funlord: ![]() The Dude is on fire..... but his/her Rage is making him/her burning like a Candle. He's/she's gonna be exhausted soon. I hope the Dude won't mind Nunu milk - the natural Kind I mean. |
![]() It's getting comical.....! But someone needs to advise the Dude to stop posting Noise. What kind of Lecturers is he/she actually?! How does expect his/her Students to cope with his/her Lectures or comprehend his/her Notes?! |
BlueAngel444: ![]() You really deserve more than some Respect Mr. Lecturer! |
Ibime: If that's gonna win us the Champions League as well as the EPL - then it's ain't a bad Tactics. |
![]() ..... and Fellaini stays! I wish him best in the coming Season, and I hope he proves his Doubters wrong! |
Lineup
|
If JM intends to play 4 - 3 - 3 Formation in the coming Season, then I think the Signing of Matic won't be a bad Decision. Having him plays as a DM with Pogba as a LMF and Herrera as a RMF ain't gonna be a bad Combo. But as Afrodoc2 pointed out, we can't have him and Fellaini in the same Team - meaning the latter must be sold as soon as possible. |
MATIC DETAIL We understand the fee for Nemanja Matic's move to Manchester United will be around £40m. Sky sources: Chelsea are letting him join United as a goodwill gesture because of his contribution to two titles in three years. They would have preferred to sell him to Juventus, but the Serb wants to go to United. Working again with Jose Mourinho again was a big factor in his decision. Matic has been training at Cobham and if all goes to plan he could be in United squad for Super Cup game v Real Madrid on August 8. |
BREAKING NEWS Sky Sources: Manchester United are close to signing midfielder Nemanja Matic from Chelsea. The deal should be done in the next few days after Juventus gave up on signing the 28-year-old. Our colleagues in Italy are reporting Juventus are now targeting PSG’s Blaise Matuidi, Sevilla’s and Steven N’Zonzi. |
![]() We don't want Fellaini in the Team, yet it's unwise to sell him now?! I will rather hope Perreira, Tuanzebe, McTominay, Mensah are considered and given chances than retaining Fellaini in the Team. |
elampiro: ![]() The best Transfer News so far! I hope it happens in few Days time. Ed Woodward shouldn't consult JM or think twice before sanctioning the Deal. Any Amount they offer is good, even for Free - it won't be a bad Call. |
^^^^^^^^ ![]() United ain't ready to compete financially in this Transfers Market. If City could easily get their Targets, why ain't we?! |
I really do not know why we ain't biding for Mahrez. I think he can help the Team to solve the RW Problem. £40m can get him, and if JM is afraid of African Players leaving the Club to play AFCON in the middle of the Season, I believe the Problem is solved already. |
"If I had to buy one striker I would go to [Harry] Kane. He is a complete striker. He is strong physically, with the ball, without the ball, he fights and he's strong in the air and acrobatic on the right and the left. "He's a complete player. He's one of the top strikers in the world. If you go to buy Kane now it would be at least £100m." "If you want Walker, you know that Walker is expensive. We tried to buy Walker. Honestly, I think now every single player is expensive. For you to even enquire about one player, he is expensive." - Antonio Conte --------------------------------------------------- He prefers Kane but he gets Morata. He wanted Walker but ends up with Rudiger. This is simply to tell that it's hard to get what you actually need in this Transfers Window. Man City are the luckiest, they get the Money, spent it on their Targets and gradually becoming one of the finest Teams in Europe. |
"We spent big money on a striker because, with strikers, you either spend or you don't get. "And we spent because of what happened to Zlatan and we cannot allow ourselves to be without an important, strong striker for the first six months of the season." - Jose Mourinho I think JM wants Zlatan back in the Team, and likely to resign him in January. |
funlord:The aforementioned Players flourish at LW but flop at RW except Mata. what United really need is LW not RW as DopeJemi said! |
metodman: ![]() Thank God you ain't ettling to come back and say; didn't I tell you?! Nice one Bro, I accept your Points too. |
metodman:JM has the final say. He's the one in charge. He's seeing these Players on daily Basis, assessing their Abilities during Training Sessions, and knows their Limits in a competitive Match. JM asked for four Signings - A CB, DM, Winger, and a Striker. He didn't ask for a RB nor a LB, if he's not contented with Players that play the Positions for the Team at the moment, he would have asked for Replacements. Fitness, Dedication and Consistency are all we need from the United Players this coming Season, coz they are good enough to challenge in all Fronts. |
metodman: ![]() How did Monaco win Ligue 1?! How many Stars were at the Club last Season?! But Today majority of their Players become Stars. My Point is; if we can get Stars to sign, then we should make them. With Dedication and Consistency..... the so rated below average Players could become World Class Players. |
metodman: ![]() Chill Bro! The Season ain't gonna be boring..... and I can assure JM plans to play real attacking Footie this coming Season. It's evident in all the Matches played bar the Barcelona Match which is understandable. So far - Mkhitaryan rarely played on the Wing, same as Mata, thus I think JM is willing to use the right Player for the right Position. Also, JM is craving for a balance Team, clamoring for the Signings of two more Players, [or at worse one] a DM and a Winger. Hence, seems JM is satisfied with the RBs and LBs at his Disposal presently, the Reason he's not demanding new Players for the Positions. We need to trust JM Dude - we need to rally round behind him, wholly accept his Style and Tactics this coming Season. He deserves it Bro! Finally, the Epoch of Sir Alex is gone for good, this is the Era of JM Bro. Though we were used to Sir Alex Style, but I think it's time to lay off Sir Alex Ghost and face the Reality. |
eph12: ![]() All is well! |
eph12: ![]() I've already said the same earlier. Fellani is a natural fit for Clubs like Stoke, West-brom, Newcastle etc. Carrick is a good Player but he's aging, hence we can't rely on him this Season. JM gonna mount pressure on Ed Woodward to get him a solid DM, since we have few Players who can also play on the Wing. |
metodman: ![]() We only have Quantities not Qualities for the Position..... I guess?! I'm hoping Shaw would come good for the Team, also hope he's gonna have an injury-free Season. He's a classy LB, but being letdown by Injury. A fit Shaw covering the LB would be fantastic for the Team, hence we've got a real Quality among Quantities. |
eph12:I'm ain't contesting the Performance of Valencia either..... but don't you think he needs a solid backup?! What's gonna happen to the Position if he's injured?! Are you satisfied with Darmian, or you think Mensah and Tuanzebe are ripe enough as Backups?! |
Players Rating 1 David De Gea Pulled some excellent saves to keep the match at 1-0. United’s defence looks good heading into the new season, but de Gea is there just in case it capitulates the way it did in the first half. 25 Antonio Valencia Disappointing allowing himself to be outmuscled by Neymar, a weak player, for the goal. He didn’t appear motivated to succeed in that moment and hopefully, it’ll be considered a one-off for a player who’s generally very good. 12 Chris Smalling Don’t understand how he still gets into Manchester United’s side, even if it is pre-season; his positioning was poor, left gaps in United’s defensive line and broke offside traps, and he can’t tackle; his only defensive move is to tug the shirt of the opposing striker. 2 Victor Lindelof Looks worryingly unsteady, but in any case, he’s an upgrade on Smalling. Will look better when his partner performs better and allows him to play his role. 17 Daley Blind Struggled in the first half after a good 10 minutes. Given Smalling’s performances, Blind should be playing his best position, centre-back, and Mourinho should promote Demetri Michell, although that will never happen. 16 Michael Carrick Had a very good half, looked steady in possession and unmovable in defence in the opening half an hour. Not his fault United were simply outnumbered by Barcelona in the midfield. 6 Paul Pogba Mourinho’s desire to choose a formation that accommodated Herrera’s injury was a mistake against a talented Barcelona side, but Paul Pogba was at his best, winning the ball, moving forward with incredible power and pace, and doing well to retain it in the final third. 19 Marcus Rashford Again, he had a few moments that looked promising, but overall failed to influence the game and even retain the ball in the final third. Looks lost, and rightfully so, he belongs between two centre-backs and inside the penalty box. 22 Henrikh Mkhitaryan Didn't have time to do much as United were dominated throughout the match. However, he should still be creating more than he did with 90 minutes on the pitch. 14 Jesse Lingard Again looked lost out wide, moved centrally, and there were no wide players to take his place. With Mkhitaryan central and Juan Mata out injured, United’s only true player for the wide positions is Anthony Martial; Lingard needs to be playing centrally, and if Mourinho is to use Mkhitaryan centrally frequently this season, a new addition becomes all the more important for the wide areas. 9 Romelu Lukaku Quietly effective from Romelu Lukaku, who wasn’t put in behind for the opportunity to score but showed fantastic hold-up play on the night. Don’t expect him to create something out of nothing, like Rashford, he needs to be set up to perform the spectacular against top opposition. Substitutes 20 Sergio Romero Excellent saves and good positioning. Often, his distribution looks wayward, but he’s the best backup goalkeeper out there. 3 Eric Bailly Was beaten a couple of times with a few silly errors, but he’ll be fine heading into the new season once he reaches full fitness. 4 Phil Jones Overall looked quite good, not afraid to make bold decisions and can back them up with quality. Has come leaps and bounds under Mourinho. 36 Matteo Darmian Not much in way of attack on his wing but he did his job, Blind’s poor performance on the night means Darmian earns his place as the best left-back on tour again. 27 Marouane Fellaini It’s worrying that the first alternative to Michael Carrick is Marouane Fellaini, a player who shares none of the same characteristics or positional attributes. Mourinho should be testing his other central midfielders, and the fact he’s satisfied with Fellaini is extremely worrying. Also took an elbow to Gerard Pique in a friendly match. 11 Anthony Martial The substitution that brought Martial onto the pitch also added attacking threat. While he lost the ball a few times, he also threatened to create a goal, even creating a great chance for Rashford. 44 Andreas Pereira Looks great again, what’s there to say? He’s much more creative than Jesse Lingard and about equal defensively, would probably be more suited to playing out wide than the Englishman too. If he doesn’t start 30 matches this season, either he got injured, did something wrong, or Mourinho made a massive mistake. 38 Axel Tuanzebe Solid performance from Tuanzebe, who, despite only having 10 minutes, showed his ability with a massive burst into attack from right-back. Again, he’s an alternative to Fellaini in the deep midfield role. Tuanzebe had a 10-minute cameo last pre-season, in which Jose Mourinho detailed his talents, but a year later, he still hasn’t been incorporated into the squad, despite the need for quality in every position he can play. |
eph12: ![]() I said we have enough Players for the Position - Shaw, Blind, Rojo, Darmian et cetera. I didn't object against the Signing of a CM/DM. Feel free to dig and quote where I objected. Besides, are you satisfied with the RB? Coz you rarely complain or demand for a new Signing for the Position. |
"I view Manchester United as a tough, serious team, a team that, perhaps have not been in a good moment, but they were champions of the Europa League [last season] and are back in the Champions League this year. "They're a strong team, contenders for all competitions, I think they will be a difficult team to beat in the Premier League and in Europe. I wouldn't like to play them in the Champions League." - Ernesto Valverde |
funlord: ![]() LMAO! Seem you are ok with Perisic?! |
funlord: ![]() That's why I said if Madrid willingly offer him to us [at cheaper Rate], coz I'm hopeful they would let go one of the BBC if they eventually sign Mbappe. Bale wasn't an injury-prone Freak in England, perhaps his Body wants him out of Spain! |
Now I understand why JM is clamoring for a Winger and a DMF. United really need a classy Winger who can conveniently operate as a RW and RWF. Also, United is bigger than having the Likes of Fellaini and ageing Carrick in the Midfield Department. Presently the Team can only rely on Pogba and Herrera, perhaps Perreira too as the Midfielders. However, I really don't fancy the Perisic Dude, except he comes and proves me wrong. I would have wished for Bale, but it seems he's out of Reach except Madrid willingly offer him to us. All in all..... the Team had a good Preseason against Top Teams in Europe. Win one, draw one and honorably lose one - Kudos to the Manager, his Crew and the Players. |
"It's very important to lose a match in pre-season. You don't like to lose but I think it's very important. "I think it would be very bad for us to leave the US without a defeat, playing against teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, it would be very bad to go home with just victories. "So the defeat is good. But I think in the game we did some very good things and we did bad things. The very good things are to keep and the bad things are to improve." - Jose Mourinho |
![]() Zlatan!
