Romance / Re: 10 Sure-fire Signs A Married Woman Wants To Sleep With You by obinnocity(m): 3:58pm On Mar 21, 2023
If you see such signs, run for your life.

"But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul" Proverbs 6:32

Some people are now reaping the seed they sowed in their past. You better resist temptations and flee. It is for your good!

Hello house,
I have been following the thread. Anyone with relevant information should update us. If we need to pay NCDMB and other related bodies a visit, it will be a good idea. The recruitment process is lingering too long and we need to know what their plan is, after asking us to upload our documents. Thanks.

What kind of stupid question is that? Christ, Christianity and Christians have no business with homosexuality; it is an abomination before God!

This is not an unforgivable sin. Your brother should pray an recover his marriage. Much efforts should be made to bring her back and reconcile them. The trauma and the psychological effects will tell on their children's upbringing.

This is a foolish conclusion. Are there not Christians and pastors who supported Buhari? Permissive will of God is different from His perfect will.

Religion / Service To God And Humanity by obinnocity(m): 4:28pm On Feb 22, 2019
Topic: Service
Bible Text: Colossians 3:23-25

Key Verse: Matthew 20:28
"Even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve..."

Someone once said that "service is the rent we pay for our existence on earth". It means that without a life of service to God and humanity our lives have no relevance. Service according to the English dictionary means: "to be useful to; to meet the needs of; to have a given purpose; to function for something or to do something". This topic applies in every facets of life as long as we interact and relate with the society; whether in the civil service, civil forces, armed forces, public service, business, or as an individual in a community.

We are called to be of service to our society and this entails the allocation of our time, attention and resources to help others. We should go beyond ourselves to secure, comfort and make others happy. We at one point or the other had been aided by the services of others. This is the expression of our humanity to the society. What good is anything if it does not manifest its purpose? The microphone, mobile phone, car, salt, an electric fan, television etc. all have their purposes. Life is well lived when it is engaged in service.

Services could be paid for, discounted or free of charge. However, every true service requires selflessness and putting others first whether the service is paid for, discounted or free. The value and satisfaction which people enjoy through your services or products must come first before profits making. It has to be excellent which means that quality and standards should be maintained. Any venture that is only concerned about profits without quality of service will not last. Our wholehearted acts to people is counted as part of our service to God. As men talk about our good services to them, God is glorified and praised. Through it our lights shine to others.

There are various ways through which we serve and they include: service through paid job; service through our family where every member of the family is cared for and the lifestyle of caring for others is inculcated in them; service through volunteering for your community and contributing to its development; through homes visitations to strengthen the weak; through hospital visitations to pray and give to the patients; through teaching or guiding a child in his academic lessons; through donating clothes and other material goods; by serving children in the church, school or organization; to mourn with those that mourn and giving them hope again; through sharing your skills and talents; through serving as a missionary; through working in a unit of your local church; using your creativity to help others etc.

There are examples of wrong attitudes to service and they include: engaging in long discussions or chatting when you should be attending to people waiting for you; collecting bribes even in a service that you are paid monthly salary to offer whether as a civil servant, clerk, exams and record officer, immigration officer etc; asking students for "tipping" before you process their certificate collection; asking pensioners for bribes before their papers will be moved to the next desks; employing your service to payback your enemies; unjust calibration of discharge pumps; the usage of cheap and inferior materials in construction works as a civil engineer; when a police officer extort people unlawfully; a lecturer demanding sex or money from students before they could pass examinations; giving your body to customers because you want to make sales or hit targets as an insurance or bank marketing agent; giving or demanding for immoral favour before an actress or actor will be given movie roles to act etc. Some of these attitudes in services had brought scandals and court cases to many, therefore high ethical and moral standards should be upheld in every service.

There are benefits attached to offering good services. They include: character building, people will refer and recommend you to other people, good name before God and man, official promotion, awards, material and financial increase, you become a good example to your children and coming generations etc. Do you make a difference by the quality of service you offer? How well do you satisfy or meet the needs of others? "... Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily as to the Lord, and not unto men" Colossians 3:23.

References: I Peter 4:10; Mark 10:45; Matthew 20:27,28.

Action point: I must give myself to the service of God and humanity.

Prayer point: Lord give me the heart for excellence in service in Jesus name!

Religion / Giving Back To The Society by obinnocity(m): 5:13pm On Feb 18, 2019
Topic: Giving Back To The Society
Bible Text: II Corinthians 9:6-11

Key verse: Acts 20:35
"...remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive"

Should we always be on the receiving side of life? Should we feel entitled to getting assistance from people, relations, friends, and government? It is the Dead Sea that only collects water but the Sea of Galilee is always giving out and has fresh water all the time, though both receives water from River Jordan. There comes a time in our own lives when we need to take up some responsibilities. Every one of us have something good to give to the society. If you look very well you'll definitely discover it. Giving back to the society goes beyond monetary donations; it could just be your time, attention, talents, skills, or material things.

Someone might sit back and start saying things like: you know that I'm still a student; I'm a fresh graduate and I don't have a job yet; I haven't finished taking of myself how can I think of others; my family is poor and we don't have enough; when I have plenty of money I will reach out but not now; let others do it; everything is tight and I am struggling to survive; the economy of the country is not helping matters etc. Start from where you are and do what you can. There is no excuse in age, status or resources for your non-involvement in building a better society.

Examples of things to give to the society are: the spoken word of God, copies of the Bible, and books; your prayers and intercessions for others; free medical services; clothing to vulnerable children and the poor; free water to your neighborhood; outreach to the prisoners and the sick; relief materials to the internally displaced persons; educational assistance and scholarships; schools related projects for communities; libraries and book clubs; your written works; tutorials; your video documentaries; christian or character building movies and songs; your skills; your time etc.

Just imagine this modern world of wars, conflicts, and hurting people without humanitarian agencies, volunteers and donors like Red cross society, UNICEF, European Union and Commission, Bill and Melinda Gate foundation, Nigeria Christian Corpers Fellowship (NCCF) through rural rugged evangelism, giving churches and outreaches, etc. These are organisations and individuals in the world who have devoted themselves to bettering the society through donations and charity. They have contributed their ideas, time, money, and material resources to various causes for the underprivileged globally.

You too can leave a print in the hearts and lives of people. Start by paying someone compliment to encourage their good efforts; lend a helping hand to someone in need; perform random acts of kindness like paying of transportation fare for a fellow passenger or the aged even if you don't know them; volunteer in community leadership; start serving in a unit of your local church; get involved in community environmental cleaning and sanitation; plant a tree in the environment to reciprocate the Oxygen-Nitrogen intake exchange, reach out to your alma mater and contribute to her growth; follow up the education of a child in your community or somewhere; reach out to orphanage homes; embarking on continuous corporate social responsibility projects as a company; increase the security condition of your area by knowing your neighbours; install a water dispensing tap outside your house for others to fetch from etc.

The benefits in giving back to the society are many, they are: you will become more sensitive to your environment; you will build a great reputation of societal trust; a new chapter of leadership will be opened to you as you get noticed by your community; God will reward you now and in His Kingdom; it brings about a sense of gratitude which makes others to replicate same in the society; givers never lack; it fills one's heart with joy and fulfilment. What would you contribute to the society from today? Stop making negative analyses, excuses, and ungodly stories. Just do it, "for God loves a cheerful giver" and He will surely reward you. II Corinthians 9:7.

Action: I must be of good service to someone everyday

Prayer point: Lord give me the heart to reach out to the world in love in Jesus name!
