The Jigawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has deposited N2.5 billion with the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) as part of the state’s 2023 Hajj fares.

Executive Secretary of the Jigawa Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board board told reporters in Dutse on Friday that NAHCON allocated 1,225 seats to the state for the 2023 exercise.

He said each intending pilgrim in the state would pay N2.9 million as Hajj fare as approved by NAHCON.

Mr Labbo added that 80 per cent of the seats allocated to the state by NAHCON had been allocated to its 27 local government areas for sale to intending pilgrims.

He said also that the board had assigned the transportation of the state’s pilgrims to AZMAN Airlines.

The executive secretary urged all those who had yet to complete their payment of Hajj fares to do so on or before April 21.

Mr Labbo also commended Gov. Muhammad Badaru of Jigawa for his support for the board.

Nigeria’s President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will kickstart a revolution of policies that will train, equip and build capacity amongst Nigeria’s very youthful population in a bid to prepare them for worldwide opportunities that abound.

Skill acquisition is one area the incoming government intends to invest a lot in terms of infrastructure provision and facilitation of global initiatives in soft skills and development.

An average Nigerian youth is already committed to skills acquisition in their private capacities. What they need is the little push that would enhance competitiveness and improve their ability to adapt on the world stage.

Asiwaju has identified this and has drafted policies and programs that will ensure the provision of accessible facilities and skills development hubs in strategic states of all the geopolitical zones.

This will curb youth restiveness, unemployment, propensity to engage in illicit cyber activities and overall security of the country.

GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN INNOCENT."

An antelope was running like very fast. And the Elephant asked her: "Antelope, why are you running like that?"

She replied, "The police are arresting all the goats in the village."

The elephant retorted: "But you are not a goat!"

The Antelope replied, "With our current justice system it will take me 20 years behind bars to prove that I am not a goat."

And the elephant joined and also started running [too].

Copied.

Housing remains a big challenge in Africa’s biggest economy with many lost in doubt if they will ever grow to own a home of their dream through legal means.

By reforming the sector, Asiwaju plans to encourage a working mortgage system that works for all.

For Asiwaju, there are small-yet-idle number of parastatals with undefined purpose in the system that needs to be merged to a single, more functional unit.

This will allow his government to monitor the sector & invest heavily in order to reduce the housing deficit.

The agency will have a three-fold mandate to

(i) grant low interest rate mortgages directly;

(ii) guarantee qualified mortgages issued by banks; and

(iii) purchase mortgages from private banks.

Asiwaju is also planning to work with state governments to review the land use act in a move that will encourage them to avail lands in their states to investors for affordable housing.

Working with state governments, his government will provide credits and incentives to developers of housing projects that set aside a significant portion of their projects to affordable housing.

Great times are here. We need to be excited because in Asiwaju, we have a talk and do president. One known for keeping up to his promises, this time, of renewed hope.

Tinubu's lawyers have pointed out one absurdity in Atiku Abubakar's petition. He complains about the outcome of the election in 10 states of Abia, Anambra, Delta, Ebonyi, Edo, Enugu, Imo, Kano, Plateau and Lagos, which Tinubu did not win.

While Peter Obi of the Labour Party won in nine of the states, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria People’s Party won in Kano.

The absurdity in Atiku's petition was that he failed to join Obi, Kwankwaso and their parties in his petition. Interesting days lie ahead at the election tribunal.

Peter Obi and the obedients may have to do this the proper way - build your party from scratch.

Bello is anyhow person. He simply wants someone he can control, manipulate and make sure that his sins were never exposed.

I knew all along that he will never allow Onoja. Because he knows the guy stubborn and rugged just like him. He can never bend to his will.

What took me by surprise is his choice of Ododo. We were all expecting Pharm Asuku but unknown to us, he was looking for a puppet. Now we have another dummy waiting to be rigged in.

We have no formidable oppositions in kogi state that could present someone reasonable.

His choice of picking his kingman is a bad one I think. You don't expect progress on the alter of injustice. But what do I know?
Usman Ododo is from same Senatorial District as him bá? But Onoja was/is really loyal to him sha.

He simply is following Wike's footstep/strategy.

You suppose know that the period between winning election and taking a seat is not the time for media appearances but a time to take 10,000 phone calls from Godfathers all over Nigeria looking to get their people into office.

Rest assured, a lot of work is going on, in the Nigerian sense that the intray for a President elect is full with settling different stakeholders. Tinubu is working . . . .in the way all Nigerian politicians work in the period between winning election and taking their seat.
