I love this
Pedro and William will leave the club after their contract ends Shekpites sha. So you're already assumed Timo gonna be a Hit right from the first Minute?! Is he signed to play on the Wing?! What happens to Pulisic?! |

Ravioli: There's concrete interest from Man Utd to sign Kai Havertz.. Sancho is spot on.. Negotiations on going. He's hopefully gonna be a good Addition, perhaps a Replacement for Matic. |

odizeey: They don buy two guys, based on agreement. Omo we gats up game o. Teams dey step up. Why do United need to buy?! United shouldn't be competing in the Transfer Market for the sake of it, rather filling up the right Positions. What United need is clear to Everyone. A RW, and Board is working on Sancho. What other Positions United need to reinforce?! We've got Henderson fully ready to be the No. 1. De Gea ain't tired of manning the Posts, and Romero is still challenging. RBs: AWB, Dalot LBs: Shaw, Williams. CBs: Bailly, Maguire, Lindelöf, Tuanzebe, Jones. DF: McTom, Fred, TFM, Garner, Matic. AMs?! Pogba, Bruno, Lingard, Mata, Andreas, Gomez. RWs: ?! LWs: Rashford, James, Chong. ST: Martial, Greenwood, Ighalo. James and Chong play better on the left Wing than right. Though Chong should be able to play well on the RW, but he's gonna be better off as a Deputy. |

afrodoc: Not really that unpopular. The only young player i can think of that I would swap Greenwood for right now without hesitating is Killa Mbappe. Exactly. I am 100% sure Greenwood gonna turn out good. I have the same feeling that Ole believes in him. Honestly, ighalo Loan's Renewal is a good Call. Instead of signing a younger Striker, United should rather hope Greenwood becomes a World-beater. |

afrodoc2: During Yekini’s prime years it was not easy for African strikers to get opportunities in big clubs in Europe. Also the overlap in careers was minimal as Yekini was almost 13 years older.
Let’s not forget also that Yekini ( like Owubokiri) was once top scorer in the Portuguese league (so not so local a champion).
Top scorer in an African Nations Cup
Top scorer in a European league
First Nigerian to win African player of the year
First Nigerian World Cup scorer
All time top scorer for the National Team
3rd highest scorer all time in Nations Cups with 13 (Kanu lowest scorer with ZERO).
The guy’s argument has no merit. God of Skimpledawg shall bless you forever Doc. Yekini would definitely shine in any Team or League. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Oasis007(m): 3:28pm On Jun 04, 2020 |
nihilistjnr: Yekini was a decent striker but never played top flight football in a top league for any significant length of time.
Kanu's career had some overlap with Yekini's timing wise, but one was playing at a level higher than the other at club level.
So one could argue that yekini was a local champion (by local I mean country wise)
I was only evaluating that argument on its merit, not saying that I necessarily agree with it.
Kanu can't top strike so he will have to be squeezed in at 10.
I feel Kanu must make the team ahead of Mikel sha 100%.
But I also agree that Yekini must be there. Case closed. You've sealed it for me, coz Kanu is better off as an attacking Midfielder than a Striker. In every sense, modern Epoch or not, I'll forever pick Yekini over Kanu as a Striker. |
