A visitor to the Nigerian Correctional Service facility in Agodi, Ibadan, has been apprehended for hiding hard drugs inside food items.
It was learnt that the visitor was arrested while attempting to smuggle suspected hard drugs into the medium security custodial centre on Wednesday.

DAILY POST on Thursday, noted that the suspect was arrested during routine security checks conducted on visitors and their belongings at the entrance of the facility.
He said that the suspect who claimed to be visiting an inmate, was found to have concealed substances suspected to be Colorado and hemp inside a portion of cooked rice.

He added that upon his arrest, the suspect has been handed over to National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA.
He spoke further that appropriate legal action would be taken against the suspect.
He said "At approximately 2:20 p.m. on Wednesday, 25th February 2026, a male visitor was apprehended during routine security checks conducted on visitors and their belongings at the facility entrance. "The suspect, who claimed to be visiting an inmate, was found to have concealed substances suspected to be Colorado and hemp inside a portion of cooked rice.
"Following the arrest, the suspect was immediately handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation and appropriate legal action.
"The handover was carried out by the Officer-in-Charge of the facility, Assistant Controller of Corrections Sunday Adekunmbi.
"The Controller of Corrections for Oyo State, Osogun C Olusegun, commended the officers for their vigilance and professionalism.

A woman identified simply as Mama Oliver was Tuesday allegedly murdered by her daughter and grand-daughter at Ezema Nru in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State.
According to reports, her killers have some mental instability, and she had relocated to her daughter's house at Ezema to help manage their ill-health.
"I know them very well," according to an eyewitness who does not want to be mentioned.
"The daughter's name is Loretta Asadu, and the granddaughter's name is Chikamso. Mama Oliver came from Umabor-Ehalumona to assist her mentally challenged daughters. She is about 70 and energetic. Loretta Asadu is the wife of the late Ignatius Asadu of Umunkporogidi. Loretta had suddenly developed a mental illness with her last daughter, and the poor mother had been struggling to stabilise them."
News has it that the deceased had complained of hunger. Loretta's son, identified as Abumchukwu, had stepped out to buy food for his grandmother.
"Before leaving," narrates a neighbour,
"Abumchukwu had tied his mother's hands because she was becoming violent. While he was out for the food, the sister, Chikamso, also mentally challenged, went and untied her mother.
Both of them pounced on the aged woman; dragged her behind the house, and hacked her to death with machete and axe. They accused her of stealing their money."
Another eyewitness, who identified herself as Ifeanyi, said, "It is true. I have been crying. His son called us saying something happened. Loretta has some mental problem. She was said to have some kidney problem before. They butchered the woman's head. The deceased is very peaceful.
The corpse of the deceased has been deposited at the mortuary."
The Enugu State Police Command is yet to issue statement on the incident.

There are snakes in my compound, they move around the lawn. Most of them are the non venomous type and I have caught a few of them and released them afterwards. They help to curb pests like lizards and rats in my house. If I see the high venomous ones, I throw them out of the house

Youths have k!lled a snake that k!lled a young man identified as Aondona Ahemba Christopher in a community in Benue State.

It was gathered that Christopher d!ed after a snake bite occurred on February 17, 2026.

An eyewitness Barnabas Dzawua, who confirmed the incident on Wednesday, said youths in the community went to the scene, searched for the snake and killed it.

"This is the snake that k!lled Aondona Ahemba, the youths went to where the snake bite him and searched for it and killed it," he wrote.

Farmin is really dangerous! At anytime , a snake can bite you & it could be fatal.

Just that farmers are not well taken care of in Nigeria. I’m sure outside countries they will be medical equipments in the farm in case of such occurrences before going to the hospital. But here if e bite them go use razor blade cut u tire 😂😂.
