izzou: Can you show me the security challenges we were having in 2015, and how we have improved on it in 2022?
I think that's the best way to rate his architecture Pre-2015, Nigeria Army were seriously under-armed. Bokoharam insurgents became increasingly aggressive and began to seize large areas in northeastern Nigeria. The violence escalated dramatically in 2014 and Boko Haram drastically expanded its territories. The insurgents were driven back during the 2015 West African offensive by a Nigeria-led coalition of African and Western countries, forcing the Islamists to retreat into Sambisa Forest and bases at Lake Chad..... thanks to Buhari Administration. Buhari Administration has rolled out the most significant response to Nigeria’s multifaceted security challenges, since 1999. Nigeria’s Law Enforcement Agencies have significantly scaled up their footprint across the country – Operation Whirl Stroke in the North Central, Operation Ex-Swift Response in border areas, several new Forward Operating Bases, Quick Response Wings, Commando Training Schools, and so on, and deployments of Special Forces. Increased Investments in Arms and Weapons: Government to Government military deals with the Governments of the US, China, Russia, Pakistan, and so on have helped eliminate expensive and opaque middlemen. In April 2020, a first batch of 17 military vehicles (VT-4 main battle tanks, ST-1 wheeled tank destroyers, self-propelled howitzers etc) arrived from China, for the fight against Boko Haram. The Nigerian Air Force has acquired more than 30 brand new aircraft since President Buhari assumed office in 2015, including 12 Super Tucano Jets from the United States Government and 3 JF 17 from Pakistan. The NAF is also locally re-activating several previously unserviceable planes. The fleet renewal efforts of the Nigerian Navy under the Buhari administration have led to the procurement of more than 300 platforms of various types and mix, including 267 flat bottomed, assault, rigid hull, survey, riverine patrol and whaler boats, 25 fast attack craft, seaward defence boats and inshore patrol craft. In addition, 1 survey ship, 1 offshore patrol vessel, 1 landing ship tank and 1 AW 139 Leonardo helicopter, and just of recent NNS Lana and NNS Kada. |

izzou: Lagos is the only port functioning optimally in Nigeria. The FG invests heavily in our waterways, with the state government too
They also have partnerships with the Ghanaian Navy and Benenoise navy too in patrolling and joint operations.
No other port has that privilege, and no shipping line would want to sail to an area where security is light You're right sha. |

izzou: If they like, they should build seaports in every state in the SE/SS, no single ship is going to berth there.
Do you know the level of insecurity and piracy on our waterways?
Do you know Onne is working, yet only very few vessels would agree to go there?. If its not Apapa, no shipping company would listen to you
I am giving you field info, and not what you read online. That Akwa Ibom own would just be a white elephant project. Na still Apapa and Lekki gk fit work What makes Lagos Ports safe? Can't the same be done to secure other Ports? |

They are warning him to focus on the rest days of the Week and let them keep enjoying their Monday sit-at-home in peace. |

Anambrans prefer Obiano type of Leaders or a PO type that would rather save instead of spending on infrastructural developments. |

larride: Akwa Ibom is building their own deep sea port also.
Other states are making effort to develop their state, some are waiting for the FG to come spoon fed them. Money wasted on the Airport should have been used to develop Onitsha Port. I repeat, give Anambra to Tinubu or any of his Boys and see Wonders. Even Aregbe would transform Onitsha to Dubai in 8 years. Anambra State have huge potentials, but they need an astute Leader like Tinubu to manage it. I hope and pray Soludo succeed and transform the State, coz it will help to decongest Lagos. |

At worse they can partner with FG and private Firms to rebuild the Port. Give Anambra to Tinubu and see the Port becomes point of Imports and Exports for the Region. |

afrodoc2: Post the evidence that 70% of homes in Lagos have boreholes.
1) If you do not then your claim is likely false and the people are suffering due to lack of access to potable water.
2) If you do then it is an indictment on the state government cos the boreholes became necessary only after the government failed in its responsibility to the people.
You see my friend, you have entered what is called a quagmire. Make dem go house to house for Lagos go find out nau. |

donjazet: Thanks for the love brother.
But this then brings us the basis of the fact of governance.
I want to believe we both wish for the best for Nigeria. Other people outside this country who support Tinubu may do this out of tribal sentiment.
But we both wish for the best for our country.
You believe that Tinubu governed soo well in Lagos and laid a good blueprint for others to follow.
To which I tell you, that anyone who gets the keys of a mega city like Lagos is bound to have a visible key of achievement because of the presence of vast resources ALREADY AVAILABLE.
You are making it look like Lagos was a total impoverished and disaster zone before 1999 and this man swooped in and revitalized all aspects of the city, when truly, if you look deeper, all indices indicate that the state, while growing in physical infrastructure is decaying in standard of living.
The average lifespan index in Lagos has fallen. The average HDI of Lagos is falling. Insecurity in Lagos is worse than that of competing megalopolis in Africa like Cairo and Johannesburg.
You are seeing the good and being blind to the bad. Can you prove it? |
