Wonder how majority of us reason in this country. Do we expect that someone who is at large in God knows where with someone not on the shores of Nigeria to be prosecuted under same case with those already arraigned in a Nigerian law court in a criminal case? Do we think EFCC are comedians? They mean business and need those arraigned prosecuted and convicted of the alleged fraud without further delay to avert prolonged or delayed dispensation of justice. Why are we quick to react without deep thinking? Who knows when the duo of Dieziani & Aluko will step the shores of Nigeria Wake up people. We can do better by deep thinking. |
TippyTop:Are you on this planet at all? Where did the clueless GEJ leave the billions? Please, forgive my memory loss. Just remember those billions of US$ and Nigerian Naira are in the bank accounts of GEJ's ministers and aidesWhen will we ever be truthful for once in this country? Do are children really have a hope for the future in this great nation ![]() |
The next of kin is merely there to see things are done properly when you are no more. As much as it is very important to have a next of kin, the identified beneficiary is much more important as s/he or they become the ones to inherit the estate when the Letter of Administration from the Court is genuine. We all are admonished to have an executed will in place especially when one is about 40 years old. In this case, the family can still liaise with the next of kin (even if s/he is an ex). They only need her/him to sign some papers as the next of kin and that could be negotiated should s/he be the greedy type. S/he is not the beneficiary. But once they have the Letter of Administration, why do they need her/him again anyway? May be the lawyers in the house could help us sort this out better. |
Please, do not make any mistake of resigning. Let the Company confirm to you in writing that your services are no longer required if that is their position. In that case, you can have a legal justification to take them to court if you are not satisfied with whatever exit package they broker for you. Once you resign on your own, you lose your battle yourself. This is a trick which you should not buy into |
The "doctor" has also made an allegation of uncovering a fraud while being whisked away. Maybe he is indeed caught for blowing the whistle in the first place. With him in the gaol, case cannot be prosecuted further. Hope the family will be protected and made to reveal the identity of the fraudsters as well. They should accept the fate of what befalls them & endeavor to be patriotic citizens of our great fatherland, Nigeria. |
zicoraads:Dear Zicoraad, reading through your write up as quoted above makes me feel there are still truthful, honest & objective Nigerians out there like I want to believe I am. Your objective assessment of the real issues & highlights of problems associated with the campaigns on both ends are instructive & factual. Some Nairalanders had some weeks back alleged that even PDP contestants find it difficult using photos of the President in their posters. Rather than seeing the inherent danger in that & the negative consequence it would have on the chances of the President being re-elected, some saw it as another propaganda of the opposition APC. Also look at the alienating adverts & campaigns of the President's media handlers who focus more on what they stand to gain personally without recourse to the interest of the party & the aspiration of the President himself; saying more damaging harm has been done though those non issues based inconsequential items will be an understatement ! It makes more electorates sympathise with the aspiration of Buhari who by the day continues to convert political bigwigs to his fold! Unfortunately the way primaries were conducted & their outcomes managed in most South East & South South States in PDP did not help matters. Maybe the party should have paid more attention to other aspirants who lost out in the primaries & consequently became aggrieved with the party in the non transparent manner they were handled. I had reacted to a post on Nairaland yesterday when it was reported of the massive crowd that greeted the visit of the Presidential Campaign train in Kaduna. I contested that what I saw live on AIT in Kaduna was not in anyway the true picture of what had been posted on Nairaland. It now makes sense to me that majority of the people who had probably being captured in the initial footage of the pictures had been driven out for "anti-party" behaviours before I started watching it live on AIT. Though getting late now, the President can still be more involved personally in the running of his campaign to bring in some level of decorum than leaving things to the duo of FFK & Okupe especially, Metuh can be cautioned & advised to maintain the integrity since he is still more civil & loyal to the course of the party than FFK & Okupe. Nevertheless, I also believe that Buhari is accountable to us as Nigerians to indeed make a formal reaction to resolve issues surrounding his WASC Certificate. Either it matters in this election or not, he needs to show us real proof that there is nothing hidden as far as his WASC Certificate is concerned. While most people have made up their minds on who they would be voting in these elections especially the Presidential, Buhari is still answerable to public opinion. By the way, before getting fired up left right & centre, my vote goes to APC even when I carry no card of any political party. Let's not be perpetually insane like Einstein posited "doing something same way over & over again & yet, expecting different result". If Buhari is voted in & he abuses the opportunity, we sure will vote him out again next time if he escapes being removed constitutionally by the Legislature or Judiciary. But it is obvious that the current administration whom we voted into office even before 2011 has given us all they have which in my assessment puts us in a most deplorable state. Finally, I urge us all to be matured in our political contributions in order that we do not heat up the polity unnecessarily! Nothing in life, least of all politics or any politician is worth dieing for. Nigeria will be great again whether politicians like it or not. Our strength lies in our diversity and as such personal issues of religion or geographical location within the country should play little insignificant role in our collective resolve as a nation. Long live Nigeria. |
Even when I am in Lagos and by extension not anywhere close to Kaduna, I watched the PDP Rally in Kaduna on AIT which aired it live. Simultaneously I saw that of APC in Ilorin. The picture posted here is not anywhere close to what Kaduna was. This indeed confirms to me that not everything on the Nairaland is correct especially as it relates to electioneering campaigns. I was so disappointed to the extent of calling to tell one of my friends. As much as the crowd that attend these campaigns do not necessarily translate to votes cast, it is obvious that the APC has more followers than the PDP. It was worrisome to me too that the Vice President did not canvass for votes while making his speech; he was just "thanking" the President! He didn't even mention anything in terms of projects the President executed. I wonder why Sambo was not replaced even with Lamido Sule, the Jigawa State Governor! Little wonder why APC is winning electorates & converting more political bigwigs to her fold. If what I saw on AIT for PDP in Kaduna is anything to go by compared to what Channels aired for APC in Ilorin today, I predict that not only will the opposition party, the APC win the NIGERIAN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION OF FEBRUARY 14, 2015 but by an unimaginable margin. Goodluck to all the aspirants. |

For voters who registered in 2011 & are yet to collect their permanent voter's cards, you can verify whether or not your card was produced by sending a text message to 20120. The message MUST contain the name of the registration body (INEC), the State where you registered (ONDO as an example) your surname as it appears on your temporary voter's card (MIMIKO as an example) and the last five (5) digits of your VIN on the temporary voter's card (32412 as an example). That is "INEC ONDO MIMIKO 32412" to be sent to 20120. This costs you ten naira (N10). In less than 3 minutes, you get an instant message with the full details of your registration back in 2011 as confirmation of whether or not the permanent voter's card is ready. If it is not produced, the reply will tell you that. Since the distribution period at the polling units where you registered is over, you may call the number 07098115257 for further assistance which will enable you know the local government where you then can pick up your card. With the much awaited elections being few days from now, we need to be more proactive and supportive of the government. No doubt the government agency saddled with the registration & distribution exercise of voters' cards might not have done enough, we however expect that political parties should complement INEC's efforts towards a free, fair, transparent, credible & acceptable result during & after the polls. We all are stakeholders in Nigeria. God bless us all |
