When you celebrate you don't throw caution to the wind and fornicate or drink Alcohol. So the celebration should be legislated in the Islamic texts!

Playing of football, use of phones, TV are not in itself related to what we are saying! TV and phones are worldly innovations which may be good or bad depending on what it is used for! It's just like a knife, it can be used to stab or cut oranges!

On the issue is Saudi Arabia and Islam, that is the place where your apostle came from. Their language is the language you people are going to speak in al Hannah. Infact that's the only language Allah understands because if you do salary in your language, Allah can't understand unless you speak Arabic.
Saudi is where you must go to show that you are serving Allah. Saudi is the place where kaaba is and where you kiss it.
Saudi is the origin of Islam and the home of Islam.

Celebrating birthdays (personal birthdays, Mawlid, Christmas, etc) is a pagan practice and is not permitted in Islam no matter how it's painted. Some may say they will cook/provide for the needy or give money to the widows, or perform certain form of worship, etc. You have over 350 days in a year to worship Allah in the established ways He prescribed through the last Prophet of Islam (salallahu alayhi wasalam)! Anything beyond this type of worship is an innovation which would be rejected!

And its not our business if Saudi Arabia celebrates birthdays or not! Our concern is if its established to celebrate it or not!

Moreso, I see no reason personally celebrating a decrease in lifespan. If you're to live for 60 years and you're already 50, will you'll keep celebrating 51, 52, ....59....?

Some families even celebrate posthumous birthdays for the dead!

I made enquiry and I discovered that birthday is s also done in Saudi Arabia and the practice of celebrating the birthday of Mohammed the apostle of Islam is done. Because something is not done in Arabia land but it is done in other land does not make it a pagan practice. Did your Quran call it pagan practice? Did Mohammed call it pagan practice? Mow check these:

The use of television etc. were introduced to Saudi Arabia, they were not done during the time of Mohammed. Can we now say they are all pagan practices? Even in our traditional culture, there was nothing like birthday celebration. In as much as you dont commit sin when doing all these things, you are not doing the wrong thing.
Lastly, let me show you one secret, go to Google or any other search engine and ask to give the names of countries that watch porn movies on the Internet according to their numbers. You will be surprised if the names of countries that top the list.
