As Afrodoc once said, the only thing that gets dribbled more than Fred is a tree. Mctominay provides him cover to rush into those challenges without getting very exposed

The protection from the midfield isn't good enough however it can be improved upon and for me, McTom is a good option as he is stronger than Fred and faster than Matic. If Pogba plays a disciplined game like he did vs Newcastle, then the issue of McTom being a poor passers of the ball or that he doesn't show up for a pass will be less of an issue...

Were they (Pogba and Matic) bullied or dominated by Maxim and Almiron?

All the decent chances they created started from the midfield including their goal. Immediately after that, almiron ran riot again by dribbling all our midfielders that almost lead to a goal.

You don’t need to defend anything because it’s not about stanship; rather the reality visible to the blind. We have slow midfielders and we will suffer against better opponents.

We hardly win second balls in matches now. Mctominay dey try for that side.

Newcastle played defensively and relied on Maxim and Almiron for Counter..... ONLY! Regardless of whomever play in the Midfield, nothing gonna change.

This is not about stanship ish, but being objective with Criticism.

Against Wolves, it wasn't Matic that paired Pogba but Fred (actively mobile, yet bullied).
