FamilyRe: The Other Side Of Domestic Violence That We Don't Want To Talk About. by Obembem: 2:57pm On May 15, 2017
well well, this is a rational post trying to butress the fact that 'sometimes' people (male and female) sway away and let their emotions, habits take over which are the reasons for domestic violence.

An elder who is very gentle, married a good wife too, but the woman doesn't know when to stop when she's angry. Over the years they've been good together and but any slight misunderstanding the wife is on rampage. The man has been coping until one day, they had a misunderstanding the man was trying to walk out, the woman blocked the way, kept pushing him, pushing till the man gave her a slapped her and pushed her away, she said she never expected it.

So most times our actions determine what's coming next, no sane man will love to violate his wife. I never ever support domestic violence for once, infact patience is the key but the truth is like the OP said everyone has a limit

Some ladies actually do...dey use reverse psychology on d family n tell dem dt dey will be held responsible if dey dont get a suitor ...n dy can cite cases of females dey know.

but the mom will always tell the guy 'ni kini, she will still show her behavior ' that she's just doing the initial good gal stuff

Yes..ur right...not all ladies from there may be bad but der r certain tribes I cannot date even wtout advise cos of info I hv about dem. Pls dont be blinded by love.

For example if u go to mbaise to marry, dude u will pay tru ur nose. Pls go n confirm. I knw a dude dt was ruined by ds act, he was warned but ignored.

lolz..... i pity the guy
but why is that the Ladies of nowadays(not all tho) can't do something to redeem the beliefs people had about the parts they came from

yomi007k:

A lady who is hausa or raised in d north wud hv different character from one raised abroad.

D former may be submissive n prefer u handle all responsibility in d house while d later may wear a mask of feminism n do tins independently.

.... Not dt any is bad but u need to knw ds n knw how to tackle each case.

I agree with you but not totally, lets take naija ladies for instance, an average yoruba guy would have been warned not to bring ibo gal home at one time or the other cos of few experience they've had, does it now mean all ibo gals are bad?

Or not to go out with gals from one particular part cos of what they did in the past, does it now mean we can't get a good lady from there??
did you get the logic?

Yea...my mum asked me d same even up till her mother's name.....

Well, I guess dey wana research n find out if d family is a good one.

Correction- there is correlation between where she is from n her character sometimes.

correlation like whathuh cos that's the part i don't get
FamilyThey Always Ask by Obembem(op): 4:59pm On Mar 30, 2017
Most times our mothers do ask this popular question 'where is she from' whenever they meet any lady with their son. These happens with guys a lot especially if you are from the west.
Personally i don't really see the connection between where she is from and her character but they always do. So i just wonder cos sometimes they are right tho
FamilyRe: Let us hear word! Moral decadence is not a 21st century thing by Obembem: 4:37pm On Mar 30, 2017
Acidosis:

The older generations are as corrupt as the present day generation.

Everything we do today, we learnt from the oldies. If grannie had tattoos, it doesn't make it right for you the grand child.

If we all decide to pick everything our forefathers did, then we are in for bigger troubles. What I will say is, while some people are trying to correct their father's mistakes by living rightly, a lot more are so insensible that they fail to understand the time.

As an individual, if your forefather was so reckless with se.x giving birth and marrying wives on a local government basis, you as a son needs to correct that.

in as much as i don't know you I'll have to agree with you. Cos my grandfather was from a royal family so he has like 45grandchild till his death decade ago. Now as a grandchild i can't go all out and have multiple offsprings cos its detrimental.
Now you can't even have a second wife, with your first wife not putting up a fight with you coupled with family members. But then as a man you can take up wives as many as you can.
In essence am saying 'somethings' that are allowed then are not allowed now while somethings that are kept at bay then have crossed the line now.

with the kind of signs and wonders we see day to day there's no reason to doubt the existence of God...
For someone like p.diddy to say we go through somethings so as to value our life as a precious gift from God while he was on the sick bed. Because I believed one way or the other he might have doubted God because of the kind of life they live but I believe most know the truth.

FamilyRe: Why Are Some Destinies Cut Short? by Obembem: 11:29pm On Dec 27, 2016
Xensity:

You seem to have a skewed understanding of destiny, one that suggests that every human was created to attain a certain kind of conventional success in a particular field of life, and failure to attain this success, is sort of an unfulfillment of destiny. Did it ever occur to you that some people's destiny could be to die young or to die conventionally unfulfilled?

Let me use an example. We are living in this relatively war-free, post modern era because the world has sort of achieved a kind of peace and unity that was only made possible by the events that proceeded from the aftermath of the 2nd world war. But for the second world war to have ended the way it did, millions of people had to die. Couldn't you say that the destiny of those people that died was that they would die the way they did so that the war would end the way it did?

Let use your friends as an example. Let's say a couple of hours from now, an attractive and well to do male Nairalander sees this post, clicks on your profile and develops an attraction towards you. Two weeks later, he sends you a pm and you guys become friends. A month later, the both of you meet offline and develop an intimate relationship. Years later the two of you get married. Clearly, creating this thread was what led to you meeting this guy. And also, obviously, marrying him was your destiny, going by your understanding of destiny. But for you to have created this thread, your friends had to die. Would you then say that their death was a necessary antecedent to the achievement of your destiny? If this is so, was it their destiny to die at this particular time?

My problem with the this whole concept of destiny, is that people fail to realize that our present state, is a product of a plethora of prior causes, and what we are now, is a result of millions of random events that have happened in the past. At every second of our lives, we have achieved a universal state that can be classified as the achievement of our destiny, since destiny is basically our purpose on earth, which shouldn't be limited to one or few, because everything we do, and every decision we make, affects our world one way or another, and influences the destiny of others. So, at this very moment that I am typing this, I have fulfilled my destiny, and whatever I do after this, is still a fulfillment of my destiny. In my opinion, if destiny exists, then we fulfill it ever millisecond of our being.

wow! you've said it all
