UBKtech: Took only 14 days then, but hear the timeline now is about 4 -6 weeks. Best of luck with your application, which class did you apply for: 189, 190? The class may also affect how soon you will get a CO, but you can go ahead and do your medicals and police clearance. It will help fastrack the overall process.
Class 189 is what Iapplied for. Meanwhile when I check my status online I see ''In progress'' but I heard this class of visa almost take up to 1yr to get d visa is doing medicals and clearance not took early? †нªηк's for your Response

UBKtech: I joined this forum in 2012 when I started the process of applying for my Australian PR, there has been hitches and obstacles along the way, due to a medical condition of one of my dependents, this has now been sorted out and we look set to get the golden e-mail within the next sixty days.
@UBKtech am so happy for you. So happy in the sense that I have someone I could ask a few questions concerning this PR. Justa a quickie I applied on the 15th of this month for my PR after I was invited. Pls how long did it take you from the moment you lodged your application to when you got your 1st response to do the medical and do police clearance. †нªηк's

rufychuks: Thanks man, must i be registered with the relevant body first?
To the best of my knowledge I think that's where the work starts after which you can apply. You can also test your chances but going to immigration website www.immi.gov.au apply for an EOI (Expression of Interest) that a mock evaluation on your chances. @ d end you will see your scores and how well you fared on any of the available slot.

rufychuks: Hi all, you guys are making things easy for us o. @jenny, you said you work in the health sector there. How do you think my chances are if i apply to study medical resonance imaging and ultrasound? i want your advice pertaining the flexibility of being able to work while schooling.
Hi I just want to reply your thread. 1st of all your quest to study the above named course are nice but I'll like you to know a few things. I also stand to be corrected by my Aussie friends especially those in the Health sector. MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, CT scan etc name all the medical imaging fields are technically sub-sepcialty under the Umbrella name Radiography or Medical Imaging Science or Radiologic Technologist depending on the part of the world you reside all basically carry out the same function. I'm a Nigerian Trained Radiographer as so is my wife also. We have done our IELTS, Course Assessment by our Australian Body and I'm also an accreditated medical Radiographer by Australian standards after assessment. I was recently invited to apply for my PR which I did a couple of Moments ago. My advise is you go for Radiography as a course by the time you are half way you can decide the sub-specialty that suits you. All the best

T.Moni:
Since your applying for a skilled migrant visa i think just filling in the city will be sufficient as they know your not visiting but coming to stay.
As you have been invited to apply...you shld get your visa in less than 4 months. Congrats in advance!

manmeta: Dear all,

I've been following this thread for a while. I was granted my Independent Skilled Visa a couple of months ago. Just a word of advice for intending and serious migrants: The whole process can be very easy and short if you take your time to first understand all that is required, otherwise, it could be confusing. Get all your paper work ready first. I did my IELTS in Sept. last year, got my qualifications assessed in December and submitted my application in Feb. I was notified to do my medicals and penal clearance in May and in Sept. I was granted visa, just 7 months after my application was submitted!

I would advise you to invest time in knowing all what is required of you first. Having a full understanding of this will make the process faster and easier.
Tnx for your advise I think my application will look somewhat like yours. I did my IELTS Dec 2012 had my credentials certified march 2013 and was invited to apply on the 6th of may 2013, tho am yet to lodge my application because am waiting for my dependents to wrap up there IELTS exam by the end of the month, please can you brief me on some other things that will help me get through the process. thanks

ferdimako: Congrats! Yours is just 3,000AUD visa fee, we the students are looking for more.I will do medicals early June in Abuja right after my IELTS Academic. You can ask bbmega for his place address.I assure him is just to get in and get papers, you sure have plans for your own place soon after arrival. I will do the PR thing after my studies. Australia is always in need of doctors, nurses and paramedics. I would love to help some nurses here in Jos but don't know how to handle it. At least I know how to kickstart for computer science dudes at ACS.Any ideas on how Nurses get evaluated? It appears they must be registered in Australia.
Yes definitly all preofessionals need to get evaluated by there parent body in Australia. I had my Academic IELTS dec 2012 got my Evaluation done around March this year and i was invited to apply on the 6th of May.

Please how much does medicals cost in Abuja i just wanna have ano idea.

bbamega: Generally , its rough and I will say this honestly leaving your home to another country is a big a challenge and anybody coming to Australia must have this at the back of their mind that the road is rough and joy at the end.

However , for another challenge in the area of courses and PR I must say this any 9ija students coming should please check the International office very well and may be ask question about scholarships mostly for science students. i have seen a lot of 9ija with scholarship and they are doing fine.

@ tyrexx probably you can check me 66,Niagara just take taxi and ask for the street. Please be very careful about spending because I have same experience don't rush to buy things please and I think you bring enough 9ija food because you cant get it in Armidale except Sydney and which is about 8hrs journey.

May almighty God help everyone of us I am ready to assist any 9ija coming to Australia and help Jenny our mother in the house may God bless you and bless 9ija.
