Dear Lord, I thank you for your love and mercy upon our lives. I thank you for the testimonies and answers to our prayers. You have been so good and wonderful to us even when we reject and offend you time without number. I'm saying sorry for neglecting such a noble gathering of your saints for such a long time. I know how much I have missed and suffered as a result but hope I can gain all back. Thank you once again dear Lord and saviour.

@everyone
MISSED U GUYS. I'm however happy with the love that is flowing around though was expecting much more participation. I have severe burdens and requests to make and do want all and sundry to join me:

1. Lets pray that this gathering not to die/wither. Praying is one thing that weakens satan and his plans &u r almost too sure he will do all in his power to stop our mouths from uthering one more word to God. Lets pray for the hunger and fire to be rekindled in every member of this gathering and for the Holy Spirit to direct the hands of many more to click and join.

2. Pray for the Ministers in ur local church and their families. Satan attacks the families when he can get the Ministers, so pray for the wives and kids and seal them with Jesus' blood. Also pray that every of their ministration will bring revival and many be saved. Let signs and wonders be a regular occurance in ur local assembly that many more souls be won.

3. Lets pray for Nigeria and the leaders. My heart fails me when I see the situation we find ourselves but God keeps on telling me "all is not lost if only u pray and act!" We should pray that our leaders lead by examples and if they want to continue in corruption, that they be exposed, disgraced and purnished. Let us also play our own part by being honest citizens, shunning corruption and serving well.

4. Lets pray for my elder sister. She was operated on recently for fibroid. Few weeks after, she started feeling pains and the Dr is suspecting infection. I'm tired of my family members &myself falling ill too often and has taken a stand that all of the plans of satan in our lives will stop henforth. Thank you and God bless as you pray along with me.

Lovely weekend to you all.

Hi dear bro & sis,

I have two prayer requests from two of my friends. They are:

1. A colleague of mine wants healing for a friend of hers (a popular female actress) that is in the intensive care unit of LUTH for kidney problem.

2. A friend sent this text to me this morning "pls pray along with me 4 my sister, I spoke 2 my mum, I was told she has been at the hospital 4 almost two weeks and she cannot walk well not to talk of leaving the bed"

I believe in the anointed and God's presence in this thread and believe that these two situations can turnaround for good. Pls join us in prayer. Thanks all. Luv u guys.

TESTIMONY TIME!!!

My mum that was hospitalized for typhoid and cronic malaria is now well and has been discharged from the hospital.
it was a trying time for her and the rest of us as it almost took her life but I thank God for His mercy and healing!
She is now bouncing and was surprised when I called her and she said she is studying for her exams. To add to the healing, the huge cost of treatment by one of the best doctors in Benin was settled by a family friend of ours (without us even asking!!!) When HE works, we marvel (with our mouths wide open)

I thank all of you that prayed for us, may you never be left alone in times of trial and may your answer come swiftly in Jesus' name. amen.

Thanks Olowotee for the calls, text and concern, u are a God-sent. it still baffles me we havent seen yet.

Excess love to everyone

@everyone
Maybe we should agree on a specific date to pray to God on behalf of our beloved friend @tat. Any suggestion please as in date? time?

Hi Olowotee, hope all is well with you dear friend. Concerning our friend tat, let's try and fix a later date (maybe dis weekend) so that other people who will check the thread btw now and weekend can join us in prayers. However, we can also put her in our individual daily prayer prior to the corporate prayers concerning her. Just a suggestion though!

You started well; as I see that this is your very 1st post on Nairaland.
I pray it wont be your last and may you continue to be a part of the
good things happening here. In Jesus' name. Amen
you're blessed and warmly welcome!!!

@everyone
my friend's fiance is now doing well. The surgery was successful despite so many temptations that came
One of the outstanding temptations was after they have opened him up and wanted to work on the defected part
was when they found out that the most important tool of the surgery was not available (they lent it to another hospital)
This guy was left open and bleeding for almost an hour before they were able to get that tool and finish the surgery.
So many other things happened but God saw him through. He is now recovering fast and has even resumed his work at
Intercontinental Bank. Thanks to God and the vessels He used in this forum.

MY PRAYER REQUEST
I will be going for my ACCA exams early next month and have already started celebrating my success. Join me in prayers and the claiming of the victory ahead!!! I expect the best this time. Thanks all. Love ya!

Please add this to our prayer points.

My friend's fiance is undergoing a surgical operation today
Let's commit him into God's hands and pray for its success.
And that God will take control of the surgery and nullify every plans of the enemy.
Dat he will recover fast and continue his work soonest.

jorge1980:

Guy u must have taken the test 20 years ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! there is nothing like verbal reasoning its just quantitative reasononig , 21 minutes a lot similar to GRE analytical graphs.

If less than 6 months is your 20 years then U R RIGHT!

I took that test at their Head office in Lagos and it was organized by their HR.

I even introduced someone and she was called, she went for the test 2 weeks ago and confirmed the same thing. So what are you talking about?

If you are talking about the one on their website then sorry bros! U will wait forever to get in and for your information: THE TEST ON THEIR WEBSITE IS DESIGNED TO MAKE U FAIL! They even said it themselves that its difficult with a very high cut-off since you are competing with people around the world.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Standard Charterd Bank by obanikoro2(m): 3:49pm On Apr 28, 2008
The test is online as said earlier. They are linked to SHL in the USA and dats the format of their test.

They come in two parts: Mathematics/Numerics (forgotten its real name) and the Verbal Reasoning.

The Numerics is mainly charts, tables and graphs with one diagram to 3 or four questions. They are not hard but very technical and u will have to think very hard and too fast in order to beat the time. The good thing is dat you will be given practical examples to practice with before the main test (this is not part of ur time). So you can use these to know how to answer the real thing.

The Verbal Reasoning comes with short passages/comprehension and some dazzling 3 to 4 questions attached (i.e. u will have 4 questions to answer from each Comprehension dat will be given u).

The whole test should not take more than 1hour. Speed and accuracy are the watch words. Dont hang on to any question that is proving tough, just move on and dont try cracking it (if u still have time left after answering the last question, u can go back and attempt the one u left b4). You may take a calculator if you like but I assure u dis "u may not use it" becos the questions are simple but put in a technical way to test the speed of ur brain.

go to www.shl.com and try attempting the few FREE test that available (it will help u). Success!

Dear LORD! We come b4 U this day, thanking You for Your awesome love, care and grace. We worship Your Majesty and Royalty. You are too wonderful and great! We also commit annamaria's sister into Your able hands for You to deliver. You know whatever she is going thru now and we plead her case b4 You the one and only Just and Fair Judge. Forgive her and set her free LORD.

Let this event not break her beyond repair but let it bring a resounding and firm trust in Your ablility to save. Be by her side all through this hard time, protect her from all evil and favor her immensely. Let it be that she will be released soon and be given enough time to repay the money. We thank You becos we know You have answered our prayers according to Your will.

@everyone
Join me to thank God for delivering my sister (the one that got married in January) from armed robbery attack at Ore yesterday. She travelled to see her in-laws and my mum; on her way back she was attacked. She ran into the bush with some others as they (robbers) were shooting. God saved my family from sorrow as she only had slight bruises but didnt loose anyof her belongings.

The LORD God Almighty be praised now and forever more!!! For His eyes are always on His beloved and He will never forsake them or let them be hurt. My Father is just too good!

Yes o! It comes back to us as immense, unimaginable strength; exhibited in every aspect of our being!

"With God all things are possible"

This story was written by a doctor who worked in South Africa.

One night I had worked hard to help a mother in the labor ward; but in spite of all we could do, she died leaving us with a tiny premature baby and a crying two-year-old daughter. We would have difficulty keeping the baby alive; as we had no incubator (we had no electricity to run an incubator).

We also had no special feeding facilities. Although we lived on the equator, nights were often chilly with treacherous drafts. One student midwife went for the box we had for such babies and the cotton wool that the baby would be wrapped in.

Another went to stoke the fire and fill a hot water bottle. She came back shortly in distress to tell me that in filling the bottle, it had burst (rubber perishes easily in tropical climates). "And it is our last hot water bottle!" she exclaimed. As in the West, it is no good crying over spilled milk, so in Central Africa it might be considered no good crying over burst water bottles. They do not grow on trees, and there are no drugstores down forest pathways.

"All right," I said, "put the baby as near the fire as you safely can, and sleep between the baby and the door to keep it free from drafts. Your job is to keep the baby warm."

The following afternoon, as I did most days, I went to have prayers with any of the orp hanage children who chose to gather with me. I gave the youngsters various suggestions of things to pray about and told them about the tiny baby. I explained our problem about keeping the baby warm enough, mentioning the hot water bottle, and that the baby could so easily die if it got chills. I also told them of the two-year-old sister, crying because her mother had died.

During prayer time, one ten-year old girl, Ruth, prayed with the usual blunt consciousness of our African children. "Please, God" she prayed, "send us a water bottle. It'll be no good tomorrow, God, as the baby will be dead, so please send it this afternoon."

While I gasped inwardly at the audacity of the prayer, she added, "And while You are about it, would You please send a dolly for the little girl so she'll know You really love her?"

As often with children's prayers, I was put on the spot. Could I honestly say, "Amen"? I just did not believe that God would do this. Oh, yes, I know that He can do everything, the Bible says so. But there are limits, aren't there? The only way God could answer this particular prayer would be by sending me a parcel from my homeland. I had been in Africa for almost four years at that time, and I had never, ever received a parcel from home. Anyway, if anyone did send me a parcel, who would put in a hot water bottle? I lived on the equator! Halfway through the afternoon, while I was teaching in the nurses' training school, a message was sent that there was a car at my front door.

By the time I reached home, the car had gone, but there, on the veranda, was a large twenty-two pound parcel. I felt tears pricking my eyes. I could not open the parcel alone, so I sent for the orphanage children.

Together we pulled off the string, carefully undoing each knot. We folded the paper, taking care not to tear it unduly. Excitement was mounting.
Some thirty or forty pairs of eyes were focused on the large cardboard box. >From the top, I lifted out brightly colored, knitted jerseys ys. Eyes sparkled as I gave them out Then there were the knitted bandages for the leprosy patients, and the children looked a little bored. Then came a box of mixed raisins and sultanas - that would make a batch of buns for the weekend. Then, as I put my hand in again, I felt the, could it really be? I grasped it and pulled it out - yes, a brand-new, rubber hot water bottle. I cried. I had not asked God to send it; I had not truly believed that He would. Ruth was in the front row of the children. She rushed forward, crying out, "If God has sent the bottle, He must have sent the dolly too!"

Rummaging down to the bottom of the box, she pulled out the small, beautifully dressed dolly. Her eyes shone! She had never doubted!

Looking up at me, she asked: "Can I go over with you and give this dolly to that little girl, so she'll know that Jesus really loves her?"

That parcel had been on the way for five whole months. Packed up by my former Sunday school class, whose leader had heard and obeyed God's prompting to send a hot water Bottle, even to the equator. And one of the girls had put in a dolly for an African child - five months before, in answer to the believing prayer of a ten-year-old to bring it "that afternoon."

"Before they call, I will answer" (Isaiah 65:24) This awesome prayer takes less than a minute. When you receive this, say the prayer, that's all you have to do. No strings attached. Just send it on to whomever you want - but do send it on. Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive. There is no cost but a lot of rewards.

Let's continue praying for one another,
Father, I ask you to bless my friends reading this right now. I am asking You to minister to their spirit at this very moment. Where there is pain, give them Your peace and mercy. Where there is self doubting, release a renewed confidence to work through them. Where there is tiredness or exhaustion, I ask You to give them understanding, guidance, and strength as they learn submission to Your leading. Where there is spiritual stagnation, I ask You to renew them by revealing Your nearness, and by drawing them into greater intimacy with You. Where there is fear, reveal Your love, and release to them Your courage. Where there is a sin blocking them, reveal it, and break its hold over the lives of my friends.
Bless their finances, give them greater vision, and rise up leaders and friends to support and encourage them. Give each of them discernment to recognize the evil forces around them, and reveal to them the power they have in You to defeat it. I ask you to do these things in Jesus' name.

And a word of wisdom for the day:
"Do not ask the Lord to guide your footsteps if you're not willing to move your feet."

I love you all kiss

WOW! You guys didnt disappoint me at all!
Battle continues!!! Who will win this WW III?

olabowale:

@Obanikoro: You are very childlike. I really do not want to say tha you are childish. There are no dragons here. I am a human being, bowing my will, voluntarily to my Creator. Maybe you are proposing that KAG may be a possible gragon, reducing the chances that it is a computer or he (assuming that you a male) is human to 331/3% each? Thats a possibility. Hopefully, someone might even suggest that plant is also a possibility! Therefore taking it down a notch to 25%.

olabowale:

I will stop at that so that we do not ditute the conversation to meaningless babbles.

EXACTLY WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN DOING BRO!!!
MEANINGLESS TALK! YOU ARE NOT EVEN COMMUNICATING!

olabowale:

But my engaging the entity known as "KAG," will not preclude me from reminding you that you are in the grouping of Hindus, who know that their is a MIGHTY GOD, but yet have gods in their temples and homes. The christians do have crosses, crucibles in Churches and homes and around their neck, along with many saints, Mary, Fatima, etc.
Once again you have shown that you are a bias boy with a myopic mind and bigoted way of thinking!
And unfortunately so; a made-up mind u are not obviously ready to change.
Who told u all Christians go about with crosses on their chests and in their homes?
Have you been to the all the homes of over a billion Christians in the world?
Its such a pity you talk like this!! Its a complete waste of time replying you.
Something I hope not to do again!!!

GOD's Mercy shall envelop you and grant you audience in HIS Presence EVERYDAY!

GOD's Righteousness shall burst forth from within you this month.

You shall decree a thing and it shall be established in a hurry!!!

The weather shall be to your favor and command this month

Holy Spirit-enabled-Boldness shall come upon you and you will do HIS bidding without fear!

You shall all operate with so great Faith, Boldness, Grace, Wisdom, Understanding and Love thru out this month.

us2nigeria:

@obanikoro2, it's no problem at all. As I am looking for a job for myself, I hope others are blessed with jobs as well. I'm focused on multinational companies, because I think bringing dollars, pounds, and euros into the Nigerian economy will contribute to the greater good of Nigeria, and it keeps us living large and in charge! grin

True talk dear sis grin
