When you buy Tesla stock from another investor, Tesla itself usually receives no money. However, your purchase still enriches existing Tesla shareholders by increasing demand and therefore the market price of Tesla shares. But of course, the underlining fact of my submission is not being part of such a business whose CEO incites h8te against blacks. ghm: Sorry, If I may ask, how do someone buying Tesla stocks enrich another owner of Tesla stocks? I am just curious! |

Not touching this with a long pole. I sold my Tesla stock since he turned full-blown MAGA. I cant be using my hard earned money (no matter how little it is in the scheme of things) to further enrich someone who has not hidden his h8te of black people and people of the Muslim faith. megawealth01: What a man! |

Imagine wanting a man approaching 100 years to speak for you. Nigerians wont ever stop to amaze me in their inanities. Wole Soyinka doesnt beleive Obi will make a good president and said as much when asked. I perfectly agree with the nonagenarian on this. Tinubu is a deeply flawed character and I have serious reservations about aspects of his rulership, but I have zero doubt an Obi presidency(wont happen) will be much worse. megawealth01: Why is Uncle Wole Soyinka Silent?
If there are books written by Wole Soyinka that I have not read, it would just be one or two. As someone who loves the creative use of words, Baba Wole is one of those writers that I loved to read from.
Aside from that, I loved how he stood against corrupt governments and spoke courageously for a better Nigeria.
Suddenly, since Tinubu became President. The kidnapping and killings everywhere in the country seem not to concern him. His only problem is echoing repeatedly that Peter Obi should never be allowed to be President.
The hunger ravaging the entire country does not bother him. He’s rather deeply bothered that Peter Obi has supporters.
And the most disappointing one. The Oyo Teachers and Schoolchildren kidnap.
VDM has being everywhere calling on the government to do something or he will be forced to start a gofundme campaign to raise money to rescue the children and teachers that are still alive.
Sowore is organizing a massive protest to occupy Aso Rock until the victims are rescued.
Peter Obi is crying out every day, trying to pressure the government to do something.
Every well meaning Nigerian is crying out. The entire social media is awash with anger and frustration over the government’s inability to rescue children and families held and tortured in different camps and forests by kidnappers and terrorists.
But guess what?
Wole Soyinka, the man who uses every opportunity to call Peter Obi unworthy of being a president, is yet to say anything about this kidnap and killing of teachers and schoolchildren in his part of the country.
And this is a man who values education. This is a man who has been a teacher almost all his life.
As much as I respect the man, I’m just here wondering why Mr. Peter Obi is a bigger concern to him than the suffering, death and destruction that Tinubu has allowed and unleashed on this country.
Maybe the problem has never been Peter Obi’s leadership qualifications as constantly taunted by Uncle Wole, but Wole’s hate and fear that Peter Represents and reflects the purity and purpose that Wole’s kinsman does not possess.

I am not sure you are qualified to speak on behalf of 'Nigerians' mikeapollo: Don't twist anything here! There is no "hyena" coming from anywhere! What Nigerians don't like, they have the right to chase out! The same people that voted for Tinubu, the same people have the right to vote him out. Simple! He is not better than any of the 2 big contenders. Unless you can tell me that any of the contenders had history with drugs or forged certificates. |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Oasisblue: 6:57pm On Jun 01 |
Do you open your doors to an Hyena to chase a snake in your room? mikeapollo: If there is a snake in your room (a present danger or problem), you don't worry about the bad road or poor electricity in your area.
And which useless little macroeconomic gains bring you all together? Tinubu too was doing useless populism! He cannot be treated differently because there is nothing special or fantastic about him and his govt. He was also a disgruntled politician who just wanted to become president!
Let Nigerians vote who they want in 2027! Period! |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Oasisblue: 2:57pm On Jun 01 |
Exactly my thoughts. So, how does Obi want to tackle this? Continue with the subsidies and keep owing the GenCos or remove subsidy and make Nigerians suffer paying cost-reflective tariff for power? ayobama1: GenCos are private companies.
Today, the FG is owing the companies several billions in unpaid subsidy spanning many years. |

"Nigerians will think about ''what next'' after they deal with the ''present problem''."
The same sentiment that gave us PMB. What have they said they would do differently? Obi said he will give us 10K MW of electricity, where will the money come from? is he doing PPP ? Will private players be incentivized to continue investing in the power sector when the market isnt liberalized? Will Obi remove electricity subsidy when he is criticizing fuel subsidy removal?, the same policy he advocated in 2023. The so-called opposition are disgruntled politicians who just want Tinubu out. I doubt they know what to do with power if entrusted to them. Tinubu is deeply flawed, but I dont see any of the top opposition candidates faring better. In fact, I fear we may lose the little macroeconomic gains that brings us all together on the blog on a platter useless populism that may be introduced by Obi or Atiku. mikeapollo: Nigerians will think about ''what next'' after they deal with the ''present problem''.
Both Obi and Atiku, plus other political parties have explained what they would do differently to address and eradicate poverty, education, implement free and fair elections, eradicate corruption, create employment, provide health care etc. The problem is that we the people mostly don't read or listen to what the opposition says. We listen mostly to ruling govt's side because of patronage and propaganda. Let's also listen to the opposition and we will hear/know their ideas and policy drift. |

Obi only won in 1 of the 6 SW states in 2023-Lagos, and I seriously doubt he will pull it off again. Itzlinda: Seems like you have forgotten that APC controls all the northern governors and majority of the Senate and rep.
So Tinubu will put on a great outing by getting significant number of votes but not getting the majority votes in the states.
It's really too early to call.
I don't know what will happen to the voting pattern of sw.
That will largely be the determinant of who win the election.
If Obi win southwest States like in 2023, then Tinubu is really a gonner |

Saying 'No one would vote for him' is incredibly short-sighted. Many would vote for him, but of course he go also rig, just like everyone of the prominent candidates. isaacosas01: Now we are saying truth. The only way Tinubu wins is by rigging. Lets stops painting the truth - Tinubu chance is only by Rigging, no one will vote for him.
But i dare say this will not be like the last elections, more people will come out, more people are angry. It will be impossible for Tinubu to win by rigging. |

LOL. Makinde WONT defeat Tinubu in Oyo isaacosas01: I am tired of the statement too. Impossible to remove Tinubu because of what?
People make that ridiculous statement to make people lose faith. They don’t say he will win - cause they know he can’t, they say you can’t remove him. Telling us that Tinubu is such a master rigger he would rig out 100m plus Nigerian.
The real question is will the North vote Tinubu over Atiku - the answer is No. Will the South vote Tinubu over Obi - the answer is no. Even Makinde will defeat Tinubu in Oyo. So how will Tinubu win How They can’t answers - they just say it will be impossible to remove him.
This divided opposition means Tinubu instead of 2nd place will come out 3rd or 4th place, behind Obi and Atiku.
Atiku, Obi will sure score more votes than Tinubu - go and mark it. |

Sowore is the best candidate on the ballot but you cant free a slave who is in love with his chains. GeneralDae: Exactly. Stock market would only react negatively if a candidate like Sowore wins. Because then he would declare minimum wage to be 1 million naira immediately believing the revenue for it would come automatically when he jails every politician stealing 😀 |

A total of 429,664,606 units of CWG Plc shares were executed as an off-market trade on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, in a single deal brokered by Cordros Securities Ltd, which acted on both the buy and sell sides of the transaction — a structure known in market parlance as a negotiated cross deal. Nairametrics gathered that the block trade, valued at approximately N8.98 billion was executed at unit price of N22.00 per share slightly above N21.50 prevailing market price, representing roughly 17% of the company’s total issued share capital of 2.52 billion shares. The transaction is one of the largest single-ticket off-market trades in the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) technology sector in recent memory. debeey87: Can anyone confirm the bid and offer size for CWG. I agree it seems an overvaluation. Maybe they are factoring the fact that they want to expand the capacity of the refinery to >1million barrels/day? awesomeJ: The fact that Alhaji spent $20bn to build it doesn't mean anyone will be able to built it for that amount today. $20bn of 2013 is worth significantly more than $20bn of 2026.
Then you value the market share the refinery already has around the globe and other such intangible assets.
Book value should be $30-$40bn
$50bn market value is then just 1.25x - 1.67x which is very fair. |
