"I already knew it. You guys ask, I respond. I already knew it was a big job and I have a long way to go. It is really important to win away and even in the league, we know that it is really tough to win away in the Premier League. "We are Manchester United and we have to improve on that but also in winning at home, because we lost the last game. "It is really important to go to the next stage to win tomorrow because of all of that. It is really important for us as a club, as a team, in this moment that if you pass to the next stage without play-off you take two games from our schedule and that is massive. For some teams it is nothing but for us it is really important. But we are facing a team that maybe a lot of people in England don't know the name of but they are unbeaten at home. "In Europe they are very strong they run a lot and we cannot play the game one v one in all of the pitch like they want, we have to have possession, we have to control transitions and we have to be very good in second phases, like after crosses, then next cross. We have to improve in these details. "We have to be so much better in set-pieces and we have to win it. It is so important that we win but not just win but [also] to play well. Tomorrow is going to be really really tough. Ty is prepared for that and he is going to play so we are really prepared for the game." - Rúben Amorim |
"I really don't know [movement in January] , there is a lot at stake in this moment, we have a lot to do. A lot of games and we don't have time to train. "The players have contracts and we have to see them with a new coach, a new idea. Sometimes I have one idea in one week and sometimes I have another idea in the second week. We have to see what happens. "The game are so close during the opening of the window in January, so I really don't know and I'm just focused on improving the team. I cannot think so much further than the next game. "Like any other team when the window is open we can do something but in this moment, our focus is to win games and we have to have this feeling of winning, and we have to start tomorrow." - Rúben Amorim |
"We want to take this club to winning the Premier League and to be an elite club like this club should be. In this way we have to make changes because of the context [vision for the club], I don't know. "You can change the coach because you do not have the results, so you can have a vision. Sometimes you make a slight change in direction too see the same goal, so this could happen in football and we are focussed on winning the Premier League. That is the main goal of this club." - Rúben Amorim |
"I'm really focused on my players and understanding my players, I think that was one of the problems of this club. We have to focus on what we have, the Academy and also to have the clear profile when you get the players. It is a lot of details you have to manage. "Every detail counts. You have to be very clear in the profiles, arrange all the processes and then go to that phase of buying and selling. We have, like Ty [Malacia], international players that are good players and we need our time to teach our idea, then we will see. "This is a massive club, we have to improve as a team. We have to arrange a lot of things in our club before just in buying and selling players. Let's focus on improving our players, improving our Academy and then we will see." - Rúben Amorim |
"I think against Nottingham [Forest] we should pass the ball a little bit quicker, so it is with safety but a little bit more quicker when everything is blocked. For me the most important point is that every player should be in the good position to start when we play. "We were controlling the game and we started the second half very well and if you remember one play, Leny Yoro makes a one-two, jumps and then makes a bad pass. He [gives them] a counter attack and then, a goal. "We have to continue to play in the same way but with a low block. It is this kind of details and you have to play the ball by preparing to lose the ball sometimes. These kind of points are really important in our team because in the past, and still, in this moment you can see a lot of moments like this. "I can remember just from the top of my head, the game against Liverpool, all the goals were mostly like that and we are doing work on that. You see the same thing last week so we are trying to improve with the ball but also the way when you can lose the ball, you are covering our own goal." - Rúben Amorim |
"I as a coach I cannot focus on just that. The way we can see in the future, titles or something. Our goal is to win our Premier League. That is our goal. "Of course you can do the math and you can understand that for a big club like us to be in the Champions League is so important. You can see and look at the table that from the Europa League, maybe it is easier. "You can then perhaps take this information for this context but I am not focused on that and our goal is to win the Premier League, not just to go to the Champions League. "To go [to] the Champions League is an important point to win the Premier League, that is really clear. But for me, the most important thing is to win and to see something different in the team in every game." - Rúben Amorim |
"I have felt, since day one, the support from everybody so one person [Ashworth] leaving doesn't change nothing. Of course it is a bad situation like I said because you are talking about a human being, a professional that supports us as a team. I think the most important thing is that the vision is really clear and that vision does not change only because one person leaves." - Rúben Amorim |
Internally, Manchester United agree that over half of the players in the squad are serious candidates for sale in the winter or summer if good offers come in. Ruben Amorim is to be given the opportunity to make a rebuild, which will require urgent sales. Currently, players considered unsellable include Diallo, Mainoo, Mazraoui, De Ligt, Yoro, Onana, and 2-3 other key players. - Florian Plettenberg |
Manchester United are in active talks with Cerro Porteno for 17 year old left back Diego León as talent for the future. Similar to Sekou Koné deal last summer, Man Utd keep looking at talents from abroad and $4m deal is being discussed also with León’s agents. - Fabrizio Romano |
Trevor012: ![]() I double agree! |
Manchester United would sell Marcus Rashford at the latest by the summer and would already be open to top offers in the winter. The club acknowledge his development under Ruben Amorim but consider him definitely not unsellable. One reason why a sale is being discussed: if he were to leave the club due to his very high salary, it would free up critical points in the complicated Financial Fair Play system, which, in turn, would give the Red Devils more room to maneuver in the transfer market. 27 y/o with a contract until 2028. - Florian Plettenberg |
Jason Wilcox was appointed at the request of Berrada. INEOS have been incredibly impressed with the work of Jason Wilcox. Jason Wilcox wanted to sack Ten Hag after the end of the season. Ashworth wanted to give Ten Hag more time. |
afrodoc2:.....yeah! They won't replace him. |
Rio Ferdinand: "They were ruthless with [sacking] staff that had been there for years and I hope they are as ruthless with the sh*t players that are there. The ones that have been there for a long time or are not good enough. THROW them out." |
Sir Jim Ratcliffe: "Our antenna wasn’t perfect at United and we’ve made one or two errors, but they’re a lot better than they would have been than if we’d not done Nice and Lausanne. There is major change to come to achieve elite status. If you shy away from the difficult decisions, nothing much is going to change." |
Amorim shouldn't force himself playing Bruno at all costs. Amad is doing well as RWB but we need him more as RAM. If Bruno can't be dropped, Àmorim should stick him to LAM Position while Amad plays the other side. Let Mazraoui plays RWB while stûpid Dalot keeps LWB until Malacia gains full fitness. Back trio should be Licha, Maguire and Leny. De Ligt ain't convincing so far, let him enjoy bench role till he regains his football sense and confidence. Ugarte and Mainoo should be allowed to build strong partnership. |
Trevor012:I agree! |
Sir Jim Ratcliffe: “Manchester United must have the best recruitment in the world. “You can't just flick a light switch and sort out recruitment. It's all about people and we need to find the right ones”. |
![]() Desert Knight coming back to the top by end of this game week. |
nitrogen:We must face the reality whether we like it or not. When RR was wailing over bunch of dólts we paraded as players, we didn’t listen - only for ZeroHag to add more dólts as well as replaced some dólts with new set of dólts. These dólts can't dribble even a cone. They can't shield ball, run like professional players, pass and connect professionally on the pitch except hoping on God to get them lucky wins. Amorim ain't gonna back down, I like his stubbornness and apparently ain't gonna give in to the fuckin dólts. We know the season is gone, no need to feel emotional cos of the pre-season matches. |
![]() ......welldone Amorim. Solidly behind you and we are damn sure you are on the right path to greatness. Next Match.......here we come. |
patrickmuf: ![]() .....massive clearout awaits the club in the summer. Rashford, Maguire, Evans, Shaw, Casemiro and Eriksen are playing their last season at the club. |
patrickmuf:.....don't worry, both Dalot and Garnacho are doing their final trial today. Mazraoui will take over LWB soon while Mount likely to replace Garnacho if he fails to grab this last chance. |
......something is wrong with Pep or perhaps Man City. |
"I know we get criticism in the press but we do need to challenge the cost of running this club because what I want to be free for us to do is buy really good footballers, not spend so much of the money on infrastructure. "We can't run a business at a loss, which is where United have been in the last couple of years. If you are losing money you have to borrow from the bank to pay for the losses. Eventually that becomes unsustainable." - Sir Jim Ratcliffe |
"Manchester United has become mediocre. It is supposed to be one of the best football clubs in the world. "We have to make some difficult and unpopular decisions. If you shy away from the difficult decisions, then nothing much is going to change." - Sir Jim Ratcliffe |
Ruben Amorim:"We are a massive club but not a massive team and we know it. I think that is clear". "It's not a problem to say it. We want to improve in a different moment from Arsenal but you can see it during the game". |
TrebleChamp:Amorim:"It’s impossible to win the Premier League without a team that fights for every moment, runs back, runs forward". |
Ruben Amorim: "Even with the best starting XI on the planet, without running they will not win nothing. So that is very clear. If we want to win the Premier League we have to run like mad dogs. If not, we are not going to." |

![]() ....honestly there is nothing to feel bad about. We lost to Stoke City 2.0 last night. We are still rebuilding the dilapidated structures left behind ZeroHag hence it ain't gonna take shape after few weeks except its a Hut we are rebuilding. Thank you Amorim, we are solidly behind you. Keep on with wonderful jobs! |
