OGS: “I will have to help [Alexis]. I’ve just answered a question here that you can’t spoon feed them. They’ve got to come in and grab their chances and Alexis is quality and he showed it in Copa America. Then he got his injury. "I don’t think it’s too bad, so I’m hoping he will be available for maybe Kristiansund or AC Milan, so he will at least get some football before the season starts. “The way we hope we are going to play, it doesn’t have to be a 6ft4 striker, so Alexis can be part of that forward line. “At the moment, yes I am [planning for him to be here at the start of the season]." |
OGS: "I wanted Aaron and Dan James. They were very high targets. Aaron was a top target. "We can’t expect Dan to be David Beckham or Ryan Giggs straightaway, but he will be a top player. He’s not a £70million player, no, but he’ll be worth it.” |
OGS: “Jimmy [James Garner] is young, he's very young - only 18 - so you can’t expect too much from him, but you can see he is going to be a top player. “Andreas I expect a lot more from, Scotty I expect a lot more from. Those two between them had maybe 15, 20 starts last season. You expect them to have at least 20 each this season maybe even more. That’s maybe two players into one that can replace Ander.” |
OGS: “From the talks I’ve had with many managers and coaches from my generation, when we played, I think it’s a general society thing that there are less Robbos and (Roy) Keanos around. "It’s the same in Norway. We’re all too comfortable. Life is so comfortable. It’s easy now when you’re an academy player - you make so much money. ‘Well I’ve made it’. And the parents live through their kids. I think that’s a general society thing. "I admired Robbo, I’ve heard Gary (Neville), Becks (David Beckham) all of them talk about Robbo. I played with Keano and I think any manager in the world would say they would love to him - one who is that type of leader. "Look at City with (Vincent) Kompany. Who knows what will happen? "Because he was a fantastic human being, player and leader, so someone else has to step up. And someone else has to step up for us.” |
OGS: “I think we have got to focus on ourselves. I don't think I can look at Liverpool or City and think, 'They are doing it this way.' We have got to focus on us, and I believe in these players. They have shown me what they are capable of. "They have also shown me some negative sides, which we have got to work on - better habits, get consistency in training, which will get consistency in the games and results. "So you look at those two clubs, (Jurgen) Klopp and Pep (Guardiola), and as I said about Jose and Luis - I have no problem saying good things about people. They are good coaches, good managers, and we have to find our own way. "We can't do it their way. We have to focus on what is going on at this club.” |
OGS: “I think that it'll be a chance for some of the young ones [to win Europa League], definitely. Then again, it's a great chance of qualifying for the Champions League for next season, so I think you'll see quite a few of the young ones you've seen already. "They are exciting and we need to blood them in the right tournament and it depends on who you play, it depends on the stage of the tournament, group stages. Every weekend is a possibility, you can't plan three months down the line.” |
OGS: “I would like to be an optimist and I am always an optimist and let’s see how we start off and how close we get this season. “A successful season is if we win a trophy at this club. That’s a good season. You have got to aim for trophies. You want to say Premier League, you want to say Europa League, FA Cup, League Cup, maybe in that order. “I am not going to say that we can’t, but it’s not what we expect straight away. But these players, if we get the consistency and get the margins, hopefully we can get David (De Gea) over the line and signed, and we might be contenders, who knows?” |
OGS: ".....there are players here that are coming into pre-season as well that are like, ‘I might just have a look at him again because if he has changed as I think he has and it looks like he has, he might have a career here.'" |
OGS: “We have been linked with so many players. I think that Man United sometimes, because of the wealth maybe, we have had to pay more, a bigger premium to get players in and that’s just the world we live in. And we have taken our time, and we are not going to over pay, but we have to get the right people in, the right players.” |
OGS: “You've got opposition that wants to play as well. But we have a clear aim and we want to look a certain way. We know it's going to take time. “It might not be a transformation like 'Wow, that's a new team,' but I think most of us saw the intention on Saturday (against Perth Glory). We want to play on the front foot, but you can't do that for 90 minutes in 38 league games. That's hard in the Premier League.” |
Solskjær: “When we get Paul [Pogba] playing as he did when I came in, and if we get him playing like that again, he’ll even win you lot [the media] over as well.” - MIRROR |
OGS: Solskjær: "That [Lingard holiday video] has been dealt with internally. I am old school, old fashioned, quite big on discipline. I am quite big on self-discipline and I can't spoon feed all these players. They have got to do it themselves." |
Solksjaer: "You've got to be patient. Building a team or rebuilding a squad takes time. I am not going to ask for too much time because as manager you're also under pressure straightaway, maybe not for results but the way we want to play football. "I hope with the way we approach games, the fans will see what we're trying to do and the results will come. I definitely still regard it as an honour and privilege to do this job. I can't talk about how others view management but for me it is about consistency and the long term. "You have to have short-term gains and results but there is no chance this is going to be about anything other than improving the club. We want to make steps so we are closer to getting to the top, where we believe we belong. - BBC |
Solksjaer on Sir Alex: "I worked for him for 14 and a half years - 11 as a player, three and a half as a coach. I spent the biggest part of my football career under him. "It's natural that I've learned from him. Of course, I speak to him after games. I go up to his lounge. But loads of things have been said which are not true. He's been to the training ground twice since I've been there. "We send texts to each other. I might ask him for something. He asks me for a few favours. It's great but he's at a different stage of his life now." - BBC |
Solksjaer on Transfer: "There won't be any players here I don't want. No. We are still looking at one or two options but it depends on outgoings. It might be more because if suddenly two or three go, then you have to replace players." - BBC |
Solksjaer: "That gives me great belief because we know what he's [Alexis] capable of. We have to find a way - me with Alexis, with the team - because there's a top player there. If we get him firing, he can get us 20 goals easily. "You saw it in the Copa America. The consistency hasn't been there because he's had some injuries, you just hope that he's going to get the consistency back into his game." - BBC |
Solksjaer: "Paul is a fantastic player and a fantastic human being. He has always been a great professional. When I was at Molde, I said, 'if he's in your squad, you'd build a team around him'. I would say the same now. Manchester United fans know their football. "We know Paul has been criticised by a few but he's loved by loads more. You know, it's the best feeling you can have to be at this club when we're successful. The ones that might want to leave now haven't been here when it's been successful. Hopefully they want to be part of that. I want to be part of it." - BBC |
Solksjaer: "That is what you sign up for [standard off the pitch] at this club. You are always under the spotlight. I am a big believer in self-discipline and discipline within the group. I would never have made it as a footballer if I didn't have that discipline and made the most out of my talent." - BBC |
Solksjaer: "We talked about [with the Players] what is required, the standards we have to live up to every single day. The little margins that get you wins. The little tactical tweaks. "The first couple of weeks have been encouraging. Of course, you always expect people to come in for the first couple of weeks with fresh energy and focus. We have been pushing the limits. "They have not moaned - maybe that is a bad thing. Maybe we have not worked them enough. But I think we have worked enough so we are fitter and more robust when the season starts. The more sessions you miss out on, the further behind you get." - BBC |
Solksjaer: We have to aim for further up than fourth. I would rather be an optimist and be wrong than a pessimist and be right. I am not used to us being fifth or sixth but that is where we are at. That is the size of the challenge. I love that challenge. We have to work with the players, sign the right types and gradually make our way to the challenging line. Our players do have quality. They do have a chance. We just need consistency. We have to keep working every single day and not take our eyes off the target. Everyone gets off line at some point but you can't let it drift too far because then you won't get to the overall goal. - BBC |
Solskjær: "There won't be any players here that I don't want in my group, no." - Sky Sports |
Solskjær: "He [Greenwood] finds space naturally. He'll always end up with chances. He'll score goals this year, I am 100% sure of that." - BBC |
Solskjær: "He's [Greenwood] a natural finisher, a natural footballer. Right-footed, left-footed. I don't think he knows if he's more predominant on his right or his left. He takes penalties with both feet and free-kicks with both feet." - BBC |
Phil Jones has been touted as a potential makeweight in a deal for Harry Maguire. - Telegraph |
Inter Milan are just days away from signing Romelu Lukaku. Inter have already told the player that they will spend €80m including bonuses to sign him, and will meet #mufc's demands at the request of Antonio Conte. - AS |
Solskjær: “I can give him [Pogba] a new challenge - I’ve not been upset by anything he’s said, because we’ve had many conversations and I know exactly what Paul is thinking." |
Mukina2...... Kindly give me H2H code as well pls. Thanks. |
Some Dude are hell-bent to attack OGS at any given Opportunity. He has changed the training intensities and styles. He's working on Players' fitness - mentally and physically..... Yet we ain't seeing anything positive so far?! It was he has no game plan or tactics; however, last Match - we saw a glimpse of what the Team is likely to look like in the coming Season. Some are holding their "I told you so" Cards and couldn't wait to dish it out at all cost regardless to the Situation at hand. Is he at fault for the high figures selling Clubs are quoting on their targeted Players?! Is he the one to approve figures for the purchase of new Players? Seem we are expecting him wailing and condemning his Employers and Players?!
