That would not make economic sense for the US. You do not understand the process of amending the constitution. You think the President could just wake up and change the US constitution by executive order. The framers of the constitution are not silly when they stated that children born on the US soil are citizens.

- the framers of the constitution did not just say born on US soil, they also added " and subject to the jurisdiction thereof". Can you argue that a newborn whose 2 biological parents(foreigners) are subject to the jurisprudence of another nation, can be suject to the jurisprudence of US

he is not seeking to change d constitution, he is seeking to set up a show where the constitution will be interpreted appropriately(in favor of his executive order of course)

interpretation of "jurisdiction" is the key battle here not constitutional amendment per say. In the context of citizenship, it means born in the US and subject to the authority of the US...so if both parents are not subject to the jurisdiction of the US, can it be said that their offspring is subject to the jurisdiction of the US. And really in matters like this, if the supremem court is right-leaning, trump may have his way.
