Yarimo is probably living in his fathers face me and face you and you are cheering someone looting our collective matrimony. No be juju be this? yarimo: |
Is that a blablu language or what? I thought you are devout muslim? Why are you poking fun on someone communing with his God? GeneralPula: |
Excellent! This is not election season ooh. He did the same when he was Anambra State governor. Anambra is one of the most detribalised state in the South East. I have visited Onitsha several times with an uncle that sales spare parts in Ikoku when we were growing up. There is a whole area in Onitsha called Fegge. There is Bida and Kaduna Road too. There is Lagos Street in Onitsha. There is also Port harcourt and a big and important market called Agbe- Ijaw named after the shrewd Ijaw merchants and sea fares along the great River. Supremos: |
You are not telling the truth here Abiola ran on a Muslim Muslim ticket and no one cared. Awolowo also ran with a southern Christian Philip Umeadi and no one cared. However, Implementation of Sharia law in the core North with Buhari active support and APC government selective of choosing Muslims even in mostly Christian states made this fault lie much worse. Igbos have no hand in this. Check all Buhari’s political appointees from Plateau, Nasarawa and Taraba since inception has been mostly Muslims. If this is not an Issue, why did Buhari insist on not running with Tinubu in 2015? GeneralPula: |
A Rebuttal to this misinformation From your writing, one can assume you are Ijaw from Bayelsa or Rivers State as Ijaws from Delta state were never part of Eastern State. I would not have responded to your lies and misinformation here if you did not mention South South and cast the aspersion that the South South would never be friendly with South East and Igbos in general. As starters, I must state here that I am from Etchie Ethnic nationality of Rivers State. Etchie is part of the larger Ochie an ancient southern Igbo nation subgroup that was balkanised into three States of Rivers, Imo and Abia. In Rivers state, we have 2 LGAs, in Imo, we have two LGAs and my ethnic group shares an LGA in greater Aba area with the Ngwa Ethnic nationality of Abia. For your information Ngwa is another major subgroup of the great Igbo nation with Aba as their main city. As you can see I am a full blooded Igboman just like many other Riversmen and women that identify with the great Igbo Nation. I am also unapologetically a proud Niger Deltan from the South South geopolitical zone. My grand dad was a respected court Clerk in the then Ahoada division of Old Eastern State. I was opportune to learn first hand most of what happened before and during the first republic before his demise. My grad dad Chief clerk at some point was a prince of the great Bini kingdom who later became an influential and well respected Oba. As you can see many Niger Delta Ethnic Nationalities like mine have kith and kin across the geopolitical divide which made your assertions a wishful thinking. Coming to you argument, Enugu was chosen as the capital of the East by the colonial administrators when the Igbos were not even in any position to influence anything. In fact most of the educated elites were from Kalabari, Bonny and Brass. Port Harcourt was a forest and farmland mostly owned by Ikwerre Ethnic nationality and a bit of Okrika fishing settlement and was only developed as a port city to help ship Coal from Enugu that attracted the Whiteman to the city in the first place. Therefore Enugu was already the de facto capital before Port Harcourt was even developed as a port city. Calabar was briefly the capital of Nigeria but the capital was moved to Lagos by again the colonial masters. Yorubas and Igbos were never part of the Whiteman calculation to move the capital to Lagos. Most of the bizarre assertions you made about treatment of minorities by Igbos were tabled before the 1957 Sir Henry Willinks commission and most were found not substantiated. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/308531248_The_Willink_Minority_Commission_and_minority_rights_in_Nigeria It is on record that Isaac Boro enjoyed all the privileges that Eastern Nigeria could offer, he went to UNN and was elected the SU President with majority of Igbo students. You can read more about his motivations from his blood brother David Boro's account. https://punchng.com/northern-nigeria-encouraged-isaac-boros-12-day-revolution-brother-david/ The Biafra of 1967 was a multi-ethnic entity with many nationalities playing prominent roles in that ill-fated enterprises. The three top guys were Ojukwu, General Effiong and NU Akpan who was the Cabinet Secretary (3rd in command). The Amanyanabo of Kalabari was the Chairman of Eastern House of Chiefs, a powerful advisory body to Ojukwu and his government. Same as the Amanyanabo of Okrika. The great kalabari king was exiled and later died in Lagos. Diete-Spiff never allowed his body to be repatriated back to his beloved home. His grave is still at the Ikoyi cemetary and Kalabari has not been the same till today. Have we ever asked how a great Kingdom and pioneer stated diminishing and still a shadow of itself till today. Not done, he cheered as Adaka Boro supported by Yoruba and Northern Nigeria Soldiers humiliated the first electrical Engineer in eastern Nigeria and an illustrious Okrika king was stripped naked publicly and was given 24 lashes by the Nigeria military for supporting Ojukwu and Biafra. The amiable Okrika king was only saved by a Yoruba officer who defended him otherwise he would have died in solitary confinement in Port Harcourt, chained to the floor like a common criminal against the protestation of his beloved subjects. His Kingdom was balkanised into tiny amanyabo kingdoms and then promising Okrika nation was set back for ages. To him Okrikans and Kalabaris were then not Ijaw enough although in his later life he joined others to commission one Prof. Alagoa of Nembe to rewrite the Niger Delta Etimology/history to make his much maligned Okrika and kalabari ethnic nationalities to become Ijaw apparently due to much needed demography for clan based Rivers politics of ethnic nationalities. I will not waste your time to discuss what Adaka Boro and his junior compatriots did to the ancient Ibani kingdoms of Bonny and Opobo. The treatment meted to them were the worst because they speak Igbo language. Boro and his cohorts distroyed the ancient palaces with invaluable artifects and historical books of the great King Pepple and King Jaja respectively. Dieter-Spiff followed Boros inhuman acts against the innocent Ibani people with his forced Ijawnisation program. This was after initially ridiculing them ostensibly due to demography contest with his perceived Igboid upland group. No wonder people heaved a sigh of relief when many years later Bayelsa was created for the Ijaws and many Kalabari elite vehemently refused allowing any of their territory to be seeded to the new state partly due to those experiences under Boro and Diter-Spiff. Ordinary folks were not left out, my grand dad from Etche and indeed other Rivers Ethnic nationalities including Ikwerre people suffered under the abandoned property law that was hastly implemented to sow a seed of discord among the Igbos and their southern neighbours. The satanic law was codedly implemented that most South East Igbos believed even up till today that innocent Ikwerre people were the architect and not the victim since it was done in Ikwerreland. One should note that at this point in history, the Ikwerre had no say in the running of the state and no influence whatsoever in deciding anything. Even prominent Ijaws like Chief Frank Opigo who suggested the name of Biafra for the then emerging state lost his prime property in Port Harcourt to a fellow Ijaw and his cohorts. In fact his model school was also taken over by the state and converted to a School of basic Studies and now a University without compensation to his family till today. I do not blame the Ijaw nation for Adaka Boro and Dieter-spiff connivance with our political enemies of the first republic because Ijaws never met and asked them to commit those atrocities. No one asked Dieter-Spiff to work with then major David Mark to deprive the Igbos and other Southern minorities of their hard earned properties in Port Harcourt whilst not implementing the same evil act on other Igbo 'abandoned prproperties ' in Yorubaland and the North. As I always say, South South and south East Ethnic nationalities have been living in peace and harmony for millennium and will continue to live and intermarry for years to come. At times I get convinced that folks like you are not from the Niger Delta. i am sure we will soon find out and put you in your proper place. Akungitit: |
I do not know about that as I am not from the South East. IPOB were seriously surpressed in Rivers and a such they are almost nonexistent here. Well in the same vein, one can also say that there were no APC induced herdsmen attack or kidnapping during this period as most members were detailed to election duties as seen in recent Benue and Southern kaduna carnage. Agberos in Lagos were also deployed to election duties to intimidate and harm voters and were not found touting at that time. Election is but cycle. It is on record that Igbos have also jointly ruled although as junior partners with the Fulanis both in the First Republic and second republic. Thier time will come again and the Yorubas would be in the opposition. Obi stunning performance have actually elevated the South east and South South political self esteem thus validating the notion that any party with a right candidate can win election irrespective of tribe or region. Jonathan was able to run because he was lucky to inherit Yar'Adua presidency otherwise no major party would have nominated a south Southerner based on your warped political calculations. Secondly, one can now agree with pundits assertion that Peter Odili would have won the presidency as candidate of the ruling if he was prevented by Obj. on the eve of the primaries. Spicycat: |
Overpower Wike? How would you do that? There was no election in most parts of Rivers state during the governorship election. There was no election in Epkeyeland. Minimal election in Etcheland. In Oyigbo, OBALGA, PHALGA and Ogoniland Election was collated manually and results written in INEC office in PH with active connivance of Police and INEC. If that Election was free and fare Wike's candidate would have lost woefully. Same would have happened to Sanwo-Olu in Lagos irrespective of his tribal based campaign and election suppression. Next election would not be a tea party as people would not allow such a heist to happen next time. Legitiscool: |
There is nothing wrong with Igbos and Obi has proved that through his stunning run. South West came to the political centre mostly in this republic. It has always been core Northners and Igbos even after the civil war.Buhari ran with Igbo candidate on several occasion before he formed an alliance with Tinubu. Elections are in cycles and would always favour some for a time and move over to others. With Obi performance I am sure other political parties would not have any problem fielding credible South East and South South candidates in next election. Remember that Jonathan only made it because he was incumbent otherwise PDP or other big parties would not have fielded any South South candidate in that election based on your logic. Obi did not deceive anyone. Obi was a credible candidate based on his antecedent. Secondly the South as whole wanted the presidency to come south but PDP miscalculated believing that with a fulani as the candidate as their candidate can beat any southerner. Had it being they nominated Obi as the candidate, I am sure PDP would have fared better with spread candidate and the motivated Obidients. Tinubu would have even floored Atiku with a larger margin if Obi did not contest. Many folks including the youths registered and participated actively because Obi was in the Ballot, otherwise the APC would have gotten more room to rig in the South South, South East Middle Belt and Lagos. So you want us to accept that rigging is a norm after INEC changed the rules at the middle? I tire for you ooh Legitiscool: |
Kwakwanso went to Northern voters which Tinubu spent billions wooing during the last election on a BBC prime time Hausa program to finish off any atom of respect left for Tinubu in the core North. Kwakwanso said in the widely tuned in station in the most popular tuned in station for both talakwas, fulani elites and even herdsmen that are transmitted on short wave, medium wave and FM to tell them that Tinubu stole their votes. He lambasted Tinubu of winning on a stolen mandate thereby depriving them of their choice in the ballot. Please tell me what is more damaging to Tinubu political career and legitimacy than the aforementioned? Remember that it was on the same station that some CPC/ANPP folks told the northerners that Atiku did not want to be addressed as an Alhaji which made him not to be loved by many core muslims up North till today. Atiku also spoke on the same station to castigate Tinubu and even sent surrogates around including Dino Melaye who disrupted the National collation centre and brought the nation to opprobium. PDP campaign spokesperson Bwala even went further and has been everywhere telling Nigerians that Tinubu is a drug courier and an Addict. APC only singled out Obi as they see his rising profile and possibly trying to demarket him for future contest. However their strategy is failing as many people especially the penticostal fellowship members are fanatically getting attached to him. the only people against him are extremist muslims on both side of the divide and who would never on any circumstances vote for him similar to Jonathan and Obj. Others are political jobbers and hangers on. If APC is sure of themselves, why did they not allow people to vote in Lagos and Rivers state during the last election? Wike knew that our people would punish him for supporting Tinubu hence the resort to brazen rigging. Legitiscool: |
Agreed! Next time no Northerner would come and say some certain part of Nigeria will not win. BVAS has demystify the phantom core Northerner tens of million votes. blacksam01: |
There would not have been any cry if INEC did not change the rule of the game at the middle of the contest. Had it been that the lection result from polling unit were posted online and the result tabulated accordingly and Tinubu won, no one would have contested it. Election should not be won only through fraudulent means. Tinubu was just helped by his parties structure and incumbency factor. had it being that PDP is in government, they would not have allowed the APC to rig massively, or allowed INEC to announce result without Irev Upload or complete collation. None of the contenders would have even gotten half of Obi's vote if they were to contest under a party like LP. Obi would have won if Atiku had allowed him to run under PDP structure. If you remove Atiku from the ballot, his votes would be shared by Obi and Kwakwanso with Obi winning more from the Middle belt Christians that voted for Atiku. The only good thing about this election with BVAS authentication is that it only validate that one can win election without the core Muslim North votes just as Jonathan and Obj did some years ago. The notion of the K-states votes is a myth. Legitiscool: |
My sister, the first lesson in Politics 101 is not to underate an opponent! If Obi is not formidable I do not think APC would be attacking him even after they won election. They would have neglected him as "sore loser" as you folks are making us to believe. Why are they not attacking Atiku and Kwakwanso viciously the way they are attcking Obi. It is on record that Kwakwanso told the Northerners in BBC Hausa radio that Tinubu stole their votes and he won from a stolen mandate and no one in APC is bothered? It is Obi that communicates in Tweeter, Channels and Arise which most Northern population(Tinubu supposedly loyal voters) do not tuned to as stated by El Rufai that the APC propaganda machinery are after. Is that not surprising? SisterAnn: |
The joke is rather on you my man. Obi won Lagos, Abuja and Plateau with 90% of his IPOB members? Come on let be serious! How many people do you think that are in IPOB? They are not even up to 2% of South East or 0.05% of South South population. As far as I know IPOB used only peoples sentiment of political marginalization to win some sympathy at some point but that does not mean that they are members of the organisation Just like the Yoruba Nation, I think you are attributing more political power than IPOB actually have and most IPOB members we know are not interested in Nigeria Politics and do not have voters card. DenreleDave: |
Obi does not hate muslims. He ran with a muslim VP candidate whose father was a known Islamic scholar. One can say that Tinubu hates Christians too since he could not find a Christian worthy in the whole north to run with. DenreleDave: |
You know this is not true! Obi lost mostly because he ran with a little known party without the requisite structure and national spread. Had Obi contested under PDP, he would have won convincingly. The same thing would have happened to Tinubu if he had lost APC ticket and moved to SDP as was rumoured by the media before the primaries. APC structure and incumbency were the factors that helped him. If with those he had to muzzle himself in. Muslim-Muslim ticket was a serious distraction and a minus for him If I may say. Without Atiku on the Ballot, Kwakwanso would have won more core muslim Northern votes and Obi would have won more Northern Christian Belt votes as well as more votes in the South South. Essentially, Kwakwanso and Obi would have shared Atiku's vote with Obi winning the majority. Parachoko: |
Just like Yoruba nation that makes 90% of Yoruba muslim Tinubu supporters I can imagine that we have 90% of those that voted Obi in Lagos as IPOB members going by your logic, Ogbeni Alfa ![]() Legitiscool: |
Obi is one of the most popular politicians in Nigeria Today. His stunning run has actually uplifted the political fortune of the South East. I would not have imagined where the South east geopolitical zone and the Igbos in general would have been today without Obi superb run. I am sure the APC and PDP are afraid of Obi's rising profile and are throwing all kitchen sink to dampened Nigerians likeness for him. Obi just like Buhari has his political map to victory cut out for him either at the tribunal or next election. The elctoral map does not pass through the few core northern states without Christian population and extremist Yoruba muslims. They can never vote for him or any other Christian just like Jonathan and Obj. In future Election, Obi will not need to spend too much resources on forming grassroot structures in South South and South East but focus his efforts in having more structures in Northern Christian Belt, Yorubaland and Middle Belt. He does not need to court the churches too much again as he would have willing followers especially the fast rising Penticostal fellowship members. Even with the little time and resources he had in this election, APC and PDP had to embark on election rigging and voters suppression using their long established to muzzle out the Labour Party. LP would have more structures in the next election and it will not be Business as usual for the rulling party. Legitiscool: |
no, Ojukwu was trying to help liberate Kwara from the claws of Futa jaloon usurpers. Impostor! I thought you were claiming Delta State before, now you have moved to defend Lagos. Please leave Lagos alone, real Omoluabis can do that effectively. Please start with the ancient city of Ilorin that is still under internal colonization of Futa Toro and Jaloon mountains sojourners. After all, charity begins from home! , , ![]() tsdarkside: |
No now, APC failed woefully. I called it a pyrrhic victory. We all know for example that Obi won in Rivers State followed by PDP with APC not even getting the required 25% but Wike got everything turned upside down. Our people wanted to punish Wike and his candidate in the governorship election and he knew it hence his brazen rigging with active Federal Governement participation. You saw what happened in Lagos too and elsewhere hence the desperation as you rightly said to reactivate the old rivalry between the South South and South East geopolitical zones. Our people are wiser now. We all need good governance and not political patronage which have kept the country backward for so long. APC days are numbered if they continuw on this path! NothingDoMe: |
Someone that ran on a Mu-mu ticket in a multireligious Nigeria is not religious Politics? Even Buhari considers that ticket too extreem hence his choice of Osinbajo. Please tell me another thing. Would you be happy as a mosman to vote a Christian christian Ticket in Nigeria of today? tsdarkside: |
Impostor! You are not from Delta or anywhere from the Niger Delta. Everyone in this forum knows this. Stop foooling around old man. tsdarkside: |
Your message is not lost, my bother! It is a deliberate misinformation pioneered by APC to hoodwink gullible folks to curry their sympathy. It all started just before the election and unfortunately they seem to have succeeded in this satanic act. APC has nothing to campaign for hence they reduced the whole campaign to ethnic and religious politics. I hope they would not govern this way because what they just won was a pyrrhic victory. NothingDoMe: |
Stay calm you impostor! Who is doing Biafra with you? If you want to discuss Biafra, go to Simon Epka's page and discuss your Biafra there. Better still, you can go talk to Nnamdi Kanu IPOB page and Asari Dokubo who is the President of Biafra Customary Government. When did you see leaders of South East or South South sanctioning to join Biafra? It is on record that EK Clark warned IPOB not to drag South South to their phantom Federation likewise Ohaneze declaring Simon Epka wanted? In fact most folks in South South and South East are suspecting that the insecurity in the South East is imported and your party and president (s)elect as major sponsors of the renegade groups. In your region we also have separatist group like the Yoruba Nation but no one is crucifying the Yorubas because of the lawless group since they do not have the support of Afenifere. Why are you hiding under our beloved geopolitical zone to mouth your Igbophobia.? Do you know how many million Igbos that are indigenes of South South? I am from a Local government in Rivers that have our people both in South South and in two states in South East. That shows you how folks are interrelated on both side of the geopolitical divide. Every Ethnic nationality in the Niger Delta lives in harmony and respect boundaries as always been done since time immemorial. Who gave you the effrontery to tell Igbo speaking Deltans to relocate to South East? Have you ever seen other Nigerians telling your people in Kwara or Kogi to relocate to South West, you nitwi--.? I will urge other fellow Niger Deltans in this forum to continue to push back and repudiate your caustic comments against the great Igbo Nation in this forum while hiding under the banner of being a native of the blessed South South Region. tsdarkside: |
I am so happy that everyone here knows that you are an irredentist headsl..... and no one takes you serious. It bothers me so much that a fully grown man would deny his identity and pose as coming from a zone he knows nothing about. Your only objective of joining this noble forum is to trumpet your bigotry and Igbophobia. I have no problems with that. I only take exception of fronting yourself as a Niger Deltan and spewing all this horrific Igbophobia in this forum. Claim your real identity Adeniyi and see if anyone would respond your comment you old fuul. It is very pleasant seeing many South Southerners coming here to repudiate your caustic comment against and neighbours from the South East. tsdarkside: |
