Nairaland / General / *paul Chukwuma Endows Juniorate Seminary, Ihiala With N100m Educational Support* by Nwabufoirene: 7:49am On Mar 13
*Paul Chukwuma Endows Juniorate Seminary, Ihiala with N100m Educational Support Fund.*

In furtherance of his resolve to ensure that every child in Anambra State gets educated, the Pro-Chancellor of Olivia University, Burundi Sir Paul Chukwuma has endowed his Alma Mater, the Holy Ghost Juniorate, Ihiala with the sum of N100m to build modern classrooms for the students.

Sir Paul Chukwuma who is a member of the 1989 set of the seminary made this donation during the 70th Anniversary of the school and Inter House sports competition which was held on Friday, March 8, 2024, at the school facility in Ihiala. He urged the school to utilise the funds to build befitting classrooms embedded with various learning aids to prepare the students to compete in a rapidly changing technological world.

Recalling his time at the Seminary, Sir Paul Chukwuma stated that the institution played a significant part in his success story as the discipline and education he got from the school helped shape his worldview.

"The training and discipline I received here helped in my development. The seminary taught me how to dream. It taught me determination, focus and perseverance. Most importantly it taught me faith, to put my hope and trust in God. When I left the juniorate the lessons I learnt never left me, the compounded effect of all these lessons is who I am today " he stated.

He further urged the students to remain focused and inculcate the virtue of self-discipline and delayed gratification and to pray regularly, never losing faith in God.

Earlier, Sir Paul Chukwuma supported all past rectors of the school with the sum of one million naira each to appreciate them for helping to mould students who were morally and academically upright.

Recall that earlier in February, Paul Chukwuma paid the UTME fees of 500 candidates and in March proceeded to pay the SSCE fees of 1000 students. Being a lover of education, Paul Chukwuma has continued to support education across all educational strata in Anambra state and beyond.

Nairaland / General / With The Aba Power, The Economic Renaissance Of South East Has Begun* by Nwabufoirene: 2:15am On Mar 12
*With the Aba Power, the Economic Renaissance of South East has Begun, Paul Chukwuma*

- Predicts the revival of manufacturing in the South East

The Pro-Chancellor of Olivia University, Burundi who also doubles as the Chairman of the Nigeria-Burundi Business Council, has predicted that the South East will become a bastion of manufacturing in the next 10 years urging the Governors of the South East to work in synergy to make it a reality.

Sir Paul Chukwuma stated this during a visit to Geometrics Power Aba, on Thursday, March 7, 2024, for a study visit to the plant to understand the working principles and business model of the Aba Integrated Power Plant and seek technical advice on replicating the same in Anambra state.

Speaking during an interactive session with Prof Barth Nnaji and the members of his management team at the conference hall of the Aba Power, Paul Chukwuma congratulated Prof. Barth Nnaji for a job well done, praising his vision and steadfastness in seeing the project through.

" I want to commend you for your commitment and perseverance to this project despite the litany of challenges. It shows unbridled love for nation-building. Staying for 20 years on this project despite the challenging business climate and various commercial litigation is a testimony of your commitment to the progress of Ndigbo and Nigeria. You have done a noble act by providing an empirical proof of concept for others, having set in motion a chain reaction with an enormous positive loop for our country. The effect of this project on the economy of Aba and by extension the South East will be far-reaching. The expected result is that many businesses will move into Aba to utilise this reliable energy, especially manufacturing businesses. When this happens we expect to see the unemployment rate in Aba and its environs drop alongside youth restiveness"

"As an entrepreneur from Umueri in Anambra state, my visit to your facility partly finds an expression in the biblical invitation to Apostle Paul to come over to Macedonia for help. There is no gain in saying the fact that Anambra is losing its position as a commercial centre due to the absence of reliable energy such that many industries have gone under and the remaining few are struggling to survive. The bold steps you have taken to ensure reliable energy in the ring fence is an indication that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Against this background, I seek for partnership between your companies and the manufacturing arm of our group of companies. While we may be tempted to seek relocation of some of our ongoing manufacturing installations from Anambra to the Geometrics Power ring fence, we also know that this can be replicated in Anambra state so that many more businesses can benefit and the effects sync with that of Aba to give an ultra boost to commerce in the South East and perhaps, produce the "Asian Miracle" for Nigeria", he stated

In his response, Prof Barth Nnaji gave a rundown on the project history, stating that the project took him 20 years to complete due to lots of man-made bottlenecks and that the ideal completion date ought to be three years.

" I began this project in 2004 and by the time I became a Minister in 2011, almost everything was ready. In truth, it was on the strength of what we have done here that I was invited to become a Minister. Various issues came up and the project took two decades to get completed."

Prof added that the Aba Power consists of three different companies, the companies being the Generating company which generates power and sells to the transmitting company which in return sells to the Distribution company. He further added that the power plant is focused on improving knowledge by employing lots of local staffers who work seamlessly with expatriates from various countries.

From the conference room, Prof. and his team took Paul and his team on a guided tour of the facilities including the Generating plant where the turbines were already roaring.

At the end of the tour, Paul Chukwuma thanked Professor Barth for the reception and tour, noting that he will continue to seek his advice as he continues to seek various options for the supply of reliable energy for businesses in Anambra State.

"My visit here has provided me with a lot of insight into the various issues affecting electricity in Nigeria. I will go home and distil the information further. Be assured that I will continue to reach out to you for more advice and guidance till the Anambra business community has something to cheer about "

Sir Paul Chukwuma was accompanied to Aba Power by several businessmen and technocrats from Anambra State.

*Anambra APC Media Frontiers Hails Sir Paul Chukwuma's Epic Generosity*

Anambra, Nigeria (December 31, 2023)

As 2023 melts into 2024, Anambra APC Media Frontiers (AMF) shines a spotlight on Sir Paul Chukwuma, popularly known as Onyechinazo. His historic Christmas bounty of over 250 million naira to 10,000 party members wasn't mere festive cheer; it was a seismic declaration of faith in Anambra APC, a beacon of hope outshining any Yuletide flame.

AMF notes that Sir Chukwuma's gesture transcended the scale of his gift. It was about the strategic inclusivity woven into his act. He touched every thread of the party structure, from state executives through the 21 Local Government Executives to the 326 wards, solidifying a sense of shared purpose and belonging. This act shatters misconceptions and reaffirms the Anambra APC's dedication to its own people, proving their capability of taking care of the party through capable leadership like Sir Basil Ejidike, the astute Capacity State Chairman.

As a foundation member and former National Auditor, Sir Chukwuma's visionary leadership and unwavering service to the party are undeniable. We celebrate not just his financial contribution, but the extraordinary spirit that ignited a renewed flame of unity and hope within the party.

Meanwhile, AMF extends its deepest gratitude to our Capacity State Chairman, Sir Basil Ejidike for his firm vision for the party in the state, while acknowledging the tireless efforts of Deputy National Organizing Secretary Nze Chidi Duru and the invaluable support of Ambassador Elijah Onyeagba, former Nigerian Ambassador to Burundi to the media community.

Fueled by the spirit of unity ignited by Sir Paul's generosity, AMF is poised to join fellow APC members in translating that spirit into unwavering dedication to our progressive political pursuit. With combined strength and unwavering unity, we envision the proud moment of raising the APC flag high in Agu Awka in 2025, a testament to the collective dream of a brighter tomorrow for Anambra and beyond.

Finally, we would like to use this opportunity to congratulate Sir Paul Chukwuma Onwa Umueri on the birth of his twin boys recently. We also send our strong condolences on the passing of his father-in-law.

Politics / ANAMBRA At 32: A State Of Progress And Promise: Despite Apga's Malaise by Nwabufoirene: 7:59am On Aug 28, 2023
*Anambra at 32: A State of Progress and Promise:Despite APGA's Malaise*

Awka, August 28th, 2023

The Anambra _*APC Media Frontiers_* (AMF) joins Ndi Anambra to celebrate our iconic state's 32nd anniversary. Anambra has made commendable progress, and we are proud of the state's many achievements. The state has been a major contributor to Nigeria's growth and development for years, producing successful people in many areas such as politics, business, academics, literature, sports, and entertainment.

However, we are concerned that the nation is deprived of benefiting from the excellent human resources that Anambra has in abundance due to the limited reach, exposure, and connection of the APGA government in the state.

We equally note that our dear state faces several persistent challenges, including:

* Poor infrastructure
* Inadequate power supply
* A worsening security situation
* Corruption
* Poor governance

Despite these challenges, *Anambra is a state of progress and promise* The AMF proudly acknowledges the significant progress that the 32-year-old state has made in several areas, including education, health, and infrastructure.

Anambra State has seen a rise in literacy from 60% to 80%, an increase in schools from 2,000 to 5,000, and a reduction in infant and maternal mortality rates. The state has witnessed phases of investment in infrastructure such as roads, bridges, an airport, a stadium, and a conference center, yet much of the existing infrastructure needs repair or replacement. As home to successful industries, the economy is growing steadily albeit slowly. However, small businesses have yet to be fully supported and its potential is ÷harnessed to improve the living standards of their residents.

Meanwhile, the AMF decries the worsening security situation in the state. The state has been plagued by a wave of violence, criminality, kidnappings, and territorial occupation by non-state actors. This has created a climate of fear and insecurity, and it is hindering the state's development.

The AMF also expresses _cautious optimism_ that the current administration of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo will ensure that local government elections are held within the two years of his administration that he promised.

The 32nd anniversary of Anambra State presents to all Ndi Anambra a time to celebrate the progress that has been made and to reflect on the challenges that remain.

The state needs to address these challenges to achieve its full potential. _The APC through the #RenewedHope Agenda offers a sure alternative to correct the malaise of bad governance, kleptocracy, and suffocation of grassroots democracy by the APGA government for almost two decades of its reign in the state_

Finally, on this 32nd anniversary, we celebrate our culture, our industry, our innovations, our achievements, and most especially self-love that characterizes the spirit of Ndi Anambra.

We, at AMF are proudly Ndi Anambra. We believe that the state has a bright future, and we have an abiding faith in our resilience and confidence that we can overcome the challenges that we face.

Happy 32nd anniversary, Anambra State.

Together, we can make Anambra a state of progress and prosperity for all.

May Anambra succeed.

Politics / Hon Sir Azuka Okwuosa Will Crop Unemployment Rate In Anambra by Nwabufoirene: 9:08pm On May 07, 2021
UNEMPLOYMENT AND HON SIR AZUKA OKWUOSA MEASURE TO CROP UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IN ANAMBRA

BY Nwabufo Irene

Unemployment is one of the major problem faced by majority of Anambrains which has great implication on their lives.

The term unemployment donote to a situation whereby able bodied people willing to work find it difficult to secure a job
.
Anambra unemployment rate was at level of 10.8% in 2010, raised to 16.8% at the previous year,2020, 13.1% rated as the state with lowest unemployment rate but as a state we are not satisfied with the figure.

We need a better Anambra where our youths are all gainfully employed

It saddened that young people are those that are worst affected

Study stated that almost half population of Anambra is made up of youths, defined as individual between the age of 15 to 34 years of age.

Here,I will like to outline several factors that maybe blamed for the prevalence of unemployment in Anambra.

The key causes are bad governance,high level of corruption among our leaders and failure of our government to perform their constitutional duties.These corrupted leaders mismanaged public funds and resources supposed to be used for creation of job opportunities for the people while our youths walk from place to place in search of one job and another.

Other factors that contributed to unemployment are lack of quality education,lack of infrastructure,non attractive agricultural sectors,lack of employable skills and experience, recession,rapid population growth among others

Many steps applied by political leaders in addressing unemployment in our state are rather ineffective and unable to tackle unemployment rate.

One thing is to identify problems but another is to provide a lasting solution to those problems.

To overcome the problem of unemployment Hon Sir Azuka Okwuosa blueprint stands to provide a lasting solution to the challenges of unemployment by:

1.creating and maintaining skill acquisition program and scholarship. Skill training is an important way of investing in our youths because the skills they will acquire will help them to be both publicly and self employed.

2.creating of massive industries and infrastructure and industrial friendly environment

3. Provision of attractive Agriculture sector:in agriculture, his main focus will be on agro allied industrialization which will provide the missing link between farming and industrialization through agro allied industrialization, he will also invest heavily in preservation of agricultural products, modernize farming by setting up an agricultural mechanization agency, partner with all the universities in Anambra to set up an agricultural research institutions in the state, establishment of low cow rache to help our diary needs and establishment of fertilizer plants in Anambra.

4. Reformation of education system to produce skilled graduates, innovators and entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs education shall also be included in our educational institutions

5. He will remove corruption and bad governance,change the faces of Anambra and bring back development, transparency and strengthen institution for good governance and rule of law.His leadership shall be a transe through which total transformation will take place in Anambra.

Zukky for the people!!

Zukky for a better Anambra!!!

Zukky for governor Anambra state 2021!!!
Politics / Agriculture:one Of Hon Sir Azuka Okwuosa Parcel For National Development by Nwabufoirene: 9:03pm On May 07, 2021
AGRICULTURE

ONE OF HON SIR AZUKA OKWUOSA PARCEL FOR NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

The importance of Agriculture in a nation is something that can never be overlook because even civilization began with agriculture and though humanity has changed significantly, agriculture still remains very important.

Agriculture is important not only for the supply of food but also for the provision of raw materials for industries.

Agriculture doesn't end in planting, harvesting and rearing of livestock, it's about production, processing, promotion and distribution of agricultural products

A scroll through the past would reveal that at independent and some decades after that the mainstay of Anambra state economy was agriculture,many families relied on it for livelihood even up until now it's still the major employer of labour in Anambra,over 70% of Anambrains are directly or indirectly live on agricultural related activities

Thanks to the nature that blessed Anambra with resources in terms of agro based activities such as fisheries and farming as well as land cultivation for pasturing and animal husbandry.

One cannot forget in a hurry the likes of renowned Igbarim farm settlement and Omambala zone which was food basket of Anambra but due to decades of negligence by past government are now history.

It saddens that past government did nothing or little in promoting Agriculture in Anambra which would have reduce poverty,raise incomes and improve food security.Reality remains that every Anambrains depend on agriculture for one thing or another.Hon Sir Azuka Okwuosa is coming with goodnews for Anambrains.His administration will place priority on Agriculture which will in turn provide direct employment for farmers who depend on it to sustain themselves and families

Renew the Igbarim farm settlement and Omambala zone

Heavily invest in preservation of agricultural produce

Introduce agro allied industrialization and provision of appropriate rivers, stream and water ways for irrigation to provide all season farming in Anambra

Modernize farming by setting up an agricultural mechanization that will help to improve our agricultural system

Farmers will be adequately fund to enable them produce in large quantities which will help in poverty reduction and raises income.

Zukky for excellence, fairness and sustainable development
