Hoodrat: In Nigeria, opportunities are everywhere if you look closely. Communities face many unmet needs and shortages in infrastructure and services. Creating a venture that solves these problems can lead to significant success. It may not be the easiest environment for salary earners, but it offers immense potential for entrepreneurs. Well, I think she was referring specifically to employees who earn salaries |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: A Lady Sparks Outrage Online Over Jobs & Earnings In Nigeria. What Is Your Take? by obeegee: 10:22pm On Feb 15 |
Kaycee54321: I see the point she's trying to make.
But this is a fallacy of hasty generalisation - "There is no legal job..." makes her theory absolute, rendering it false.
A mid trim 2025 Toyota Camry fresh from the factory can cost around 30K USD - roughly 40m...
To be pessimistic, call it 60m plus shipping.
There are white collar jobs that pay 6m net per month (excluding bonuses) - I know a C-suite guy earning this amount. And this guy has a boss who earns more...
There are people who have big bonuses after their multi million Naira salaries.
Professionals (like those in sales) can make unbelievable money from commissions per sale...and that can really rack up in volume depending on the type of deal brokered.
So, yes, a brand new car can be bought legally in Nigeria.
The only fact is, compared to the general population, the fraction of people who can purchase a brand new car is very small.
PS: Currently, I can't afford a brand new car. Because una no get manners here. Next thing, someone will come and say their father is claiming rich. 6m a month means 10 months of untouched pay to buy the brand new car. Now whoever is at C suite level is most likely married with grown children. Responsibilities will be numerous. So i think she is right |

Zocalite: That's why state police is very important
The federal police becomes very professional and effective
State police made up state indigene or residents they quickly identify them cos of their affinity to the state
Pass the intel to the federal police if they don't have helicopters
And boom
Nigeria needs state police Well said! |

A fully armed militia spread across multiple states will be handled by the police. What nonsense are you saying? Don't talk for the sake of it but be sure you know what you're talking about. These are people in forests, are police trained to operate in forests?
Complain with sense. Is it not the same police taking them out now? Are they not in the forest being taken out now? Is our police limited to one state? Is our police not also spread across multiple states? I stand by what i said. The police is capable of dealing with these criminals Comment with sense too. |

Not entirely correct, in many countries, when its terrorism case whether inside a country or outside, military forces can be deployed to handle the situation complimenting police effort
Remember military can deal with terrorists both within and outside a country Yes i agree. But personally I don't think these people are more sophisticated than our police. Our police should have been able to handle them long ago |

In my opinion, whatever US is doing for nigeria militarily, nigeria was capable of doing by itself all along. Nigeria has ISR platforms, drone, attack helicopters and jets.
I think the biggest issue is internal sabotage and the lack of political will to fish out the saboteurs within the system |
