[quote author=bjdon post=28368844]When Turai and her cabal secretly flew a brain dead Yar'dua back to Nigeria and tried to run a puppet govt, Goodluck stood firm and refused to budge. That tool REAL courage considering the chief of army staff and brigade of guards commanders were all Northerners loyal to Turai. Goodluck will always have my admiration for that.

Ok nice one. You one against seven as at now

I voted GEJ in the last election but, i have decided not to give him my vote come next year based on his inabilities to protect lives and properties that he swore to protect. Hence, i challenge lovers of GEJ administration to sell the perceived weak president to me and people like me why we should vote him again.

Please take into consideration that this post is not about PDP rather its about GEJ and GEJ alone....

Lets begin.
Business / Strictly For Genuine Business Minds by OAM(m): 1:51pm On Nov 26, 2014
Successful entrepreneurs have a unique set of personal characteristics, including the drive to take risks and embrace failure but, that is not what i see on this section. Its a shame to read here day after day about business ideas that is not attainable. I am not an active member on this section but, i am a regular viewer of this laudable section, and i believe Seun meant well for all and intending business men and women on this section.

However, its disheartening to read posts from supposed business minded people talking about gamble oriented businesses, i see greedy and laze members posting unrealistic business ventures and giving wrong business advice to innocent Nairalanders. And this is indeed very bad for us all and most importantly young business men and women here.

Its key we all assist and encourage serious minded individuals here on this platform and other relative ones. And as a result i have decided to help develop growing business initiatives for young minds here. I encourage anyone with a viable business proposal to take the initiative by mailing me his or her challenges as regards his initiative and we collectively develop and make the initiative professional, thereby giving the business owner(s) leverage to pitch for top potential investors.

NOTE: Please kindly give an overview to your business initiative along with your mail address, and if it makes business sense "i.e if it satisfies a segment" i send you an email to that effect and we move on from there. All business proposal sent to my mail would be acknowledge by me for your own concern..

Politics / Nairaland Made My Day by OAM(m): 8:33pm On Nov 19, 2014
I had one of the most busiest day at the office yesterday, had three major meetings with top clients within our stable. And being one of the dudes in Business Development worsened it as all the meeting's was initiative driven, brand activation, bla bla bla. I was mentally weak and i needed to re-energize myself with what i know how to do best "Nairaland, Punchonline, Premiumtimes, London Hereald Tribune etc" but, unfortunately apple had another plans for me.

I am a guy that has sworn by Apple, its expensive but, its worth every penny. I decided to run all my apple device with the latest iOS 8 so as to enable me receive calls with my system regardless of distance. The whole upgrading distorted my internet service and i couldn't get to join my guzs via the E joint. On getting home, i hurriedly sorted the issue and within minutes i was back on, quickly went through my mails, made some calls and i finally rushed to the bathroom for a fresh shower. And immediately i jumped on Nairaland to relax and join my fellow Nairalanders in discussions but, within me i knew i wasn't ready for the whole PDP and APC wahala. I just wanted something fresh and educative for the night.

Usually i just run through trending topics on the front page and move to straight to politics "The jewel of NL", after which i run through Romance section to see how the NL kids are doing "lol". Hence, i wasn't expecting an interesting front page yesterday but, to my surprise it was one of the best in many months for me. One of the first post that made it to the front page yesterday was "Love Story Of A Unilag Babe And A Bus Conductor" by Maclatunji. The story wasn't just about its lines or paragraph, it was about the message it carries, sincerely i don't care if the story is a fiction, whats important is the effect it had on all of us; i personally shared that story with my colleagues at the office and i was glad i did.

The second interesting post for me was "He Finally Experienced Travelling By Air For The Very First Time" by contactmorak. I followed the initial trend where the op was seeking advice from fellow Nairalanders and it reminded me of my first experience. Everyone showed him love and gave him all the needed info, it was like brothers helping another and we were all glad he came back to show appreciation.

Each of us has probably, at some time or another, felt the effects of appreciation in our life. It generates a marvelously giddy feeling of self worth and creates a human connection to others that encourages us towards even more collaborative relationships. As a Nairalander, it is important to give appreciation to the super mods for a work well done yesterday.

Seun please kindly encourage these fresh blend of mod you have, we believe in them. We are hungry for more now that we have tasted juice.

NOTE: Its a shame we couldnt qualify.#FollowTeamGhana

Politics / We Gave GEJ A Country In One Piece But We Are Taking It Back In Pieces by OAM(m): 9:50pm On Nov 15, 2014
I have mused repeatedly over this piece, written, adjusted, and eventually contemplated if it as worth the while writing about the inability of a president we gave our country in one piece to but, he is giving it back to us in pieces come 2015.

Goodluck Ebele Jonathan unarguably has an impressive dossier among Nigeria’s living and dead presidents. Like Barak Obama, his story is too good to be true – one of such that make atheists to reconsider their stance on God, nature, spirituality, deity and the trinity. His ascension to the highly coveted post (ask Atiku how bad he wants it) is meteoric, and when made into a film directed by a veteran director like Spike Lee or our own Kunle Afolayan, his story could become more successful than Fela on Broadway. This is the only good thing that I can make of an unpresidential president.

The detractors of President Goodluck Jonathan will retort scornfully that he is a total failure, while his ardent supporters will scream that he is a huge success. But, It’s rather funny that every time we say “it cannot be worse”, it gets worse. Under the Jonathan-led administration, Nigerians have not faired better hence there is nothing exceptional about his government except his ascension to power, and a fascinating first name. In addition, his style of ruling the nation highlights the resounding gong of danger that warrants our collective and individual close attentions.

President Jonathan has been the chief executive officer of Nigeria for more than five years now. That is enough time to gauge his performance as the leader of the most populous nation in Africa and the seventh most populous nation in the world. What, however, are the minuses of President Jonathan? His biggest negative, is his inability to stop the violence from the Islamic fundamentalist group, Boko Haram. From a radical group that fought policemen with guns, bows and arrows in 2009 in Borno State , Boko Haram metamorphosed speedily into a bomb-making, bomb-throwing, suicide-mission-savvy group that has become a terror in Nigeria. Even though the security authorities have recorded occasional results against this group, the fact that Boko Haram has continued to operate in some parts of the North, causing bloodshed and anguish, is a factor that irritates Nigerians. Since the September 11, 2001 al-Qaeda attack on the United States and the July 7, 2005 attack on the United Kingdom, no other attack has succeeded in these two countries. It is therefore viewed as a failure on the part of the President.

When a criminal is in a locality and visits theft on the unsuspecting locals, the only way to avoid detection is to point in another direction as the search for the criminal ensues. The criminal blames the stranded traveler who lodged in a nearby motel or the stranded trader who slept in the market square or even the mentally deranged who lives near the sewage pit. This is the formula the Jonathan led government is using in other for Nigerians to look the other way while seeking for sponsors of Boko Haram.

Immediately after the bombings of the United Nations headquarters in Abuja, intelligence reports indicted high level friends of government in the executive, legislature, senior party officials, elder statesmen and security officers including retired ones. It is expected that President Goodluck will seize the opportunity of the uproar and outrage against the bombings to confront the indicted senior members of the party. Instead he chose to appeal to some of them to turn a new leaf. Emboldened by presidential timidity the murderers recruited more high level personalities, hitherto sitting on the fence, into the murderous chess game.

Times without number, Mr President has spoken eloquently on his resolve, and that of the various security outfits, to keep Nigeria and Nigerians safe; he has also vowed to apprehend perpetrators of evil acts yet these actors keep repeating their acts (just like Ocean Eleven), sometimes confidently pre-empting us by issuing privy statements to the government about their intentions. They can now blow up – successfully, whatever they feel like blowing up knowing that the president will only make another reassuring speech on national TV, vowing to catch the perpetrators at all cost. The perennial Jos crisis is one of such numerous instances that showcase Goodluck as a poor crisis manager. Despite his assurance and reassurances, the city remains ablaze.

Finally, do we then describe Jonathan as a failure or a success? Hardliners hardly change their positions, no matter the strength of evidence before them. But for me, I would neither describe Jonathan as a success nor a failure. Rather, I would say that he has lost several opportunities to worm his way into the hearts of Nigerians but has taken advantage of a few. I just wished the Igbo's votes and that of the South South would keep him beyond 2015 but, its unfortunate some Igbo's and the South South sees him as incapable to remain in Aso Rock.

NOTE: Am aware of some blinded Igbo's who believe Jonathan is the best president ever. However, lets not forget about the little girls in the hands of those rag soldiers called Boko Haram.

You can vote any party of your choice but, ensure you #KickGejOut2015

He has the right to belong to a political party or believe in its idealogy

well said, the issue is simple; Seun to my best of knowledge is neutral in his dealings as far as Nl is concerned. The fact is that his platform has been hijacked by politicians, he needs to find a way round this growing trend. Dont be surprised if PDP or APC bid for NL

Nairaland. Punchng. Premiumtimes, Lynda Ikeji, Bella 9ja etc. These names stir up feelings, opinions, and experiences in just about all of us. Some love Punchng or Nairaland more than other local social platforms, while others merely have a passing fancy in these services. Regardless of the level of involvement, there is no denying the immense popularity of these growing brands and how positively the have contributed to our daily lives.

As these services rise in popularity, top brands have begun to use them to reach out to existing and potential customers. Some companies uses Punchng but not Nairaland. Some use Premiumtimes but not Bella 9ia. Some combines two or more of these local social paltform's, while others use neither of them.

Sometime late last year i wrote an article here tittled "Nairaland IN VIEW", the focus of that article was to help Nairaland review her mode of operations, step up her game and bring back the glorious days of Nairaland when we had good front page, brilliant moderators. I was shocked to see my post deleted barely five minutes, it came to me as a surprise why my post was deleted.

Looking at my best paddy Niaraland, i am reminded of a typical Nigerian Nigerian brand, one that thinks of herself as the best thing to ever happen to Nigeria and sees no need to improve on her services to better the end users. I am sad about how Nairaland is declining everyday, the mod are so lay back in doing what is expected of them all. The front page is the most boring part of Nairaland lately, am aware of Seun placing vacancy for a super mod and this i was glad to see but, truth be told; does Seun really wants a change to his brand? can he admit the fact that Niaraland is declining?

Nairaland is one of the oldest social media platform in Nigeria and yet, Seun cannot boast of a single top stories emanating from hie own stable. Yes, Nairaland relies on Premium times, Sahara Reporters, Lynda Ikeji and most times armature bloggers "all are local medium" to generate content. Lets say its good to share content with others, after all no one has monopoly of the social media, yet it takes Nairaland a whole day if not more to bring the copy and paste news to us here.

Am aware that 90% of Nairaland's content comes from the members, the rest comes from other platforms and this is not good for Nairaland. Its important for Seun to start spending real money to generate her in house contents, pay journalist to help you investigate lead stories, that way you have your own side of the story. Premiutimes, Sahara Reporters, Punchng, Lynda Ikeji are heading sway cause they are spending a whole lot to generate in house content and thats why companies are running to these platforms to place ad.

My humble opinion to Seun is to keep this post open and not delete it, employ savvy youth as moderators, try to update trending stories on real time happenings, bring good materials posted by members to the front page. I see no reason why Davido drinking garri pics makes it to front page and educated post from someone like cramjones and the likes remains on the politics segment.

Nairaland all the way........... Shout out to all the APC's and the PDP's.....

Politics / Ffk Is A Disgrace by OAM(m): 10:57pm On Nov 03, 2014
In his usual manner, Femi Fani-Kayode on 3rd of Nov, 2014 (as published by Premium Times) made a passionate observation titled "Some Hard Questions For The Buharists"; a religious advocacy targeted at the APC. When I saw the topic SOME HARD QUESTIONS FOR THE BUHARISTS, my thought was someone has finally got convincing reasons to question the rock-solid reputation of Buhari on corruption, selflessness, religious sentiments, or whatever. Something to give someone a reasonable doubt about his person.

Naturally, the former Minister, going by his antecedent entertaining but uninformative treatises and penchant for idealistic (ethnic and religious) bigotry, does not worth one’s response. One needs to wonder: what value and difference will it make in responding to a character that once described Obama as an Anti-Christ in disagreement with US policies? Won’t it be pertinent to examine the ethical standard (as expected of an Omoluabi) of a one-time attack dog of the Presidency, who took our elders like the respected Kongi to cleaners at every stance of the literary icon’s posture against the then administration? Won’t it be necessary to test the intellectual healthiness of a person who had once published his ‘penisume’ (a fusion of penis and resume) so as to defend his alleged ethnic chauvinism? But, before the apostles of ‘the-message-is-different-from-the-messenger’ bounce on me, before I am taken on another psychotic tutorial of dealing with the message and leaving the messenger alone, let me pretentiously consent, and put his message under scrutiny. At least, from Socrates’ words “the unexamined life is not worth living”, hence, an unscrutinised opinion is not worth taking.

A lot of aspersions are being casted on the Leaders of the All Progressive Congress by Femi Fani-Kayode in an unholy calculated attempt to confuse the vast majority of Nigerians that subscribes to the importance of an opposition party in a fair political environment. It is on record that Femi Fani-Kayode, a Former aide to President Olusegun Obasanjo and a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party at this moment is leaving no stone unturned in his numerous attacks against key Chieftains of the All Progressive Congress, especially in the person of Buhari.

With good intent and purpose, it is imperative to dissect the claims of Femi Fani-Kayode on the pursuance of an Islamic Agenda by the APC at the expense of Religion Freedom enshrined in the Nations Constitution, with a view to confirm the sincerity of the APC Manifestos that tends to suggest solutions to the nations maladies and equally check the intentions and gains of Femi Fani-Kayode in his relentless campaign of calumny against the APC.

Femi Fani-Kayode has branded the All Progressive Congress as Almajiri Peoples Congress and Haramist, in many of his authored articles, where he labeled APC as an Islamic Party with religious agenda on perceived possibility of an emergence of Muslims as Flag bearers of APC for the Office of President and Vice President, alleged APC to have turned Yoruba and the entire Southern Part of the Country into perpetual slaves and pursuance of anti-Christian Agenda and many more. For the sake of brevity, it is important to dwell on these issues capable of deepening the chasm between Christians and Muslims in Nigeria.

For the avoidance of doubt, Nigeria as a nation blessed with many visionary, exposed and experienced personalities in all spheres of life, is too vast for any group to impose a religious agenda in any form on the people or the nation, both the Constitution and system of governance greatly forbids such exploits. The membership of political parties in Nigeria spread across all religions in Nigeria, then one imagine how the APC would pursue a religious agenda at the expense of another religion which demeans the freedom of believe in the Country. For the sake of clarity, In the struggle for democracy under the military juntas, the Civilians were united as Nigerians in crave for civil rule in Nigeria to an extent of religious fidelity among Nigerians as seen in the 1993 and 1999 Presidential Elections. In 1993, the leadership of the Social Democratic Party and National Republican Party both presented Muslims as Presidential Flag bearers while in 1999, PDP and APP both presented Christians which earned the support of vast majority of the electorates without complaints by the religious leaders.

Critical looks at the claims of Femi Fani-Kayode clearly confirm the usage of under hand methods by some unsuspecting religious bigots to escalate the crises between some ignorant religious people misdirecting the affairs of our Nation. Today we have a Christian President, Senate President, Deputy Senate President and Deputy Speaker of the House of Rep, over 90% of APC Muslim's leaders cum governors are married to Christians. Fani kayode fails to understand that the problem of Nigeria is not religion but, Security and the will to bring the perpetrators to book, finding and rescuing the Chibok girls. And corruption and greed perpetuated by lack of love for one another. The real enemy of Nigeria are the political class who have killed more people for rituals and through political thuggery than boko haram in the history of the nation, as well as mindless kidnappers and looters that have robbed the poor of decent living.

It is not misinforming to state that the hype in the religious sentiments comes to fore in the administration of President GoodLuck Jonathan, though its important to note that the rise of sectarian crises in the Northern Nigeria has been a serious matter claimants have used as grounds either to sustain arguments on the adversity of the current administration of President Jonathan and the adversaries of his re-election bid comes 2015.

The only surviving AD Governor in the Nigeria as at 2003 rallied other party leaders to form Action Congress that regained control of South West, related with the structures of APP that later changed name to ANPP and other Political structures like Congress for Progressive Change that all merged to form the All Progressive Congress as the leading opposition party to challenge the inactions of the Federal Government to the gain of our democracy. If not for the intervention and pro-active efforts of the leading leaders of APC, the Nation was headed towards a One-Party State with dominance of PDP which spell doom for the Nation.

It is on record that, in all the dealings above, there was no point a religious interest surfaced and one wonder the reason behind the wicked blackmails and campaigns against political leaders in the opposition party spearheaded by Femi Fani-Kayode and co travellers. An insight into the personality of Femi Fani-Kayode reveals that he inherited his expertise of mischief and despondency from his father, who was a progenitor of disunity among the Yoruba people, pursued Christian Agenda at the expense of public good and contributed immensely to the discord between Chief Awolowo and Chief Akintola, I stand seriously to be quoted on this. It is then easy to conclude that Femi Fani-Kayode picked his dubious tendencies from his father and does not deserve to be taken serious in his political actions and show of ignorance on religion as a bigot, alarmist and extremist.

In as much as any region of the present Nigeria should be respectfully allowed to secede without insulting the sensibilities of others, even as the debate for/against its potential advantages continues, in as much as right to self-determination should be allowed without making mockery of the theocratic inferno consuming this particular region, what we have at our hand now is to continuously mount pressure on the Presidency to grow witty and steel balls and deal with the situation decisively. And we must never allow personalities like Goodluck Jonathan or Femi Fani-Kayode–characters suffering from chronic ethnic and religious bigotry–to mount the podium of our leadership again.

My view is that Goodluck Jonathan is deliberately not fighting Boko Haram (as he should) so as to maintain instability in places where he feels he will not be voted for. The nonchalant attitude is simply as a result of some vengeance against a perceived region we tag 'born to rule' so if they kill themselves to the last man, it served the purpose of the primitive man who just see himself as President and Commander in Chief of a segment of Nigeria. The seeming indifference and 'God catch them' attitude of the Jonathan administration against countless victims, women, children and elderly continuously massacred by Boko Haram is disgraceful.

For the record i am a Christian but, am way to educated to be fooled by these people.

Nigeria’s importance to global security hinges on the fact she is not only the most populous country in Africa, but also strategically located in a region (Gulf of Guinea) that is a major source of the world’s oil. From the 1960 Congo crisis when Nigeria began contributing troops for international peacekeeping, the country has maintained consistency as a key player in both the United Nations and regional peacekeeping missions, thus contributing to world peace. However, Nigeria is currently facing serious internal security challenges, the most serious ones being the Boko Haram insurgency in the northeastern states. Here i am thinking about how much is budgeted on security yearly and yet our soldiers are ill equipped. And not a single ex or servicing General is in jail. Why shouldn't soldiers run from duty post if they are ill equipped to fight the well funded dreaded boko haram, why should a man with a wife and children risk his life when the Commander in Chief of the arm forces stays in safe haven encouraging criminals to eat up security budget in Abuja.

Three hundred days ago, 276 school girls from Chibok were rounded up during their exams and spirited away into the forests of north-east Nigeria. For Nigerians, it was further evidence of how corruption and incompetence continue to wreak havoc in the lives of ordinary women, children and men. How could a once ragtag clutch of extremists reach this level of sophistication and coordination, completely unchecked by the Government? Much of the answer lies in the authorities’ slow response to any kind of crisis.

At every step the president and his supporters have shown themselves to be disconnected from their citizens. It took Jonathan nearly three weeks to make a public statement about the kidnappings and even then, he criticized traumatized parents for not doing enough to aid search and rescue efforts. If that wasn't bad enough, the government appears to have been harassing key figures in the #BringBackOurGirls campaign, most recently the former education minister, Obiageli Ezekwesili. Image seems to be the highest priority for an administration too incompetent to mount an effective rescue mission.

Frustrated campaigners have been portrayed as opposition party stooges. A presidential statement argued: “Those who would manipulate the victims of terrorism for their own benefit are engaging in a similar kind of evil: psychological terrorism.” Harsh words to level at activists merely demanding the government fulfill one of its most basic duties – protecting its citizens.

To illustrate the authorities’ seeming inaction, a friend recounted one episode where the police did not request a potentially valuable testimony from a girl who managed to escape her kidnappers.

“When her parents took her to the local police station to report that she had just returned from three months in Boko Haram captivity, the words of the police to her parents were ‘lucky you, you better go back home and thank your lucky stars that you managed to escape’. There was no attempt to document what had happened to her or investigate,” she said.

The situation is as variegated and complex as Nigeria itself.

On one side of the coin is corruption. The United States under-secretary of state for civilian security, democracy and human rights, Sarah Sewall, said this much recently. According to her, despite Nigeria's $5.8bn security budget this year, supplies as basic as bullets and transport vehicles do not reach the front-lines of the struggle against Boko Haram. Besides, soldiers grumble, rightly or wrongly, that their leaders do not pay them their wages when they are due. Some of them have also complained that some of the weapons given to them are obsolete. Even some of the weapons the terrorists use were reportedly stolen from the Nigerian military. Some online media reported in May that nine generals and some other senior officers were under investigation for their alleged role in the sale of arms to Boko Haram. Though the military has denied this.

Formal Adamawa State Governor, Murtala Nyako, accused Nigeria's President and key government officials of possibly supporting state terrorism during a speech on security challenges in Northern Nigeria at the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) in Washington, DC.

The ex governor said, the arms, ammunition and explosives being used by so-called Boko Haram are not manufactured in Nigeria. Somebody must have brought them from abroad to the scenes of attacks. With military check-points mounted everywhere in far greater numbers than we had during our civil war and with only the President, the Vice President and their key staff and Governors of the States on one hand and the Nigerian Military on the other who pass these points unchecked, we could safely assume that it is one of the two groups who conveys these weapons up country from the Port(s) after Custom and Security clearance.

He further said, "The security situation facing the Northern Nigeria today could be sponsored, financed and supported by
evil minded and over-ambitious leaders of Government and the society for political gains. There is simply no person(s) in the North-Eastern zone rich enough to foot the financial and logistic bills on Boko Haram activities. Somebody outside the zone must have bought these arms, ammunition's and explosives somewhere which is easily traceable, paid the freight charges to Nigeria, cleared them at the Ports, conveyed them up-country through numerous check-points and put them in safe-houses in the States ready to be used by the appointed killers. He also said The people in the North have also begun to suspect that the Objective of all this is to create enough mayhem for an excuse to deny them their democratic right of Vote by canceling the forthcoming General Elections in the region and also reduce the Voting power of the people now and in the future through mass killings of its populace especially its youths.

The ex governor concluded by saying The Presidency should give us answers to all the foregoing serious questions and we do not want insults by aides in response or harassment by detailed Security operatives! We want the ANSWERS; Nigeria also wants the ANSWERS; the international community too should want the ANSWERS. You all know the rest after his bravery.

We can disagree on different issues ranging from Economic reforms, Power, Job creation etc. but, i believe the issue of security is one thing the present administration can not defend. Even President Goodluck Jonathan once said Boko Haram had infiltrated his government. That is why some secret information on military movements is allegedly leaked to the insurgents. Late General Azazi boldly and surprisingly made the admission that the boko haram is PDP and narrowed it down to the result of ‘unconstitutional’ PDP convention regulations.

General Azazi obviously had the office and capacity to know the real details behind Boko Haram. His position as the Nations Security Adviser, put him at the head of that information. If anyone should know who and what is behind Boko Haram, it would be someone who occupies that office. Shortly after daring to give the truth to the Nigerian people, General Azazi was not only fired from his position, but killed when his helicopter was exploded over Bayelsa. And that is why the American officers, who came to help rescue the young school girls abducted by Boko Haram since April 14, 2014, reportedly said they would not share intelligence information with their Nigerian counterparts.

General Andrew Azazi is a martyr and national hero. In these times, when people kill to simply remain in power and at favor, General Azazi dared to differ. Those of us who used to question him in the past, have now forgiven him out of respect for his laying down his life, to squarely point out the root of Nigeria’s problems and courageously open the door for us Nigerians to address this. He will never be forgotten and is death will not be in vain, by Gods mighty grace.

The Civilian JTF has been heroically proactive in waging a dangerous war against terror. They have surprised and thrilled the world with their courage, determination and prowess. We pray for those among them and the good civilians of the north east who die fighting this battle. Hundreds of terrorists have been arrested by the youth, who are leaving no stone unturned as they go for Boko Haram terrorists. Additionally, they are fully committed to pursuing the sponsors, because success is only worth it if those behind the senseless organisation are brought to book.

The Civilian JTF made a promise on June 27, to go after the chairman of the ANPP party in Borno, Alhaji Mala Atuman. He has since been on the run, and his home was burned down by youth. The youth also went after former governor of Borno state, Alhaji Modu Sheriff while most of these names has been cleared by our present Government.

Every Day Jonathan Ceases to Fire, Nigeria’s North Loses More Territory to Boko Haram

As the momentum increased; as Nigerians sang a victory song; as we tweeted and posted the hashtag: #VictoryForNigeria; suddenly as had been predicted and as had been the way over and over throughout the past six years of the Jonathan-Ihejirika and now Jonathan-Minimah/Badeh command of the Nigerian war on Boko Haram, the Jonathan government suddenly cut back on its assault on terror to give the dying terrorists a breather.

It is necessary for the Jonathan administration, in addition to respecting its people, by canceling any talk of amnesty for terrorists caught by the brave forces of the military and the civilian forces, but to also go after and make top level arrests of the sponsors of this organisation. The winds of time(God) and the people are behind such action and in full support; reluctance to act appropriately and in recognition of the thousands who have died at the hands of terrorists and their sponsors, will pit the Nigerian government against its people.

Evidences against GEJ is enormous and my candid advice for him is to do the needful by bringing all the blood sucking individuals cum groups to justice or get ready for the Hague after losing the 2015 election to the opposition.

Yes, Pastor Gabriel Olalekan Popoola will vote for GMB because he is ignorant of what his position is in Christ.
It baffles me when I see By Force Pastors deceiving those who cannot pick up their bible and find out God’s mind.
God has place us above all principalities and powers, yet some Christians will prefer to be slave to others.
Read: Rev 1 vs 6
And also Galatians chapters 4 and 5 respectively to know who you really add in Christ.

Hey guzs, just came across this beautiful write up and decided to share it with all the PDP and GEJ sympathizers

Nigeria is a land of plenty where the majority of her citizens live in sheer inadequacy. This incongruity is traceable to the activities of her visionless and rudderless leaders over the years. And in about four months from now, the nation will have yet another opportunity to elect a new set of leaders at both the federal and state levels.

Given the strange kind of federalism that we practice, which concentrates too much powers and money at the center, it is certain that titanic battles will be fought, by the opposing political parties, to capture it. And at the moment, that battle has already begun. The PDP, the party that currently controls the center, and by extension our national wealth, is fighting tooth and nail to ensure it does not lose its hold on power.

In doing so, the party is employing ethnicity and religion as tools of mind control in order to ensure victory, even when it is clear that the party and the crop of leaders it produced in 2011 have remained incapable of delivering democratic dividends to millions of Nigerians who voted them into power.

Take, for instance, the electricity catastrophe in the nation. In May, 2010, when President Goodluck Jonathan assumed office, he promised that his priority would be to confront Nigeria’s age long electricity conundrum. On August 26 of the same year, The President came out with his elaborate power sector roadmap and assured Nigerians that noticeable improvements would be achieved in power supply across the nation.

In 2013, about three years after he assumed office, power generation, according to Prof. Chinedu Nebo, the regime’s Minister of Power, dropped from 4,350mw to 2,628.4mw. As of today, power outages have become the norm rather than the exception in most parts of the country, and uninterrupted power supply has turned into a mere wishful thinking of most city dwellers across the country.

Bear in mind that this situation is despite billions of naira that has been spent, and still being spent, by this administration in this sector, including the recently (September, 2014?) approved N213, 000,000,000.00 (two hundred and thirteen billion naira) facility as bailout for the power sector. You are compelled to ask: just where is the money going to? And this is just one of the many sectors that are receiving billions for resuscitation, but which have remained comatose.

I find it rather strange that some Nigerians don’t see any reason to ask important questions as long as their own slices of bread are buttered; or, as long as the President is their ethnic son or brother. The other day, Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) (whatever that really means) were practically falling over one another, in frenzy, trying to publicize all the transformational strides of this administration. Everything was as jocular as it was ridiculous. I think a leader that can’t give me an item that he promised me, even when all the resources – human and financial – are readily within his reach, is not worth being given another four years.

Don’t misunderstand me, I consider Mr. President a good man. His humble disposition when he was being pummeled by late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua’s men has not been forgotten. However, being a good man does not make him a good president. He appears totally overwhelmed by the enormous responsibilities of his office, such that delivering on his promises has become a difficult thing.

In this situation, looking for an alternative to President Goodluck Jonathan becomes obligatory. One of the persons that have made themselves available for the service of the fatherland is General Muhammadu Buhari (GMB). Since his declaration in Abuja weeks back, a lot of venomous invectives have been spat at him by PDP apologists. It has been claimed by those who are not comfortable with him that he is both, at the same time, an ethnic jingoist and a religious fundamentalist. This is untrue.

The first lie being bandied about is the notion that GMB is not acceptable to the electorates, outside of the northern states where he commands a cult-like followership. The impression that voters, across South-West, South-East and South-South states will find him repulsive, being an ethnic jingoist is nothing but a dirty lie. I am Yoruba, and if GMB stands for election today, I’ll vote for him. And I know in person a couple of individuals from other parts of this country that hold this view. Yes, I know he is Hausa, and yes, I know he is Fulani. You may disagree with me on this, but this remains my conviction, until that time when a more credible person than him emerges. Ethnic chauvinism therefore becomes the last consideration when choosing my leader.

The second lie is that GMB is a religious fundamentalist and that as a Muslim, Christians in Nigeria will not vote for him. I need to confess here that the PDP, to an extent, has recorded some measure of success with this divisive tool. The reality however, is that there is nothing to suggest that if GMB becomes Nigeria’s president tomorrow, Christians will run out of the country. Nothing suggests or supports that. He might not be a Christian, but he possesses what we need in a genuine leader at this point in our national life.

Let us, even for a moment, assume that we – from the point of view of the Holy Scriptures, the Bible – subject GMB to a critical analysis and then come to the conclusion that he does not know God, that he is not born again, and that he is not a Christian; does that mean he is not qualified to be used by God for God’s purpose? I dare say that he is still qualified to be used by God to achieve His own purpose. I will expatiate on this point shortly.

You see, we need to understand that God does not employ human sentiments and religious bigotry in executing His own plans here on earth. And God is still actively busy in His world, whether one believes this or not. His standards are unique and sure in all circumstances. He loves Christians and non-Christians alike. His love does not discriminate. That is the truth of the Holy Scriptures.

It is unfortunate that those who should propagate this distinctive and distinguishing disposition of God – His love for all men, and help to deepen our peace in the nation, are the ones helping to fritter away what little harmony that the nation currently enjoys. It is not right to utilize cheap religiosity to hoodwink gullible and unsuspecting souls, and make slaves out of them.

Unfortunately, this is what those opposed to GMB’s ambition are currently doing; trying to portray GMB as a dangerous religious zealot, a hater of Christians, and a plague that should be avoided by those who profess Christianity. But this approach by the PDP – the wielding of religious swords to further divide a nation that is already on the precipice – is not only failing, it is equally falling apart.

In the Bible, when God led and dealt with the Israelites, the enterprise of leadership was a very important thing to Him, and He used several persons to bring about the realisation of His purpose per time. One of those used was the King called Cyrus, a man who had nothing to do with the Covenant God made with Israel. In the Book of Isaiah 45: 1-5 (GNB), we read:

Isa 45:1 The LORD has chosen Cyrus to be king. He has appointed him to conquer nations; he sends him to strip kings of their power; the LORD will open the gates of cities for him. To Cyrus the LORD says.

Isa 45:2 I myself will prepare your way, leveling mountains and hills. I will break down bronze gates and smash their iron bars.

Isa 45:3 I will give you treasures from dark, secret places; then you will know that I am the LORD and that the God of Israel has called you by name.

Isa 45:4 I appoint you to help my servant Israel, the people that I have chosen. I have given you great honor, although you do not know me. (Emphasis mine).

Isa 45:5 I am the LORD; there is no other god. I will give you the strength you need, although you do not know me. (Emphasis mine).

Please observe that in verses 4 and 5, God specifically mentioned that King Cyrus did not know Him; meaning that he was not an Israelite (and if we stretch this further, it would mean he was not a Christian). Yet, God, the Supreme One, made use of King Cyrus to achieve His predetermined aim. Now, has God told anyone that He is not interested in using GMB to halt our nation’s free fall into decay?

For the good of our country, it is important that we dismantle the mountains of lies being built by those employing ethnicity and religion as a discordant, and by extension, an election winning strategy. After that, it then becomes needful to look closely at the man GMB with a view to finding out what he really possesses which ranks him higher than other contestants.

The single greatest malady threatening to strangulate this nation is corruption. It is both the nucleus and the lifeblood of all other disorder imperiling us as a people, and casting us in the mould of an unserious nation in the eyes of the world. It is from corruption that all other obvious backward-pulling forces derive their strength. To simply say it the way it is, most of our leaders are barefaced thieves. They are totally undisguised in their business of stealing the nation to stupor.

As a result, politics has suddenly become a rather alluring undertaking for every Tom, Dick and Harry, not because of the desire to serve the people, but because it is now the most profitable venture in the nation. It is common knowledge that millions, and even billions, of naira is being stolen quite unashamedly by these crooks who the nation is unfortunate to have as leaders.

It is in his ability to wrestle the monster of corruption to the ground and pull out the nation from its destructive grip that GMB shines brighter than all his opponents, whether within his own political party, the APC, or in the ruling party, the PDP. That Buhari is honest, scrupulous, and totally trustworthy is beyond disputation. There are those who hold the view that GMB, having held several positions at the highest levels of government in the nation, cannot be divorced from the widespread venality that has become our lot; but the view remains a mere speculation.

All along, while his enemies and detractors mouth this, not a single shred of evidence has been brought forward to put the parsimoniously reliable general to shame. And come to think of it, if the PDP is in possession of any such substantiation, why would PDP not have it released? It would have at least put the tough politician to permanent political oblivion. In GMB, we are blessed with one man that we can look at, among many that are currently eyeing the presidency, and rest assured that our national till will not be broken.

In addition to his admirable credibility, GMB is equally a man of resolve; a man with firmness of purpose who eschews frivolity, superficiality and silliness. And such a man is the one we need at this time. Why? Because it will take a man possessing inner strength, as GMB does, to refocus our drifting brigantine. Just take a look at the Nigerian political space, and you will see a lot of talkers who have not the slightest idea about how the nation should run. Being credible therefore is one thing, possessing the unyielding, well-founded determination to do what is right and walk your talk is another thing.

Now, it is possible that some people, particularly those wishing to profit from their romance with the ruling party, still hold certain grudges against GMB for whatever sins they think he committed years ago. They are free to do so; it is their choice. They can continue to stare at the back while attempting to go forward. But what is sure is that those sins do not include being a thief; they do not include being given to fickleness when the demands of your office require that you be manly and reliable.

In recent time, listening to our current crop of leaders tells me that they are tired. Tired, not in the sense of not willing to “rule” any further, for they enjoy that; but tired in the sense of being wholly drained of ideas as to how to move the nation forward.

Nigeria is destined to be greater than what she currently represents; her leaders, over the years, have been her drawbacks. Electing GMB into office is certain to put the nation on the right tract. Let’s hope the APC gives him the much needed ticket.

Politics / Social Network And The 2015 Election by OAM(m): 7:48pm On Oct 19, 2014
Have you been tweeting about the 2015 election? If so, you’re part of the 15 percent of Nigerian adults who uses social media to discuss politics. So how is all of these online political activity affecting the 2015 presidential elections? let me reminds us that 2011 was called the “social media election”, with over 1.1 million tweets sent on election day… and that now, in Ekiti election, over 1.3 million tweets was sent every twenty minutes.

In Nigeria, young voters ages 18 to 34 make up 65% of the voting population. And over the past several election cycles, youth voting has been on the rise. Last Ekiti's last election showed a higher percentage of young-aged voters going to the polls to elect their next Governor than in any previous election.
Many campaign workers believes that the use of social media has played a significant role in enticing the young demographic to go to the polls. With the constant postings of political jargon, photos, and comments, political operatives from both parties are looking for the best way to hold the young voter’s attention.

For the 2015 election, it will be a daunting task for political consultants to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to constantly changing popular social media sites. If they don’t, they could easily appear “lame” or “out of touch”

It shouldn't be difficult to predict what social media monitoring and data mining will look like for the 2015 election and beyond. Just consider where we, as individuals, are already getting most of our information. We probably check Twitter first thing in the morning to see what news is breaking. Then maybe we log onto Facebook and other social media to see what our friends and trusted acquaintances are commenting on. And of course, we’re doing most of this on our smartphones or tablets.

I hear people say social media doesn't win an election, i also hear that social media is over hyped in-respect to an election, what a dumb assumption it is. Social Media is actually a real game changer during elections particularly given the viral nature of real time information available on social media channels. The era of using touts to influence an election are gone, the knowledge era and digital age has come. The New political party (APC), have seemingly caught on to the power of social media in their electoral campaigning. The APC's Facebook page has received more ‘likes’ or followers than that of any other opposition political parties.

The need for the PDP's to up its social media drive is of utmost importance. Hence its important for the presidency to reignite its social media presence. The APC's are referred as the social media lord in Nigeria, the most savvy political party in Nigeria. And it has given the party a bigger leverage on National issues ahead of the present Government. The APC's Governors has the highest followers on Twitter ahead of all the PDP's Governors. Speaking about how social media has gone against the present Government overtime is a not a new thing, here is the truth; Jonathan's falling out of favour with his social media friends is as a result of his Special Adviser's inability to engage the youth properly. Social media as a platform is not partisan, you don't need to be proud on social media cause the platform doesn't care about your position or what you earn. It would be shocking to know that PDP'S social media presence took a new dimension immediately Fani Kayode joined the PDP. And i believe he is lecturing Okupe, Abati and the Omonikri the need to humble and engage on social media.

The growing presence and popularity of political parties and various political figures on social media is evidence that political parties are “approaching and speaking to the youth of Nigeria on their level”. what impact will a social media following have on the outcome of the election? Is it possible that followers will translate into votes? some doesn't think so. “A couple of millions people in the context of about 130 million adults is really a drop in the ocean”. However, I advise political parties to make use of social media to engage with voters and using this alternative public sphere to make campaigns more effective and using social a youth-targeted campaign to encourage Nigerians to vote in ways it never has before.

I call the 2015 election “voting for a personality” and social media is the map to Aso Rock. All candidates deserves the spot but, the difference is how you convince the 21 percent on social media.

We can achieve a violence free election and i ask you to join me in getting the best of election ever.

What's different from the Nigerian men of yesterday to that of today's men? A lot hasn't really changed in a way but the new men has changed the way things are.

In the world of relationships, it's intriguing to see how different and unique Nigerian men are from Nigerian women. And I say this without an apology to the ladies out there "No offense". If you say Nigerian ladies now makes better grades to the men, I statistically agree with you ladies out there but, if you say you are more hardworking and more sincere to the men, I not only disagree but I say keep quite. Now that you angry with my assertions and you just can't wait to express your anger thereby calling me sexist, I would love you to be open minded and finish reading this piece.

Let me start with the world "SEX" I prefer starting with it cause all other points rest broadly on it. Nigerian girls think all we men want is sex, they think we can empty our bank accounts, throw our dreams and all that matters to us for an hour pleasure "I know some might be five minutes or even two hours pleasures",just want to carry all men along"lol". They think all we ever want is sex, they think they can please us with sex; too bad I must say. The Nigerian men of today loves having sex, no doubt about it but you get it all wrong if you ladies think you can leverage on it with this era. The men of today see sex as a cheap commodity and they know how to price it well. In fact, the men of today see sex as a liability that cannot be ignored, let's say we have the capacity to accommodate the liability.

The next stage is beauty. The fact that you are beautiful doesn't mean that you can manipulate men, do them as you please, the men of this age are not much interested in beauty as it were those days, all the want and admire now is brain and curves, though beauty is an added advantage. So, ladies please throw the idea of fine girl thingy to River Benue.

The next in line is greed. Nigerian girls are so greedy without them even knowing that they are, it's only here you see a girl using an Iphone 4x, bold5, Q10, Samsung galaxy and even Techno self. They don't sell and they don't give out. My fellow men go out one or two expensive phones like me, give out old ones or sell it cheap to close friends. How about those that owns cars and work? They even use the mechanic's head to get free repairs and servicing, when you mistakenly hit their cars from behind, then you know what it's like! Even when you choose to repair it for them, they tell you to take it directly to the manufactures where you get billed like hell. Imagine a lady that works telling you at the end of the month to come and give her money for up keep!!! What's the rationale? I swear I don't get it. Don't get it wrong on this, we men love to help when we have the means so, don't get it missed up thinking we are greedy when we don't have the means to help.

Men of this age no longer steal to please a lady except our old bloody politicians that we can't categories as men of this age. We no longer sell our properties to get you your greedy heart desires. We no longer fall for deception by you ladies like men of yesterday did, now we are steps ahead of your games and antics.

Finally, let's talk about the most sensitive " Faithfulness" I hear a lady saying" let me see what this sexist would say on this", well you right to think so in a way cause both men and ladies are guilty of this. However, I know where we men of today stand when it comes to faithfulness. The real questions here is; are men unfaithful with their cars? Money? Buildings? Or clothes? You ladies know the answer is a big NO. You accuse us of faking our body to another lady, so why don't you find out why we do such instead of generAlizing the word "Faithfulness".

Men of this age are unfaithful to ladies that don't want to change, if he says you not good in bed, work on it. If he says he wants some styles, learnt it and do it to him. And if he says you should go clubbing with him, please tag along and go not minding if your a Deeper Life.

NOTE: If you are that lady that makes sex cheap, making your body available for my great men of this age to be unfaithful to their real lady"Olosho things", am deeply sorry for your end cause men Of this age knows an Olosho when they see one. We can smell them from afar.

Advice: ladies if you have a Nigerian guy right now, then you have the most sort after thing all to you for free, please take advantage of it by ensuring you lose him. Take the initiative to love him more, encourage and believe in him. If he is local in your thinking, then make him a global personality.

Cheers people
