I want the ground of my premises to be at least 2m higher than the surrounding environment to control inflow of flood water in future. |
I intend starting a new business in Nigeria later in the year, and it's quite novel, so I need to get training in the USA. I'm already in touch with the USA company, and they are willing to send me a letter of invitation for the training. The training is scheduled for June. The Company inviting is assisting to find a cheap hotel for me. The training is just one week, but the Company is willing to put 3 weeks on the letter so I can use the extra 2 weeks for vacation. Because of the nature of the business , I need to buy some of the Company's product. I'll only pay after the training. The Company is willing to send me a quote. I told the Company not to issue me the quote and invitation letter until I get my company registered, so that the invitation letter and the quote shows my company name. I currently do my business as an independent tax consultant, and I can show my bank statements to prove that I earn regular income. I presently do not have the funds to travel to the Us, pay for the training, pay for the product and some cash for my upkeep, but I should have all that by end of April, so I will wait till then before I apply. I'm married with a son, and my wife is pregnant and due to deliver around August. Based on all the above, do I have a good case to be granted a visa? How best can I present my documents to give me the best possible chance of obtaining the visa. I have email correspondence and Skype chat between me and the Us Company's CEO. Will that increase my chances? Waiting for nairalanders. Thanks in advance. |

My wife is about 4 weeks pregnant, and I want her to have our baby in Canada, so s/he becomes a Canadian citizen. I really need Nairalanders advice on how to get this done without hassles. The real issue is about visa. I'm thinking she'll have to go with a tourist visa. I have a female friend who's doing her PhD somewhere in Manitoba. My friend is willing to accommodate my wife for the period she's in Canada; and help arrange hospital matters. I know to get a visa to Canada, it is essential to show proof that you will return to Nigeria. I really need your advice on how we can mange that. We have a son here, and obviously I'm here (as her husband). Will that be enough proof that she'll return? She's unemployed and she does petty trading; she doesn't have a robust bank account that shows income flow. Will it be possible for her to use my bank account if need be, since I fend for her? |
Do you mean it will cost 850k to clear a Mazda 6 ? That doesn't sound right. I'm thinking it should be in the region of 300-400k |
I'm seriously considering buying a Mazda 6 from auction export, between 2007 - 2010 models. Going by my survey, I'm confident I can get a buy and drive for between $3k and $4k (shipping to Nigeria inclusive). My worry now is about cost of clearing. Can anyone please confirm how much it'll cost to clear each of these cars. |
I want to buy a foreign used (tokunboh) sedan car. My preferences are Mazda 6, Nissan Altima/Maxima, Honda Accord or Mitsubishi Gallant. 2007 - 2010 models only. My budget is N1.2m. Pls if you have any car for sale that meets the above specs, pls share your number, and I'll give you a call right away. |

Dr Mohammed Mustafa Lecky is from Auchi in Edo State, which is a part of the South-South. I feel some people are worried why a Muslim chosen from a Christian dominated South South. We should learn to realise that the Federal Character principle in Nigeria only considers ethnicity/tribes in balancing nominations, and religion place no role. |
I want to rent a 2 bedroom flat for one year around ajao estate, aviation estate, airport road and environs. My budget is 400k which includes commission and agreement fee; I could stretch my budget a bit, if the apartment is so good that I don't have to spend any extra. I would appreciate your suggestions. Thanks nairalanders. |
