Yes this will cut cost because the volume of concrete and steel used in ribbed floor slabs are smaller when compared to the solid floor slab options.

However this floor type is economical where the span is large and there is need to reduce the weight on the building.

Well, it could probably cut cost but I'm not too sure, the Workmanship involved too is something to consider.
The picture of the one posted hasn't been fully constructed for casting.
Though, the slabs thickness will be lighter.
