Martial is going nowhere, I'm very certain he's not gonna be loaned nor sell to any Club in January. He needs to start thinking football. He's a talented Player, has the confidence of the Manager, only need to learn from the best and grab his opportunity anytime it comes again! Besides, he should look at Depay at 23 rotting nowhere near the first Team. At least if he's not trusted, jM would have quarantined him in the same Bay with Schleiderlin, Depay and Co! |
"We [Anthony Martial's Agent] are studying the Sevilla option in details. "Sevilla are a very good club, are in a good position in La Liga, play in the Champions League and have a great coach. That's all I can tell you." - Philippe Lamboley |
"Anthony is very, very young. People forget that and last season Manchester United played completely differently. He was basically playing up front. "The team had lots of passive ball possession, just waiting to put it into space for Anthony to go and score a goal. This season is more difficult. He needs a little bit of time to improve. "Every player is different. I had this season a situation that was more difficult than Anthony - Mkhitaryan. "Mkhitaryan was completely open and understood the difference between me and other coaches he had. "There is a difference between the demands of the Premier League and the Ukrainian League, or the Bundesliga - a completely different philosophy of play. "And he worked a lot without playing, but he worked a lot to try to reach the level." - Jose Mourinho |
donjazet: ![]() I think the Guy is a Newbie on this Thread! No one really cares about the Pinky-Lad anymore! |
"Honestly, I don't care, [about the gap to the top four positions not being closed at the moment]. "I care about the way we play, our results, and getting the maximum points possible. Of course, every match for us is very difficult. There are no easy matches but we are playing well and we are more confident. "What happens, happens. For example, I think, last week it was Manchester City against Arsenal and somebody had to lose points. More of these matches will come and other people will also lose points. Let's see." - Jose Mourinho |
"His [Ibrahimovic] performance doesn’t show how old he is. He’s doing some incredible stuff and I'm very happy for him because he deserves it. "He’s a very big player and everyone knows him. I don’t have to say it because everyone knows he’s a fantastic player. "I hope he will do his best for the next game as well." - Henrikh Mkhitaryan |
I love the way Zlatan plays. He's great for the team and I hope he stays in good form.” - Daley Blind |
“If the perception changes, Paul can win it [Ballon d'Or] because Paul is not a goal-scorer, Paul is a midfielder that will score more and more goals. Because I think he has conditions to score goals. But Paul is a midfield player. In my opinion, the best. The best midfield player in the world. “Obviously young. Needs to improve. Wants to improve, which is even better. Has an agent who in my opinion is great for the player because he is not a typical agent who puts the player in the moon. He demands a lot from the player. “He wants the player to be better and better all the time. So I think he has everything around him to be a great player. The Premier League is very difficult. “You play three or four years in Italy, you arrive in the Premier League and the world is completely different. And he is doing well, he is doing more than well. His evolution is clear. So I can imagine next s eason for Paul will be top. “Obviously young. Needs to improve. Wants to improve, which is even better. "I'm not really surprised, because he's a very intelligent guy, a very proud man. He decided to come to Manchester United and to the Premier League, to a club with the level of expectation that Manchester United has, to the most difficult league in the world for a striker. "When he decided to come here, it's because he knows he can do it. When we contacted him, he told us: 'Yes, I want [it]'. I was sure he was not coming here to leave the Premier League without proof, leave the Premier League failing at Manchester United. No way. "When such a guy decided to come, I was completely clear that he would be ready and he's ready for more. Next season, he will be here again." - Jose Mourinho |
"That was the best goal I've ever scored, I was very excited. The first thing I did was look at the assistant and I saw it was not ruled as offside so I just started to celebrate. "I was expecting the ball to be in front of me and then I realised I was in front of it. As the ball was behind me, the only thing I could do was a backheel so I did that and I succeeded. "I don’t have anything of concern from a past injury so I’m happy to be back and I’m happy to be back to help the team. I will try to do my best for the next game. It’s very important that we’re in good shape and to keep going like this." - Henrikh Mkhitaryan |
"I liked the second half. I didn't like the first half. It was 1-0 at half-time and I think there was a clear penalty in our favour [when Lamine Kone flattened Juan Mata inside the box]. "In spite of that, I don't think we deserved to be winning 1-0. They were organised well, this team came here to close and try to be dangerous on the counter-attack, with the long ball to [Victor] Anichebe to hold, and they did well. "I did like the second half, we brought to the game the way we have been playing in the past couple of months, playing really well with intensity, creativity and we were dynamic. I like the second half very much as we could have scored five or six. It's three points, 12 points from four matches. We've played well for a long time but points are what we need now. My message was that the game was going in the direction where we were in control but it was apathetic control. You never know. "We needed to accelerate the game, press higher, play faster and short passes with more speed of the ball. We needed to bring the game to a different level and we did that from minute one [of the second half]. With Micki [Henrikh Mkhitaryan] and [Anthony] Martial, we intensified even more the game and we scored the second and third. "He [Mkhtaryan] has scored beautiful goals all his career. In this moment, [there are the] goals but also the defensive work and also creativity. And I'm so happy he came back after this injury and came back with his happiness and the feeling that the people at Old Trafford love him. That's a very important thing for him. "He [Ibrahimovic] should score more! He had a [chance for] 2-0 in front of [Jordan] Pickford that I thought: '2-0 and game over and no'. But, independent of the goals, his work is amazing. I saw him making runs against Kone and Papy Djilobodji, young guys, but he was faster and stronger than them. Great. "It's a difficult one. Middlesbrough need points as they lost today against Burnley. Aitor Karanka will come here obviously to try and he is a big friend of mine. You forget friends in football and he will come here to try to get something from that match. It's one more difficult match." - Jose Mourinho |
elrony: ![]() Perhaps! I really do not understand why he's supporting a Failure! Moyes claimed he wanted to sign Bale, Kroos, Cesc as well as Ronaldo for United, however he failed to get any of them except a Disaster like Fellaini. United would have degenerated to relegation-battling Club, had Moyes still in Charge..... because no world-class Player would be in his Team. |

"Merry Christmas to all United Fans on this Thread - The best, most active and most visited Thread in Sport Section on NAIRALAND." - Oasis007 |
Some still ain't happy with this Development. They wish the News or the Victory is fabricated; also they wish BH Members are still healthy and battle ready to kill more innocent Nigerians. I don't wanna weep for this Country, rather pity it! |
“In a year in which we saw the transfer record broken, the best acquisition is the one that arrived at Manchester United for no fee. “You cannot dispute he is box office. He is charismatic, powerful and a scorer of all kinds of goals. “Zlatan has shown us why he has won 29 major honours – including 11 league titles – during his glittering career.” - Jamie Carragher |
“Whisper it, but United are getting better and better and they have won more games on Boxing Day (18) than any other side in the history of the Premier League. “Former United boss David Moyes won 50 per cent of his games as manager of the Red Devils but his Sunderland side are unlikely to get anything at Old Trafford I’m afraid.” - Michael Owen |
“I think people in France have to be happy that he (Ibrahimovic) left. Because now you have a league. “With him, there was no league. It was Paris, Paris, Paris. League, Cup, League Cup, Super Cup. Everything. And now you have a league. “Now you have a league that I watch. I am interested. Nice, (Mario) Balotelli, Monaco, my friend Leonardo (Jardim, Monaco manager) and Paris. Now I watch Ligue 1 so you have to thank him (Ibrahimovic) that he left.” - Jose Mourinho |
“I have told him he [Adnan Januzaj] has to look as if he’s running a bit harder, sometimes his body language gives you the feeling that he’s not. “But he’s capable of winning games. He’s not quite doing it yet, but I have great belief he will. He’s got the ability to do it and score goals, he had a couple of one-against-one opportunities, instances you feel you would fancy to get in a shot. “He has got a bit fitter and he needs a bit of encouragement as well. He had a chance against Chelsea which he could have scored, although it was a good save. “But his goal in midweek showed his ability. If he wants to go back and play for Manchester United he has to show it here. “How does he get recognised? Get the assists and the goals on the board. I know he has Manchester United quality so he has to show everyone at Sunderland he has got this. “Adnan, if you are individual, what is it that you do? Cut in and shoot, get to the byline and cross. I wasn’t seeing either and I am not yet.” - David Moyes |
"I can say that's gone [Manchester United great Tradition]. There have been a few changes at Manchester United but that's the way they have chosen to go. "They were a football club who enjoyed traditions with the way they spent. They didn't try to compete with all the other clubs. They did what they thought was the right thing to do and spent the right way. "Maybe that has had to change because of the current situation. [But] Sir Alex [Ferguson] went out and bought wisely and correctly in the transfer market and what he thought he needed to do. "When I first went in my real target was Gareth Bale. I felt all along that Gareth Bale was a Manchester United player. "I fought right until the last minute. We actually offered a bigger deal than Real Madrid. But Gareth had his mind made up on going to Real Madrid. That was, in my mind, the player I really wanted to bring to Manchester United. "The other one was Cesc Fabregas, who we thought we would get right up until the last minute. "I remember when I first met Sir Alex and he always said there was a chance Ronaldo might come back. "So that was the level we were targeting. I was not going out to bring in seven, eight players, because we had a squad which had just won the league. "Toni Kroos was agreed to come in the summer. I had agreed it with Toni himself and his agent. Sometimes you don't get deals done. Gareth Bale, we were probably behind all along, Real Madrid were well in for it. "The Cesc one was disappointing. It was very close. And Toni Kroos came up in January - it was done. "A lot of players come into Manchester United and have not necessarily made the difference. But I think that, given time and having got to this period, I would have hoped I would be working with a successful team now." - David Moyes |
"Michael is another not blessed with pace, nor is he a box-to-box midfielder but, like Ryan Giggs and Teddy, he's found a way of playing which suits him. He enables the others around him to be better players, to attack. His presence reassures them; his simplicity is so constructive to United doing well. "Michael has got eyes in the back of his head. I watch him every game and I think, where on earth has he seen that pass from, because he hasn't looked for it. He just knows and you can't teach that. Not only can he see which pass needs making ahead of others, he makes the pass too. "There was a period around 2010 when [Carrick] received a lot of stick from United fans but every player who has ever played with Michael says he's unbelievable. Are they all wrong? Why do they all pick him out, the people who see him every day?" "The feeling that night was something that I've never had before in my life; that two minutes on the pitch just after we'd won it. "[Carrick] affords [Paul] Pogba and [Ander] Herrera the freedom to express themselves," says May. "He conducts the orchestra by ordering players about and he's a reason why Herrera is getting so much praise and Pogba too." "There have been changes with sports science and lifestyle. Michael Carrick won't be having 10 pints of beer over a weekend like I and other players did. We had a dietician at United but the science was nowhere what it is now. Our body fat was measured by calipers, which pinched the skin. We'd all cheer if someone was a bit on the heavy side; something Roy Keane never got as he was always the skinniest. "The players now have ice baths to aid recovery. The only ice baths we had were at Barnsley away and it was because there was no hot water. They're playing on better pitches, being better looked after. "The same rules don't apply to Ibrahimovic, who loves playing 90 minutes every game in a zone of his own, just as the fans love watching him score winning goals, while Carrick keeps things ticking further back. David May |
"Teddy [Sheringham] was still playing at 40 and still scoring goals. Teddy was never blessed with pace and nor is Zlatan Ibrahimovic, so I don't see why he can't continue playing. As long as he gets service, he will always score goals. "It's probably not the example that United fans want to hear, but it's like Ian Rush with goalscoring. "He scored so many goals, season after season because he just knew, through instinct, where the defenders were and where the ball was going to end up. "Zlatan made a challenge on a West Brom centre-half where he possibly could have been sent off," says May. "But he didn't leap with his elbow out or intent to hurt. He got away with it, but the defender must have been wondering what had hit him. He'd gone for a ball that was 65 percent in his favour, but Zlatan still went for it. "I was a defender and I played against some of the best attackers in football and I'd say that 98 percent of them wouldn't have gone for that ball. "He was brave to do that, but I've never seen someone play upfront on his own and run the line like Zlatan does. He's so good that he ties two central defenders down in each game. He bullies them, he sends out a message as if to say: 'Bring it on!' He's not arrogant like some say, he's just very confident and has enough ability to trust his talent and his judgment." - David May |

"He’s a great professional, a fantastic boy. He's very honest and open. He opened his heart, and my answer is simple; if he’s playing regularly with me, I have the right to say ‘no way’. "If he’s not playing regularly, I have no right to tell a player who wants to be happy, I have no right to say ‘you are going nowhere’. My answer was: if the offer is right, and our board thinks it is a good offer in relation to the quality of a very good player like Morgan, then I would not stop him." - Jose Mourinho |
elrony: ![]() Is he in the same class with Kante, Kroos, Modric and Co?! If your answer is NO, then we don't need him Dude! |
LOANS WATCH Adnan Januzaj He went to Sunderland during the summer transfer window looking to make a point after failing in his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund last term. Some had expected the Kosovan-Belgian attacker to join Paddy McNair and Donald Love in making a permanent move to Wearside but United are intent on not repeating the costly error of allowing Paul Pogba to leave too early. Januzaj’s form has not been of 2013-14 level, with his longest run in the side coinciding with the Black Cats’ bad start to the campaign. However, since recently returning from injury, his performances have improved and David Moyes’ side are beginning to finally look like putting up a decent fight against relegation with Januzaj a key figure. Guillermo Varela Moyes’ first signing at United, Guillermo Varela finally broke into the first team during an injury crisis in 2015-16 under Louis van Gaal. However, his season-long loan to Frankfurt has been been hit by an injury of his own. In only his third game in Germany, Varela damaged ankle ligaments in the opening moments of a clash with Darmstadt and has yet to appear since. He is expected back in the New Year and having been first choice at the start of the campaign he will be hoping to step back into the starting XI when he is back to full fitness. Goalkeeper Dean Henderson He was sent on loan to League Two side Grimsby in the summer having played nine games in the sixth-tier National League North during a temporary switch to Stockport County in early 2016. Henderson has yet to make it onto the field for the Mariners, with 13 substitute assignments to his name thus far, but the experience of working in a professional first-team environment day by day will doubtless prove fruitful later on. Cameron Borthwick-Jackson He was one of the good-news stories of United’s 2015-16 campaign, with only the emergence of Marcus Rashford usurping the full-back’s rise to prominence. Making 14 appearances in total, the young left-footer exceeded all expectations after being promoted to the first team due to a smattering of injuries. His switch to Championship side Wolves in the summer was meant to provide him with further senior experience, but Walter Zenga’s sacking after just 87 days in charge has thrown a huge stumbling block in his path. New boss Paul Lambert has insisted on packing his side with older heads where possible in the bid to steer clear of relegation trouble, and as a result, Borthwick-Jackson has not played since the former Aston Villa boss arrived. An early recall clause does exist in the deal, meaning United could well bring Borthwick-Jackson back to Old Trafford in January with one eye on a reassignment elsewhere on loan. Andreas Perreira With just nine points to their name and an early elimination from the Copa del Rey having been suffered in midweek, Granada cannot claim 2016-17 to have been a good season so far. However, Andreas Pereira is one man who has provided a positive light amid their struggles. The attacker has been a regular in the Nazaries’ first XI whether as a winger or a central attacking midfielder, and he scored his first goal for the club in their sole La Liga victory to date: a 2-1 success over high-flying Sevilla in early December. His trademark lively forward play has failed to get Granada going, but United will be hoping the experience of a relegation battle will help Pereira to mature quickly. Joel Pereira After playing eight games in goal for Rochdale during a loan spell last season, Joel Pereira returned to Old Trafford to play a part in the United under-21 side’s Premier League title success in April. This term he has headed to the Portuguese Primeira Liga to play for Belenenses and since breaking into the team in October he has been the first-choice keeper. Despite having the joint-worst attack in the league, Belenenses sit in mid-table and much of that is to do with their impressive defensive record. And Pereira has begun to earn notable plaudits for his role in the solid back line. James Wilson After being promoted to the United first team by caretaker manager Ryan Giggs in 2014, many will have been expecting a much greater return from James Wilson than he has so far managed. A loan spell with Brighton last term brought 27 appearances but only 12 starts and five goals, but this season’s assignment with Derby was curtailed by a serious ACL injury in October which saw him return to Carrington to undergo a rehabilitation programme which will keep him out for the rest of the campaign. |
sinizia: ![]() United Fans are sometimes do make ridiculous Suggestions. I really do not understand why some Dudes are also clamoring for the signing of Gueye. Do they think he's another Kante?! LOL! I think we should learn from the Likes of Fellaini and Schleiderlin - these are Players that are heavenly made for the mid-Table Clubs. |
sinizia: ![]() I was like Weedtaker has smoked that Osogbo Weed again! How can he suggest a Player like Tufan or Turan for United?!

“He [Zlatan Ibrahimovic] is a top player and we can’t help but learn from just being alongside him, playing and training with him, seeing what he is doing now and what he has done in the past. “In spite of his age, he has been a tremendous help to our side; he is doing loads for us. Let’s hope his form can continue because that is going to help us to climb the table, which is our goal. “We have a lot of experience in the squad and, together, we have to show what we can do to progress. “We are a few points behind the top four at the moment, which we have got to make up, but it is down to us to maintain our good form and turn it into even more victories. “We have to take each game as it comes but if we can continue playing the way we are and add a few more goals, then who knows what we can achieve in terms of trophies this season.” - Anthony Martial |
"They are being super supportive with me, and always gave me the feeling that three years is not the time I am going to stay here, I always had the feeling that I am going to stay for more time. "They know that I'm loving it, at every level, I'm loving my job at Manchester United, and they know that if one day they bring the contract, I will sign it, I don't even need my advisers, I'll sign because I am loving it. "I want to stay in the most difficult place to win, so I'm in the right place." - Jose Mourinho |
JayKayMaybachz:If JM wants him as a RB, then why signing Semedo again?! Forget what the Rumors say about loaning him till next Season, at least he's coming back to play RB if he's signed eventually! |
