It shouldn't be about the fineries of speech, outward packaging, draperies and rhetoric. Nigeria is a third world country, broke, busted and disgusted. We may not clamber out of the miry pit of poverty and disease soon because of our ossified mindset and imbecilic perspective.

What respect can you earn when you have become the Mendicant Capital of The World, seeking aid, carrying shameless begging bowls and trudging the Western capital cities when you wouldn't even acknowledge the stupidity of your ways and the wattages, the looting, the depravity and the collective boo- hoo majoring in the minors?

How do you stand before the rest of the world and rationalise your stinking choices when it comes to the primary issues of development that should engage you? According to UNICEF, there are 20 million children currently out of school and you cannot connect to the dots with rising costs of social insecurity, crime and violence. Are you safe? If you think your safety is guaranteed behind stony high fences and steel gates, what happens to your children when you are no longer here to protect them?

For those who have not yet outsourced their brains for bird feed and grain, it is a time to ponder on these things and gain perspective....

Honestly, the moment Tinubu was picked ahead of Osibanjo, I knew the election is over for him.
